Northern oblasts

Kyiv

On the night of May 7-8, more than 30 russian Shahed drones were spotted and shot down in Kyiv's airspace. The falling debris caused destruction and injuries in the city. In the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital, debris fell on a detached 2-story building. A high-pressure gas pipe was damaged, causing a burning gas flare. In the Solomianskyi district, a 10-ton fuel tank was probably damaged by debris. Debris also damaged a residential building in Kyiv. Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko visited the damaged building. The city authorities will provide the necessary assistance to those affected and will promptly restore the damaged housing after the conclusions of a special commission.

To support the operation of the capital's heat and power industry, the Kyivteploenergo utility company received 137 generators with a capacity of 7 to 100 kW from the US government for a total amount of about 40 million hryvnias.

Kyiv Oblast

Today, explosive devices were disposed of in the Vyshhorod and Bucha raions.

Deputy of the Irpin City Council, Anton Holovenko, met with Oleksandr Porkhun, First Deputy Minister of Veteran Affairs. They discussed the issue of benefits and payments for the families of the fallen defenders.

Zhytomyr Oblast

The 30th Detached Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi from Zviahel received the award "For the Will to Victory and Resilience."

In Khoroshiv, Zhytomyr Oblast, participants in a general meeting of the Orthodox religious community decided to convert to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The decision was unanimously supported by 716 participants.

The IT project "Boost Main Academy" was launched in Zhytomyr, aimed at displaced children from orphanages and low-income families. They will be trained in IT professions for free, so that in the future they can get internships at Ukrainian and international IT companies.

Chernihiv Oblast

On May 7, russian troops shelled the border community of Semenivka in the Chernihiv Oblast. There were no reports of casualties among the local population or damage to civilian infrastructure.

Sumy Oblast

On the night of May 8, russians attacked the Znob-Novhorodske community in the Sumy Oblast, injuring three people. Non-residential premises were destroyed.

Kharkiv Oblast

Yesterday, the enemy carried out air and missile strikes, fired artillery and mortars at the settlements of the Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Chuhuiv, and Izium raions.

As a result of 2 strikes by S-300 missiles on Balaklia, Izium Raion, the territory of the car park was damaged.

According to the updated information of the Oblast Emergency Medical Assistance Center, 7 civilians were wounded. Four of them had minor injuries and did not require hospitalization. Three people sustained moderate injuries and were hospitalized.

At least 3 private houses and a car were damaged as a result of the shelling in the village of Vovchanski Khutory, Chuhuiv Raion.

A 67-year-old woman was wounded in the village of Buhaivka, Chuhuiv Raion. She was hospitalized in moderate condition.

Mine clearance is underway. Over the past day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service neutralized 21 explosive devices.

Donetsk Oblast

On May 8, russians wounded 2 residents of the Donetsk Oblast: in Shcherbynivka and Katerynivka.

In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukraine has lost 1,497 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast, and another 3,484 people have been wounded. The number of casualties in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

The russian military launched a missile attack on Kramatorsk at night, firing six missiles at the industrial area. No one was killed or wounded.

A private house in Kostiantynivka was damaged in the Horlivka sector.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

Over the past day, the Ukrainian military recorded shelling of Marinka and the neighborhood of the community.

In the Donetsk direction, a house in Kurakhivka was damaged, and Kurakhove also came under fire in the community.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

Mykolaiv Oblast

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

During the past day, May 7, the russian military shelled 21 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. In particular, they carried out two airstrikes, attacked seven times with anti-aircraft missiles, once with an unmanned aerial vehicle, and used artillery 89 times. 

On the night of May 8, the russian military attacked the village of Komyshuvakha of the Zaporizhzhia Raion. There are destroyed and damaged residential buildings. Two people were injured. 

The number of russian military personnel is increasing in the area of the Zaporizhzhia NPP . Under the pretext of "evacuation", the aggressor takes the population of the temporarily occupied territories to the places where the russian troops are trying to place their equipment and units in order to use it as a human shield.

Under the pretext of evacuating residents, the russians are taking away looted property from temporarily occupied settlements of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Only a third of the buses that arrived in the temporarily occupied Berdiansk from the front-line settlements of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast had civilians, the rest of the transport had russian military personnel. The evacuation is not carried out from Berdiansk yet, at the same time collaborators are leaving the city.

In the temporarily occupied Energodar, the Russians involve rosgvardia troops in extinguishing fires due to the refusal of local firefighters.

Odessa Oblast

Tonight, the Odesa Oblast was attacked by russian troops with Tu-22m3 long-range bombers. A total of eight launches were carried out from the area of ​​Cape Tarkhankut in the occupied Crimea. Some of the missiles did not reach their targets. X-22 missiles hit the enterprise and the coast. The russian federation also destroyed a Red Cross warehouse with a humanitarian aid in Odesa with a missile strike. One person died, three were injured. 

As a result of missile strikes on resort villages in the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Raion, a recreation base was completely destroyed, and at least five neighboring bases and more than 20 private summer houses were damaged. 

Kherson Oblast

On May 7, russian troops struck the Kherson Oblast 42 times with heavy artillery, Grad MLRS, tanks, drones, and aviation. Around Kherson they struck seven times. Residential quarters and the territory of the Kherson factory were hit. There are two wounded.

The russian army shelled Stanislav in the Kherson Oblast. Six people were injured. One woman was admitted to the Kherson hospital with moderate injuries, five were treated and sent home. Among the injured is a 9-year-old child. 

Also, the russian military once again dropped aerial bombs on the village of Kizomys, destroying two houses. Antonivka came under fire. Two people were injured. They are the head of the Antonivka starosta district and a female employee. The condition of the woman is extremely difficult.

The number of people killed as a result of shelling by russian troops in Kherson on May 3 increased to 24 people. A 54-year-old woman died in the hospital this morning, having received serious injuries that day.

The deputy pseudo-minister of the "ministry of agriculture and fisheries" of the Kherson Oblast, created by the russian occupiers, was charged with collaboration. A resident of the Beryslav Raion organized the work of the fake "department of breeding livestock", coordinated plans and programs of the occupation department. He faces up to 10 years in prison

Electricity supply was restored in the village of Novopoltavka of the Beryslav Raion. 52 subscribers were connected to the network.

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

An intelligence officer with the pseudonym Texas from the Drabiv Raion lost two limbs during the war, but after rehabilitation returned to service in the 118th separate territorial defense brigade. He was severely wounded in August in the Bakhmut direction during artillery fire. Currently, he teaches novice aerial reconnaissance.

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

Among the 45 defenders of Azovstal released recently from enemy captivity is a defender from Khmelnytskyi.

An official partnership agreement was signed between Kamianets-Podilskyi and the Turkish municipality of Cihanbeyli. The event was held with the participation of heads of communities, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Turkey Vasyl Bodnar.

In Kamianets-Podilskyi, children from the Selydar community of the Donetsk Oblast will undergo psychological rehabilitation for a month.

Chernivtsi Oblast

President Volodymyr Zelensky presented state awards and an honorary award "For courage and bravery" to the 10th separate mountain assault brigade "Edelweiss", stationed in Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. The solemn ceremony took place on the territory of the Mariinsky Palace in Kyiv.

Representatives of the "Direkthilfe" organization from the German city of Koblenz brought three large trucks of humanitarian aid to the Chernivtsi Oblast. In partnership with the Chernivtsi society "Rodyna Kolpinga", they unloaded aid in three communal medical institutions of the Oblast, where internally displaced persons and Ukrainian defenders are treated.

Zakarpattia Oblast

The communities of the Zakarpattia Oblast received four more passenger buses from the Hungarian Veszprem. This is already the second shipment of transport that arrived in Zakarpattia as part of the support package by prior agreement with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Economy and Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Parliamentary State Secretary Levente Modior. The first buses were sent to the de-occupied territories of the Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts, where they are now critically needed.

A charity concert in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the "Get2Groove" dance championship took place on the stage of the Sheregiiv brothers Zakarpattia Regional Music Drama Theater. More than 700 participants showed their mastery of modern dance in the championship, 23 teams presented the best numbers at a charity concert. Spectators donated funds for an armored car for Ukrainian defenders.
