Northern oblasts

Kyiv

At night, russians attacked Kyiv. About 15 air targets were destroyed. As a result of shooting down of the missile in the Holosiivskyi district, the debris fell into the yard of a private house. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, debris was found on the roadway.

President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, arrived in Kyiv on a visit.

Kyiv Oblast

The wreckage of an enemy cruise missile fired by the russians on the night of May 9 was found in the Kyiv Oblast.

Also, fragments of an enemy missile were found in a settlement in one of the raions of the Kyiv Oblast. Partial damage to civilian infrastructure was reported.

In another raion of the oblast, a crater with a diameter of 8 meters was found.

Explosive ordnance was destroyed in the Bucha Raion today.

Yesterday, on the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation, Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration (KOMA), honored the memory of the victims of World War II. The head of the KOMA made a working visit to the National Museum-Reserve "Battle for Kyiv in 1943" in the village of Novi Petrivtsi and took part in the ceremony of laying flowers at the memorial plaque "To the Unknown Soldier".

Bohuslav

More than 200 participants and several thousand guests from all over Ukraine took part in the charitable historical and educational event "Portal Through the Ages: Ukrainian Military" in Bohuslav. It was organized by the public organization "Around Us. UA", the Bohuslav Volunteer Center, the Center for Study of Military History of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the city authorities. Zhytomyr Oblast

The SBU exposed three enemy agitators in the Zhytomyr Oblast. One of them is a native of the bryansk region (russian federation), a former soviet soldier, who currently works in a military unit in the Zhytomyr Oblast. The man was trying to convince the citizens that the aggressor state was invincible, and called putin a "strong commander." Another native of the russian federation, who lives in Zhytomyr, imposed the idea of the "russian world". The defendant in another case is an ex-military officer and now a private entrepreneur from a village in the Korosten Raion. They all spread fake news about murders of civilians allegedly committed by the Ukrainian military. All of the cases have been referred to the court.

Zhytomyr received another aid from its sister city Plock (Poland). This time, 80 folding beds and 11 gasoline generators arrived. The humanitarian aid was delivered by volunteers of the "Together for Life" charity foundation. Plock has been helping Zhytomyr and the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion.

Ivan Khalus with the call sign "Sculptor" made a sculpture with the emblem of his native brigade. The basis was a 300-year-old oak log. The author engraved on it the call signs and names of his comrades-in-arms, as well as the names of the settlements where fierce battles took place. For several days, he worked in the Shoduari Park, collecting money for his native brigade in a box. He plans to use the money to buy medicines for the 95th Brigade. Ivan Khalus is a paratrooper who was wounded in an artillery shelling and was discharged from the army.

Free express courses on learning five foreign languages have started in Zhytomyr. This project was launched by the Department of Culture of the Zhytomyr City Council to mark the Europe Day.

Chernihiv Oblast

On May 9, russian troops shelled the border areas of the Chernihiv Oblast. The military recorded 33 explosions, probably from tube artillery, near the village of Muravyi in the Novhorod-Siversk Raion. There were no reports of casualties among the local population or damage to civilian infrastructure.

In Chernihiv, a memorial complex to the fallen defenders of Ukraine is planned to be built at the cemetery in the Yalivshchyna Park. The memorial complex will have 150-160 burials, a central alley, a place for farewells, and paved paths. The project is currently being developed, and it is necessary to decide on the visual appearance of the complex, the material for the tombstones, their color and size. During the meeting, sketches of possible designs were presented to the families of the fallen soldiers.

Sumy Oblast

During the day, on May 8, the russian army fired 12 times at the settlements of the Sumy Oblast, namely Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Znob-Novhorodske, Shalyhyne, Esman, and Nova Sloboda communities. A total of 70 explosions were recorded. As a result of russian strikes, cars, residential buildings, and a power line were damaged in the Nova Sloboda community.

At night and in the morning of May 9, nine bombardments from the territory of russia were recorded in the Sumy Oblast. Settlements in six communities were shelled.

There was an air strike in the Seredyna-Buda community - two missiles were fired at the village of Romashkove. Three private houses and the grain warehouse of the local agricultural company were damaged.

The Trostyanets Raion Court sentenced two russian soldiers who fired a tank at a local hospital. The court also ruled to recover 140 thousand hryvnias from the russian federation in favor of the medical institution. And also more than 21 thousand hryvnias from each convict for forensic examinations.

The soldiers' whereabouts are currently being established.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Last night the enemy launched a massive missile attack on the Kharkiv Raion of the oblast. Hits caused by 6 S-300 missiles were recorded near the village of Novyi Korotych. All missiles hit the ground. There were no casualties or damage.

Another S-300 missile hit the area of Solonytsivka, Kharkiv Raion. Transport infrastructure was damaged and a fire broke out in a forest plantation.

In the village of Tsapivka, one of the S-300 missiles damaged a private residential building.

Also, during the day, the enemy shelled settlements of the Chuhuiv and Kupiansk raions with artillery and mortars.

A private residential building was damaged in Vovchansk, Chuhuiv Raion.

Two private houses were damaged in the village of Fyholivka, Kupiansk Raion.

Demining continues. Over the past day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service inspected more than 15 hectares of territory and neutralized 125 explosive devices.

Donetsk Oblast

On May 8, the russians wounded one resident of the Donetsk Oblast in Bakhmut.

Since February 24, 2022, russian weapons have killed 1,497 civilians in the Donetsk Oblast, and another 3,485 people have been injured. To date, the number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is unknown.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

On the night of May 9, two explosions sounded in Kramatorsk. russian missiles hit the territory of an industrial enterprise.

On the night of May 9, the russian S-300 shelled Kostiantynivka and damaged an educational institution. The day before the russian military shelled three times with artillery in the Predtechyn and Novodmytrivka raions. A private house was damaged.

In the Lysychansk direction, a house was destroyed in Zarichne of the Lyman community.

In total, the russians wounded one resident of the Donetsk Oblast during the day.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

In the east of the Pokrovsk Raion, the Kurakhove community came under fire five times: in Kurakhove, 14 private houses, seven high-rise buildings, two administrative buildings and an industrial enterprise were damaged. 650 houses remained without electricity. There are no casualties or injuries.

At night, isolated shelling of Avdiivka, as well as shelling of Marinka and Maksimilianivka were recorded.

Since the beginning of the week, four residents have been evacuated from Avdiivka.

Fighting continues in the city of Bakhmut. During the day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the direction of Ivanivske and Chasiv Yar.

In the Horlivka direction, one person was injured in Bakhmut. Two houses were damaged in Toretsk, seven more in the Soledar community: four in Nykyforivka and three in Vasiukivka.

Chasiv Yar came under fire. Houses and non-residential buildings were damaged.

More than a thousand residents live in the Siversk community. Last week, they took out two children who were staying in the city.

Southern oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast

Yesterday, May 8, the enemy carried out an artillery bombardment of the water area of ​​the Ochakiv community. There are no casualties.

In Mykolaiv, the Pervomaisk, Bashtanska and Voznesensk raions, the day and night passed relatively calmly.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

Over the past 24 hours, May 8, the russian military has carried out almost 70 strikes on the residential and civilian infrastructure of Zaporizhzhia, the Vasylivka and Polohy raions of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. In total, 19 settlements in the Oblast were under fire. In particular, they attacked from drones, twice from MLRS and used artillery 65 times. A teenager was injured.

Kherson Oblast

During May 8, the russian army shelled the Kherson Oblast 46 times. The buildings of a school, a dispensary, a boarding house for the elderly, the premises of the village council and houses were damaged. 14 people, including one child, were injured.

Also, the russian army struck the Kherson community six times. Hits were recorded in Kherson, Antonivka, Sadove, and Zelenivka. In addition, russian troops shelled the islands and the coastal zone of the Dnipro. Two people were injured.

The village of Kizomys came under artillery fire. The first aid station was destroyed by shells. There are no casualties or injuries.

Yesterday, seven fires broke out in the Kherson Oblast due to shelling by russian troops. Residential buildings and farm buildings burned in Zmiivka of the Beryslav Raion, the village of Kizomys and the village of Zelenivka of the Kherson Raion. Ten units of equipment and 47 rescuers were involved in extinguishing the fires.

In Skadovsk, the occupying raion and city administrations are curtailing their work. So, its "employees" loaded documentation, office equipment and other property of state institutions into the car. Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

As a result of an attack by russian troops on the night of May 9, missile debris fell on a four-story building in Dnipro.

A 32-year-old woman was injured, she is in the hospital. In the high-rise building, the roof and ceilings of several apartments were damaged. The warhead of the missile was found in the house. Residents were evacuated while the explosives were working. Currently, the dangerous debris has been removed.

Cherkasy Oblast

On the night of May 9, the enemy attacked Cherkasy with two cruise missiles. The remnants of the missile, previously Kh-101, fell in a forest massif near Orshanets. The explosion caused a fire. There are no casualties. The blast wave damaged the windows of the Cherkasy Regional Tuberculosis Dispensary. 47 patients were evacuated to an undamaged part of the building.

In the Zvenyhorod Raion, pyrotechnicians destroyed part of a cruise missile that was found in a forest massif. 

Cherkasy volunteers purchased a medical and dental complex for the military. It has everything necessary to provide dental care to soldiers - from diagnostic equipment to medical supplies. The request of the military NGO "Our Battalion", the association of volunteer dentists "TryZub" and partners were fulfilled.

Kirovohrad Oblast

Kirovohrad prosecutors collected materials on a woman suspected of treason. The investigation established that the accused voluntarily cooperated with the enemy. During the occupation of the settlement by the russian troops, she was paid for providing the latest information about the participants of the anti-terrorist operation and patriotic local activists who were later killed by the russian troops. For the crime committed, the accused faces up to 15 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment, with confiscation of property.

Poltava Oblast

In Poltava, the Development Strategy of the Poltava Urban Territorial Community until 2027 is being developed. At the meeting, members of the working group discussed the community's weaknesses, strengths, opportunities and threats, forming the basis for a SWOT analysis. Ivano Frankivsk Oblast

Rivne Oblast

In the Rivne Oblast, Secret Service of Ukraine employees stopped the activities of a local resident who was a supporter of the russian military aggression against Ukraine and openly promoted pro-Kremlin narratives on banned social networks and among her acquaintances. This person is a citizen of the russian federation and has a permanent residence permit in Ukraine. She was informed of the suspicion, and the case materials were referred to the court.

The strategy for the transition from military service to civilian life will be implemented in the Rivne Oblast. An online meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Veteran Affairs of Ukraine Yulia Laputina. The focus of attention is on the adaptation of soldiers to peaceful life after the end of service. Assistants will help veterans to speed up and improve communication with state and non-state structures, obtain certificates, undergo advanced training, get a job, etc.

Chernivtsi Oblast
