Northern oblasts

Kyiv

A distinguished US delegation has arrived in the capital. It is expected that its members will sign a $25 million investment agreement with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to help fast-growing small and medium-sized businesses.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy supported the petition to create a pantheon of Heroes of Ukraine in Askold’s Grave Park. Currently, the Ministry of Culture, together with the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, is working on a draft concept for the Ukrainian Heroes Memorial.

A mural appeared in the center of the capital with the inscription "Glory to Ukraine. Glory to the Heroes". The mural was created on one of the administrative buildings of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and is dedicated to the memory of all those who fell during the war. The mural depicts the Hero of Ukraine Oleksandr Matsiyevskyi, who was shot by the russians after uttering the words: "Glory to Ukraine". The author of the mural is the French artist Christian Guemy, known under the pseudonym C215.


Zhytomyr Oblast

The Zhytomyr 95th Detached Airborne Assault Brigade became the first to receive a letter of appreciation written by Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In the letter, the President thanked Commander Oleh Apostol and every paratrooper of the brigade "for their resilience, bravery and really cool combat results."

In schools and kindergartens of the Zhytomyr Oblast, children are taught in "safety classes", where they acquire the skills needed for a safe life. By the end of the year, 147 such classes are planned to be organized in the oblast. Children are told how to prevent a fire, how to avoid landmines, how to behave on the water, and how to provide first aid.


Chernihiv Oblast

On the night of April 28-29, russians shelled two border communities in the Chernihiv Oblast: Semenivka and Horodnia. Six houses were damaged in Semenivka by an aerial bomb. Also, three civilians were wounded.

A civilian was killed and a teenager was wounded as a result of the shelling of the village of Tymonovychi in the Semenivka Raion. In total, three houses were damaged.

Three police officers were wounded in an air strike in the Chernihiv Oblast on April 28.

The Chernihiv Raion Court sentenced two russians who, in March 2022, beat Mykola Yarosh, a resident of Sloboda, near Chernihiv, with a shovel holder, doused him with some flammable substance, and threatened to set him on fire. The russian servicemen were convicted in absentia.


Sumy Oblast

On April 28, russians shelled the Bilopillia, Esman, Znob-Novhorodske, and Seredyna-Buda communities in the Sumy Oblast. 58 explosions were recorded. There is no information about injured people or damaged buildings.


Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Over the past day, the enemy continued to shell civilian infrastructure and civilians in the settlements of the Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, and Kupiansk raions.

The shelling of Vovchansk, Chuhuiv Raion, significantly damaged the building of a kindergarten.

In the village of Nesterne, Chuhuiv Raion, the shelling damaged the premises and equipment of an agricultural company.

Also, a missile attack on Kupiansk almost destroyed a private household.

Mine clearance works continue. Over the past day, pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service inspected almost 15 hectares of territory and defused 104 explosive devices.


Donetsk Oblast

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Maryinka sectors. Over the past day, the enemy carried out 48 attacks in these areas of the front.

Bakhmut and Maryinka remain at the epicenter of hostilities.


Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

At night, Russians launched a missile attack on Kramatorsk. High-rise buildings, educational institutions and infrastructure facilities were damaged, and two people were killed. Ordinary residents united to help the family that lost all their property and is now in the hospital.


Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

In the east of the Pokrovsk Raion, Avdiivka came under fire from various weapons 15 times, as the city continues to be razed to the ground. This time, the residential sector, the industrial area, the Avdiivka Coke Plant, a motor depot and the camping area were affected. There were no reports of casualties.

In the Kurakhove community, a house in the settlement of Hostre was damaged, and the outskirts of Kurakhove and Ostrivske also came under shelling.

Russians repeatedly fired at Maryinka from artillery.

In the Avdiivka sector, the enemy conducted offensive operations in the areas of Avdiivka, Severne, and Pervomaiske, without any success. Russians shelled the settlements of Novobakhmutivka, Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk Oblast.

Yesterday, in the Maryinka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy attacks in the area of the settlements of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka. At the same time, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Pobeda, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk Oblast came under enemy fire.

The Berehynia Fine Arts Studio took part in the KidsandArtUkraine charity program and the exhibition MY UNCONQUERED UKRAINE in London. 11 pupils and the head of the studio put 14 paintings up for auction.


Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

In the Bakhmut direction, the invaders continue to conduct offensive actions. Fighting continues in the city of Bakhmut. In addition, during the day, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the direction of Bohdanivka and Chasovyi Yar. The russians carried out airstrikes on Bakhmut and Bohdanivka. Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Khromove, Chasovyi Yar, Hryhorivka, Ivanivske, Predtechyne, Kostiantynivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Pivdenne, Nelipivka and New York (the Donetsk Oblast) were affected by enemy shelling.


Luhansk Oblast

On April 28, the russians carried out airstrikes on Novoyehorivka, Nevske and Bilohorivka.

Makiivka, Nevske, Dibrova, Bilohorivka and Novoselivske came under artillery fire. The extent of the destruction is currently being clarified.

In the temporarily occupied village of Lubianka in the Luhansk Oblast, russian servicemen moved into one of the schools. The occupiers forced teachers to continue their studies and obliged children to go to school.


Southern Oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast

As of 7:30 a.m. on April 29, no enemy shelling was recorded on the territory of the Mykolaiv Oblast.

On the occasion of the Day of the Naval Flag of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a large car rally with the flags of the Naval Forces took place in Mykolaiv. The organizers of the event were servicemen of the special unit of the Naval Forces of Ukraine "Angels". 57 cars took part in the rally, including defenders who serve in the ranks of the Naval Forces, relatives and friends of military personnel, ordinary people of Mykolaiv.

In the urban-type settlement of Pervomaiske in the Mykolaiv Oblast, the local dispensary, which was damaged by russian shelling, is being restored. As of April 29, electricity has already been connected to the facility. An audit of the water network and gas supply is planned.


Zaporizhzhia Oblast

During the past day, April 28, the russian military shelled 14 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. In particular, the enemy carried out 50 artillery barrages and 1 air strike, attacked 3 times with unmanned aerial vehicles and 2 times with multiple launch rocket systems. The russian army shelled Uspenivka, Charivne, Kamianske, Stepnohirsk, Huliaipole, Orihiv, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Olhivske, Bilohiria, Charivne, Huliaipilske, Stepove. 22 reports were received about the destruction of houses (apartments) of citizens and infrastructure objects as a result of russian shelling.

In Zaporizhzhia, 50 streets and alleys, the names of which are related to russia and the soviet union, were renamed. Such a decision was made by city council deputies at the session on April 27. At present, there are still about 200 streets that are included in the toponym register and are subject to renaming.


Odesa Oblast

In Odesa, on the 105th anniversary of the first raising of the Ukrainian flag, naval ships of the Black Sea Fleet of Ukraine raised the flags of the Naval Forces.

In Odesa, an electronic survey on the renaming of two districts of the city was completed. The majority of respondents voted against changing the name of Suvorovskyi district to Peresypskyi. Also, the majority of people are in favor of renaming the Malynovskyi district to Khadzhybeiskyi.


Kherson Oblast

Over the past day, the russian army carried out 33 attacks from heavy artillery, tanks, "Grad" multiple launch rocket systems and drones on the de-occupied part of the Kherson Oblast. Kherson was shelled five times. Residential quarters and the territory of the hospital in Bilozerka were hit. One person died, and six were injured.

Over the past day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed seven units of russian armored vehicles, an enemy boat and a drone on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson Oblast.

In the occupied territories of the Kherson Oblast, russian troops have intensified filtering measures. Houses are being searched in the settlements of Maloleksandrivka, Novomykolaivka, Skadovsk and Lazurne. Phones are also checked, in particular those with SIM cards of Ukrainian operators.

Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Oblast Military Administration, instructed the heads of military administrations to work out ways to evacuate people in the event of mass shelling by the russians. Lists of people with limited mobility who cannot get to the evacuation meeting point on their own are also compiled.


Central Oblasts

Cherkasy Oblast

In Uman, the search and rescue operation was completed. The total number of people killed as a result of a russian missile attack on a residential high-rise building is 23, including six children.

Local residents bring flowers, postcards and toys to the destroyed house.


Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

The President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel came to Dnipro. He met with the head of the Oblast Military Administration Serhiy Lysak and talked about the reconstruction of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. They also signed a memorandum on the production of a modern medical bus — a "resuscitation unit" on wheels. The priority of Czech partners is the humanitarian and energy spheres.

In Novomoskovsk of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, a poll has begun regarding a new name for the city. The candidates are offered among nine options: Nova Samar, Samarchyk, Novoselytsia, Samar, Soborne, Sicheslav, Novosamarsk, Prysamarsk, Sviatotroitsk.

The "U-LEAD with Europe" program has been working with the communities of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast since 2017. They provide transportation, tools, and construction materials to communities in the Oblast, and advise local self-government in all 86 communities.


Kirovohrad Oblast

Free training in tactical medicine was organized for students in Kropyvnytskyi. Its participants were taught to apply a tourniquet, stop bleeding and evacuate the wounded. Anyone could take part in it. The training was organized at the Central Ukrainian National Technical University.


Poltava Oblast

An enemy "Shahed 136" from a new batch of drones was landed in the Poltava Oblast. It was announced by the Kyiv Research Institute of Forensic Expertise. The downed drone in the Poltava Oblast has the inscription "not brothers" (ne brat ia). Its research will become part of the evidence of russia's military aggression against Ukraine. The Iranian-made drone, which the enemy used to attack the territory of Ukraine, has a marking font and identification elements that are different from those studied earlier. This indicates that it belongs to the new batch of Iranian drones that russia received.

A year ago, a chatbot was launched so that residents of the Poltava Oblast and displaced persons could quickly solve their questions or get useful information. During this time, more than 140,000 messages were processed and more than 30,000 active chat dialogues were held.


Western oblasts

Ivano- Frankivsk Oblast

In the Museum of the Heavenly Hundred in Ivano-Frankivsk, the photo exhibition "Azov. Angels of Mariupol" was opened. It is dedicated to the memory of the soldiers of the "Azov" regiment from all over Ukraine who died during the defense of Mariupol and "Azovstal".

30 Easter eggs with the symbols of Mariupol were presented at the Museum of Easter Egg Painting in Kolomyia of the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. Residents of Mariupol in 13 cities of Ukraine participated in making Easter eggs.


Chernivtsi Oblast

A machine gunner from Chernivtsi with the call sign "Sviatiy" (Holly), despite being wounded, continued to clear the positions of the russian military near Vuhledar. He refused to be evacuated, because he and his comrades had the most ammunition. When the soldiers completed their mission and were returning, they came under mortar fire. Mykhailo's knee was crushed by a fragment, but he first helped his brother.

A protocol meeting was held between the head of the Chernivtsi Oblast Military Administration, Ruslan Zaparaniuk, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine, Kim Hyung Tae. Also, the delegation of Poland, headed by the Minister of the Office of the President of Poland Andrzej Dera, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Ukraine Arad Benkö paid an official visit to Bukovyna.

Ten hospitals of the Chernivtsi Oblast received six tons of humanitarian saline solution this week. This became possible thanks to the established cooperation between the Chernivtsi Regional Council and the humanitarian organization "Doctors of the World - Greece".

The religious organization "Religious Administration of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ukraine" handed over medical, kitchen and household equipment to the Chernivtsi Regional Clinical Hospital: a sterilizer, electric, food and cooking boilers, a refrigerator, an industrial electric frying pan, a washing machine, a centrifuge, a disinfection chamber, an industrial meat grinder, an oven and an electric stove with an oven. The total cost of all assistance is more than 1 million 150 thousand UAH.


Zakarpattia Oblast

The head of the Zakarpattia Oblast Military Administration Viktor Mykyta held an important working meeting with the president of the Committee of the Regions of the European Union Vasco Alves Cordeiro. The EU Committee of Regions is an important institution that expresses the opinion of self-governing bodies at various levels. Thanks to it, regions and cities can have an official right to vote in the EU law-making process, which guarantees that their positions and needs are taken into account.

The charity fair-festival of spring flowers "Beltain" takes place in the Uzhgorod Castle. All funds raised during the event will be used by the organizers to help children in orphanages from de-occupied areas of Kharkiv Oblast.
