Northern Oblasts

Kyiv

That night, the aggressor again carried out a massive drone attack. According to preliminary information, "Shahed" barrage ammunition was used. They were destroyed by air defense forces. As a result of falling debris, a residential building caught fire in the Dniprovskiy district, the fire was extinguished. No victims. In Darnytskyi, the service station building and parked cars were damaged. In Pechersk, there is damage to the windows of a residential building, and in Solomyansky district, the road surface and vehicles are damaged.

A year ago, the defenders of Mariupol left Azovstal. A procession with the slogan "We are waiting for the heroes of Mariupol" took place in Khreschatyk. Hundreds of people came to support the captured defenders. 1,900 soldiers of the Mariupol garrison still remain in russian captivity. 

Kyiv Oblast

That night, the russians attacked Kyiv Oblast with drones. The nighttime alarm lasted more than 2.5 hours. Air defense was actively working. No hits were recorded. There are no victims or injured.

In Kyiv and the Kyiv Oblast, 5,000 consumers were disconnected due to technological violations.

Currently, the vast majority of them have already been healed. However, the repair works are still ongoing.

Kyiv Oblast will receive $1 million worth of windows to be installed at facilities damaged by the full-scale russian invasion. Such assistance will be provided by the Global Empowerment Mission organization in partnership with the Howard G. Buffett Foundation. It is planned to equip 70 private houses, which will be comprehensively rebuilt in Irpin, shelters in schools, to carry out comprehensive reconstruction of private and multi-apartment housing in Brovary and Bucha raions.

In the village of Velyka Dymerka, locals are planting vegetable gardens right between the damaged equipment of the occupiers. Also, the owners of the plot of land started rebuilding the house destroyed during the hostilities that took place in Kyiv Oblast in February-March last year.

Zhytomyr Oblast

ATO veteran from Zhytomyr, Oleksandr Shvetsov, together with his brother from Kyiv, Serhiy Khrapko, ran the "Born from the Flame" marathon to raise money for equipment for the Kyiv hospital. Having overcome the distance from Zhytomyr to Kyiv on foot on a prosthesis, the men also received an award from the National Register of Records of Ukraine. 

An art zone was opened in one of Zhytomyr's libraries, among the exhibits of which is a seven-meter-long home-made towel by the 60-year-old writer Yevhen Kontsevich. Famous personalities left their signatures on the towel, including Boris Ten and Vyacheslav Chornovil.

In the Malyn community, together with Zhytomyr animal protectionists, they began to capture homeless animals for sterilization. With the beginning of a full-scale war, there were significantly more homeless animals on the streets of the community.

Chernihiv Oblast

Yesterday evening, the russians shelled the border areas of Chernihiv Oblast. The recorded three explosions were probably fired from a rack-mounted automatic grenade launcher in the area of ​​the village of Gremyach, in the Novgorod-Siversk community. Also, two villages in the Semenivska community in the bordering Chernihiv Oblast came under fire.

The Danish company ROCKWOOL delivered 3,600 square meters of mineral wool in special packaging. 24 families from Ivanovka have already received insulation. 10 diesel generators also arrived. They will be distributed among critical infrastructure facilities as needed.

Sumy Oblast

At night, the russian military shelled the border areas of Sumy Oblast three times. 26 explosions were recorded. The communities of Khotyn and Bilopillya were shelled.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

The russian army carried out airstrikes in the areas of Hlyboke, Pletenivka, and Zemlyanka settlements in the Slobojan direction, as well as near Hryhorivka, Vilshanaya, and Kislivka in the Kupyansk direction.

In Rusky Tyshki, a 43-year-old man blew himself up on a mini-petal in his own yard. Hospitalized in moderate condition.

Donetsk Oblast

On May 19, the russians killed 2 residents of Donetsk Oblast— in the city of Chasiv Yar. 2 more people in the region were injured.

Since the day of russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, the aggressor has lost the lives of 1,525 civilians of Donetsk Oblast and injured another 3,554. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion

Around 5 a.m. on May 20, the russian military shelled Slovyansk and hit a private house. There are no casualties or injuries. As a result of shelling, 10 private houses were damaged.

In the Lysychansk direction, 1 house in Zvanivka and 2 houses in the Lyman community were damaged: in Torske and Zarichne.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

In the Donetsk sector, near Avdiivka, the enemy conducted offensive actions in the direction of Novokalynove, Stepove, Avdiivka, and Pervomaiske, but was unsuccessful.

During the day, they conducted an air strike near Avdiivka. Artillery shelling was carried out in the vicinity of seven settlements.

Defense forces repelled more than 20 enemy attacks near the town of Mariinka.

At the same time, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Maryinka, Kurakhove, and Katerynivka came under enemy fire.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

Heavy fighting continues in Bakhmut. The situation is critical. Ukrainian troops are holding the defense in the area of "Litak".

On May 19, the russian military shelled Chasiv Yar with artillery, killing two civilians and damaging a house. Russian soldiers shelled Toretsk with "Grad", "Uragan" and artillery, the Donetsk police reported. The shelling destroyed and damaged 14 residential buildings, factory workshops, a mine, warehouses, outbuildings, garages, and cars.

In Nykyforovka of the Soledar community, 13 houses were damaged. Poltavka of the Illinivska community was hit by a rocket attack, damaging an outbuilding.

Police evacuated 10 civilians from Bakhmut, including a 14-year-old girl.

Volnovakha and Volnovakha Raion

In the Volnovakha sector, Vuhledar came under an air strike and 21 artillery shelling. Two houses were damaged in Bohoyavlenka. Prechystivka came under shelling 4 times, Novoukrainka - twice.

Luhansk Oblast

The intensity of artillery duels has increased in Luhansk Oblast, and russians are amassing reserves in the territory of the Sievierodonetsk community.

The enemy's pressure on the local population is constantly growing - this includes forced ''passportization'', restrictions on movement between cities, and mobilization.

In the cities occupied last year, people do not have enough money for food and have problems with employment, as the invaders have not created new jobs.

Mariupol

Today marks one year since the russian army occupied Mariupol, when the last defenders of Azovstal left the plant. The battle for the city lasted 86 days, 82 of which were completely surrounded.

Three powerful explosions occurred in Mariupol Raion yesterday. One of them hit the location of the occupants' warehouse on the territory of the Mariupol airport.

Southern Oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast

On May 19, russian troops shelled the town of Ochakiv in Mykolaiv Oblast, damaging private houses. No one was killed or injured.

Today, three kilometers away from the town of Snihurivka, the community's landfill was used for the planned destruction of explosive devices.

On May 20, Mykolaiv hosted a special redemption of postage stamps and artistic envelopes "Mykolaiv - the capital of lighthouses of Ukraine". The issue consists of six basic stamps, postal blocks of nine stamps and envelopes of three types.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

Over the past day, on May 19, the russian military shelled 16 settlements in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Aviation, artillery, MLRS and drones were used. Nine people were injured.

In addition, 4 fires occurred in Zaporizhzhia and Pohohiv Raions of the region as a result of russian shelling. Residential buildings and outbuildings were burning. Three people were injured.

Russian troops open floodgates and thus flood and mine already sown fields in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Odesa Oblast

More than 400 pizzas for air defense units operating in Odesa Oblast were made by representatives of the Kyiv Regional social assistance center and secondary school #27. The pizzas were packed in boxes with wishes and words of gratitude for protecting the Odesa sky.

Thanks to the efforts of the Odesa 5T Grant Office, the rehabilitation department of the City Clinical Hospital No. 1 received new expensive medical equipment. It is used for cognitive rehabilitation even at severe stages of brain disease. Such rehabilitation helps patients with cognitive impairment to adapt to everyday life.

Kherson Oblast

During May 19, the russian army hit Kherson Oblast 53 times with heavy artillery, «Grads», tanks, drones and aviation. In Kherson - twice. Shells hit residential quarters, a gas station in Beryslav raion. There are no casualties or injuries.

Over the past 24 hours, russian troops have struck settlements in five communities of the Beryslav raion. The russian Air Force once again dropped bombs on Beryslav, killing two people.

Yesterday, the russian aviation once again struck Kizomys in the Kherson Oblast. Zolota Balka, Beryslav, Zelenivka, Stepanivka and Kherson were under fire from russian troops.

Today, at around 4 o'clock in the morning, russian aircraft struck Beryslav and Kindyitsa near Kherson. A shell hit a private house in Beryslav. A man and a woman died under the rubble. There is a wounded man in Kindyitsa. 

A tractor driver was blown up by a russian explosive near the village of Klapaya. A 48-year-old man has multiple shrapnel wounds.

The russian occupiers took about a hundred boats from the residents of the temporarily occupied Kherson Oblast. The seized boats were «officially» handed over to the units of the russian army for balance. In this way, the occupiers are trying to solve the problem of the shortage of watercraft.

Russian troops in the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson Oblast are threatening deportation and have intensified counterintelligence measures. In the Kakhovka raion, newly arrived servicemen are accommodated not only in vacant houses, but also in houses where the owners live. People who are outraged are threatened.

Also, the number of roadblocks has been significantly increased on the roads between populated areas, meticulous checks of vehicles and documents are being carried out.

In Kakhovka, for refusing a russian passport, the russian military threatens to cut off electricity or forcibly evict. Demonstration raids are conducted on homes, residents are registered and psychologically pressured to speed up passporting.

It is forbidden to collect scrap metal from the remains of military equipment in the Kherson Oblast. This is due to the need to document the consequences of military aggression and the crimes of the russian military.

Seven shelters were repaired in the Kherson community. Six storage facilities are open in Kherson and one in the village of Zymivnyk. Today, 15 more bomb shelters are being repaired in the Oblast.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Defenders of Mariupol Day was celebrated in Kryvyi Rih. The memory of the fallen soldiers was commemorated at the central cemetery. Military chaplains conducted a prayer service. Also, in honor of the soldiers who defended Mariupol, bikers rode in a column through the central streets of the city.

In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, a hand-to-hand combat tournament was held in memory of coach and champion Vadym Sotnikov and athletes who died on the front lines. 250 participants from Kryvyi Rih, Dnipro, Kamianske, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv gathered for the final.

Kirovohrad Oblast

In Kirovohrad Oblast, employees of the SSU Directorate exposed an enemy propagandist, a resident of Onufrievka community. On his pages of the Odnoklassniki social network, banned in Ukraine, he justified the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine. During the searches, a phone and a tablet with evidence of illegal activity were found. SSU investigators informed the propagandist about the suspicion of committing a criminal offense.

In Kropyvnytskyi, a newly constructed rehabilitation complex «St. Luke's Hospital» was opened. The institution is developing rehabilitation, in particular, for wounded Ukrainian soldiers.

Poltava Oblast

In Poltava, new names for 95 streets were approved at the city council session. Poltava residents chose new toponyms by voting. In total, almost 30,000 votes were cast for them.

Poltava volunteers handed over 6.5 tons of products to defenders. 2.7 tons of food kits were sent from the Oblast humanitarian headquarters.

Western Oblasts

Chernivtsi Oblast

Bukovyna`s resident is suspected of treason - he probably passed on information to the General Staff of the russian federation about objects in Kharkiv. Later he returned to Chernivtsi, where he was detained when he tried to film strategic objects. He faces 15 years in prison or life imprisonment.

An inclusive children's playground was officially opened in Chernivtsi. From now on, children have a modern play area for active recreation and communication. The field meets all European standards.

A reproduced embroidered shirt of the Ukrainian writer Olga Kobylyanska was presented at the Museum of Vyshyvanka. The original is kept in her museum in Chernivtsi. The shirt is embroidered in yellow-red colors with golden stripes.

Zakarpattia Oblast

The 13th bathing and laundry complex was handed over to the military from the Mukachevo raion. The car was purchased by joint efforts of entrepreneurs from the Mukachevo raion. And thanks to the communal enterprise «Komunal» and the employees of the Polyana village council, it was able to be converted for the needs of military personnel in just a week. Four washing machines are installed in the trailer, a bathhouse, shower cabins, etc. have been created.

Zakarpattia is the leader in the cost of renting one-room apartments among all Oblasts of Ukraine. The average cost of renting a one-room apartment in Zakarpattia as of April 2023 was more than 13,100 hryvnias. Prices have increased by more than 50% since December 2022.
