Northern Oblasts

Kyiv

On the night of May 16, the enemy attacked Kyiv. The vast majority of enemy targets in Kyiv's airspace were identified and destroyed. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, the debris of the rocket fell on the territory of the zoo. None of the animals or workers were injured.

Several cars caught fire in the Solomyanskyi district. The building with an area of ​​200 square meters is damaged. Three people were injured. In the Darnytskyi district of the capital, two cars were damaged as a result of falling rocket fragments. There was no information about the victims.


Kyiv Oblast

In Vorzel, Kyiv Oblast, they started building a modular town for immigrants. Up to 15 families will be able to settle there. The project is being implemented by the Ukrainian architectural company Balbek Bureau, the Bucha City Council informs.


Zhytomyr Oblast

Oleksandr Shvetsov, a native of Zhytomyr and a veteran of the anti-terrorist operation, is walking to Kyiv with a prosthesis to raise over 3.5 million hryvnias for a gastroscope for a military hospital. His brother Serhiy Khrapko is coming to meet him from the capital. The boys have to cover 60 kilometers each, and everyone willing can help reduce this distance.

Volunteers handed over two Iveco Magirus all-wheel drive trucks to one of the Zhytomyr military units. These cars were purchased in Denmark at the expense of the Zhytomyr community.

The military logo of the city in patriotic colors is embroidered in Zhytomyr. They plan to make such a gift for the Day of Vyshyvanka. All willing Zhytomyr residents are invited to join.


Sumy Oblast

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Over the yesterday, the russian occupiers fired artillery, mortars, and aircraft at populated areas of the Kharkiv, Kupyansk, and Chuguyiv raions of the Oblast.

Unfortunately, 2 civilians - a man and a woman - were killed as a result of artillery shelling of the village of Dvorichna in the Kupyansk raion. Another man received shrapnel wounds and was hospitalized.

Yesterday evening, the enemy massively shelled Vovchansk, Chuguyiv raion. At least 3 residential buildings, farm buildings, a local hospital building were damaged, several shells hit the open area.

In the village of Tyschenkivka, Kupyansk raion, at least 4 residential buildings and farm buildings were damaged, and fires broke out as a result of shelling from multiple rocket launchers.

Demining works are ongoing in the Oblast. Over the past day, the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service have neutralized 99 explosive objects.


Donetsk Oblast

On May 15, russian soldiers shelled 16 settlements in the Donetsk Oblast. As a result of shelling in Donetsk Oblast, 15 residential buildings, educational institutions, a hospital, a church, a power line, a building of a special institution, railway infrastructure, and an official car were destroyed and damaged. 

On May 15, the russians killed 4 residents of Donetsk Oblast — in Avdiyivka. In addition, the body of a person who died during the occupation was exhumed in Bogorodychne. 4 more people in the Oblast were injured.

Since February 24, 2022, russian weapons have killed 1,514 civilians in Donetsk Oblast and wounded another 3,531. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.


Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion

The russian military shelled Kramatorsk at night and hit the sleeping area of ​​the city. 3 high-rise buildings and a boiler house were damaged. There are no casualties or injuries.

Residents of the condominium, next to which the russian rocket hit that night, have been sweeping, raking, and pouring the consequences of the «russian world» into the funnel from the rocket since the very morning.

At night, the russian military shelled Kostyantynivka from the S-300 and damaged five objects on the territory of the former military commissariat, a school, and a gas pipeline. There are no casualties or injuries.

In the Lysychansk direction, a school and a shop in Pereizne of the Zvanivka community, a house and an administrative building in Siversk were damaged. Torske, Zarichne, and Ozerne of the Lyman community came under fire.

The body of a person who died during the occupation was exhumed in Bogorodychne.

In Slovyansk, more than 8 million hryvnias were allocated from the local budget for the repair of apartment buildings and two schools damaged by shelling of the russian army.

The car park of the Slovyansk City Hospital No. 1 in Donetsk Oblast was replenished with the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Ambulance. It was donated by the Independent Danish humanitarian non-profit organization Bevar Ukraine.

A culinary event was held in Kramatorsk for International Family Day. Parents and children prepared traditional Ukrainian dishes. Such emotionally relieving events are regularly held by volunteers for the residents of the front-line city.


Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion

In the Donetsk direction, a person was injured in Pervomaisk of the Ocheretyn community. 3 houses were damaged in Krasnohorivka, there were isolated shellings in Avdiyivka.

The Kurakhove community came under fire four times: 3 houses were damaged in Ostrivske, houses on 3 streets in Hostre, 1 house and 2 business buildings in Kurakhiv.

On May 15, four people died as a result of enemy shelling in Avdiyivka.

On the morning of May 16, russian troops launched an air-missile attack on the Avdiyivka Coke Plant, firing four missiles. There are no casualties or injuries. 

Representatives of the International Medical Corps visited the medical facilities of the Pokrovsk community. They study the needs of the displaced people living in the territory of the community. They are ready to provide assistance to those who find themselves in difficult life circumstances and victims of the war. After the needs are formed, the organization will be able to provide targeted humanitarian aid to people.


Bakhmut and Bakhmut raion

Heavy fighting continues for Bakhmut. During the past day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the direction of the settlement of Ivanovske.

As of the morning of May 16, "Wagner" military units continued to advance and clear Ukrainian positions in the center of Bakhmut. At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are stabilizing the flanks of the city in their favor.

During several days, Ukrainian fighters liberated about twenty square kilometers in the north and south of the suburbs of Bakhmut.

Chasiv Yar came under intense fire — 1 person was injured, 17 private and 3 apartment buildings were damaged.

On May 15, the policemen who were on their way to evacuate and came under fire near Chasiv Yar, received contusions and brain injuries. After the medical examination, the "White Angels" returned in another car and evacuated nine residents of Bakhmut and one child.

In the Soledar community, Minkivka, Vasyukivka and Rozdolivka were under fire.


Volnovakha and Volnovakha raion

1 airstrike and 48 shellings of Vuhledar were recorded in the Volnovakha direction. Novoukrayinka, Prechistivka and Maksimivka are also under fire.


Southern Oblasts

Mykolayiv Oblast

Tonight, from May 15 to 16, the forces and means of air defense of the "Southern" air command shot down four russian "Calibre" sea-based cruise missiles launched by the occupiers from the Black Sea.

Yesterday, the enemy fired artillery at the water area of ​​the Ochakiv community. There were no injuries or damage.

In Mykolaiv, Pervomaisk, Voznesensk and Bashtanka raions, the day and night passed relatively calmly.


Zaporizhzhia Oblast

During the past day, May 15, the russian military shelled 14 populated areas of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast: they carried out 2 airstrikes, attacked 12 times with anti-aircraft missiles and used artillery 76 times.

In the temporarily occupied Berdyansk, they are looking for people who will agree to work in the prison created by the russians, located on the territory of the correctional colony No. 77.

The russians force people who defected to the side of the russia in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast to renounce Ukrainian citizenship and accept russian citizenship.

In Zaporizhzhia, they reported the suspicion to an ex-law enforcement officer who justified the war and wanted to join the "Wagner" PMC.


Odesa Oblast

On the night of May 16, in the Mykolaiv Oblast, the forces and means of air defense of the Southern Air Command shot down four russian sea-based cruise missiles of the "Calibre" type, launched by the occupiers from the Black Sea.

In total, the enemy attacked Ukraine with 18 missiles and 9 drones. All of them were destroyed by means of anti-aircraft defense of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.


Kherson Oblast

Yesterday, the russian aviation made another attack on Stanislav and Kizomys in the Kherson Oblast. Russian troops also shelled Kherson.

In total, during May 15, russian troops shelled Kherson Oblast 80 times, Kherson - 14 times. Shells hit residential quarters and an educational institution. Six people, including a child, were injured.

During the night and this morning, the russian aviation dropped two guided bombs on Kizomys, one damaged property, the other hit the coastline.

The russian army also shelled Tokarivka and hit the destroyed Daryiv Bridge nine times. There are no dead or injured.

At night, the russian army fired 120-millimeter mortars at the territory of the utility company in Kherson, which supplied the townspeople with electricity. A fire broke out, equipment worth millions of hryvnias was damaged.

In some communities of the temporarily occupied Kherson Oblast, men between the ages of 25 and 50 are given summonses and called to join the so-called "defense battalions".

Pyrotechnicians of the State Emergency Service defused 105 explosive devices in de-occupied settlements of the Kherson Oblast. More than six hectares, about half a kilometer of gas pipeline and six kilometers of power lines were surveyed.


Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Last night the enemy shelled Nikopol Raion with artillery fire. The Chervonohryhorivka community was hit, but Nikopol itself was hit the hardest. At the moment, we know about three casualties. One of them is a 14-year-old girl who was hospitalized and is in satisfactory condition. Several fires broke out in the city - outbuildings and infrastructure were on fire. Rescuers have already extinguished all the fires. 14 five-story buildings and 7 private houses were damaged. One outbuilding was destroyed and another 8 were damaged. Five cars were also damaged. Three private enterprises and a service station were damaged.

A master class in Mykolaiv painting was organized in Dnipro. At the Museum of Holodomor Resistance, the class was conducted by artists Hanna Byrsa and Angela Lahoda. This type of decorative painting comes from the village of Mykolaivka in the Dnipro region.


Poltava Oblast

Juvenile prosecutors of Poltava Oblast found that the temporary shelter of a Poltava secondary school was not provided with fire extinguishing equipment, drinking and industrial water, food storage containers, and medicines. After a request was sent to the management of the school and the Department of Education of the Poltava City Council, the violation was eliminated, and the person responsible for the maintenance of the shelter was reprimanded.

The Poltava bookstore "Sustenance" collected 1437 kg of russian and russian-language books and handed them over for recycling. The proceeds will be used for the rehabilitation of Aidar junior sergeant Andriana Susak.


Cherkasy Oblast

Air defense forces shot down a drone in Cherkasy Oblast during a nighttime alert. No damage or injuries were reported.

The Association of Ukrainians from the Spanish city of Murcia donated 20 tons of humanitarian aid to Cherkasy Oblast. This is the fourth such aid since the full-scale invasion. Baby food, juice, coffee, milk, and sweets are intended for children, large families, IDPs, children's hospitals, and the military. The cargo was delivered thanks to donations from Ukrainians, including 50 thousand hryvnias raised at a dance festival.

Cherkasy students bought books for children in Kherson. The charity event was organized by Cherkasy Specialized School No. 20. Students, parents and teachers collected waste paper and used the proceeds to buy 56 children's books for the youngest students. The books were handed over to Kherson Specialized School #52 with in-depth study of the Ukrainian language.


Western Oblasts

Rivne Oblast

Soldiers of the reserve battalion of the Regional Directorate of the Territorial Defense Forces "West" have completed their training in Rivne Oblast. During four weeks of intensive training, men and women learned to shoot from various types of weapons, mastered the basics of military tactics, sapper work and medical care for injuries, etc.

The region continues to defend its northern borders. Anti-tank ditches are being constructed, surveillance cameras are being installed, and quadcopters and off-road vehicles are being purchased. They also restore equipment that has been in the combat zone. In addition, the Rivne Regional Military District organized special transportation on 155 routes. All this is funded by the defense budget.

During the period of martial law, more than 900 IDPs have been helped to find jobs in Rivne Oblast. Last year, with the assistance of employment centers, 750 unemployed IDPs found jobs, and this year - almost one and a half hundred. Most of them were employed in the areas of trade, car repair, processing industry, and catering.


Khmelnytskyi Oblast

About 600 private residential buildings were damaged by a blast wave in the Chornyi Ostriv community as a result of shelling by the russian military on May 13. At a session of the village council, they amended the care program and allocated funds for financial assistance to people whose homes were damaged. The amount is UAH 5 million.

In six medical facilities in Khmelnytskyi Oblast, people can undergo inpatient rehabilitation free of charge. The service is available to civilians and military personnel.

May 16-20 marks the anniversary of the Mariupol garrison's withdrawal from Azovstal. On May 18, the Staroushytska community in Khmelnytskyi Oblast organizes a bicycle ride "Warriors of Light. Azov - a year in captivity".


Kamianets-Podilskyi

Charity fairs were held in four Kamyanets-Podilsky preschools, as well as in Rychtiv and Kniahynyne institutions, with proceeds going to help the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Together, parents, teachers, and employees managed to raise almost 40 thousand hryvnias for the needs of our defenders.


Chernivtsi Oblast

Deputies of the Chernivtsi Regional Council voted to ban the activities of religious organizations with ties to the aggressor country in Bukovyna.

In Bukovyna, pyrotechnics who participated in the demining of Donetsk Oblast were met. The head of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Chernivtsi Oblast presented the rescuers with awards for their courage and professionalism. Serhii Lohvynenko received the "For Demining" award, and Ivan Lakusta, Vasyl Melnychuk, and Ivan Frunchak were recognized with letters of thanks from the Main Directorate.

A Fiat Dukato car purchased and repaired at the expense of Kolobochyn villagers was handed over to a fellow villager who is defending Ukraine in the Bakhmut sector. Another car, a Mercedes ML-164, was delivered to soldiers in one of the hot spots of the frontline. The vehicle was serviced and repaired at the expense of the residents of Bilousivka starosta district. In addition, people collected food and other essentials for the defenders.

Residents of the village of Dovzhok in the Novoselytsia territorial community handed over another charitable aid for Ukrainian soldiers - goodies, medicines, and clothes.

Bukovyna hosted a regional unified event called "Safety. Road. Children" was held in Bukovyna as part of the 7th Global Road Safety Week. The event featured exhibitions of children's drawings and quizzes on traffic rules.


Zakarpattia Oblast

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the United Nations Development Program has provided assistance to Zakarpattia communities worth more than UAH 8 million.

The Pylypets community in Khust Raion is reconstructing a long-term accommodation facility for internally displaced persons. The project is being implemented jointly with Czech partners. The work is scheduled to be completed in July this year.

Today, 22 large IDP families received help from the Uzhhorod City Organization of the Red Cross Society.
