Northern Oblasts

Kyiv

Another 22 Ukrainian soldiers managed to return home from captivity. All of them are soldiers of the Armed Forces, including two officers, enlisted and non-commissioned officers. There are wounded among those released. 

Kyiv Oblast

The leader of "Ghosts of Kyiv" Mykhailo Matyushenko from Bucha was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. The President presented the award to his wife and daughter. The legendary pilot died in air combat over the Black Sea on June 26, 2022.

The government has allocated almost UAH 2.5 billion for the reconstruction of Kyiv Oblast. A list of 38 objects, for the restoration of which these funds will be directed, has been approved. These are apartment buildings, kindergartens and schools in various communities.

As a result of the full-scale invasion of the russians, 130 medical institutions were destroyed or damaged in the Kyiv Oblast. To date, 101 has been partially and completely restored.

The consequences of yesterday's bad weather are being eliminated in the Kyiv Oblast. Bucha, Fastiv, Obukhiv raions were the most affected. Strong gusty winds uprooted trees, which destroyed supports and snapped power lines. 34 settlements have been cut off, 6,278 homes remain without electricity. 

Several fires occurred in the Kyiv Oblast due to lightning strikes. Currently, the yellow level of danger has been declared. 

Zhytomyr Oblast

In 2023, almost 400 citizens of Ukraine from various oblast began their service in the 9th border detachment named after Sich Riflemen in Zhytomyr Oblast.

The "Strong of Ukraine" veterans' competition took place in Zhytomyr. They were organized for participants in hostilities, veterans and members of their families. More than 100 athletes took part.

 

Chernihiv Oblast

On August 6, border guards recorded 54 explosions in the Chernihiv border detachment. In addition to Snovske, the Novgorod-Siverskyi and Horodnyanka communities also came under fire. In particular, in the Novgorod-Siverskyi community, the occupiers shelled three villages with barrel artillery: Mykhalchyna Sloboda, Bogdaniv and Gremyach. There were 40 parishes in total. Also, two mortar rounds were recorded in the direction of the village of Senkivka of the Horodnya community.

Sumy Oblast

During the day of August 6, the russian army shelled 7 communities of Sumy Oblast, 139 explosions were recorded. There is damage in Seredyno-Buda and Khotyn communities.

During the night and morning of August 7, russian military shelled three communities of Sumy Oblast: Nova Sloboda, Seredino-Buda, and Khotyn. There were no victims and destruction of civil infrastructure.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

The russian military attacked the village of Kucherivka in the Kupyansk community with a guided aerial bomb and hit a house, two people were killed and three were injured.

In Kharkiv, a railway worker monitored the movement of echelons of military equipment to the front line and photographed the consequences of russian attacks on infrastructure. The man was informed of the suspicion, he faces up to eight years in prison.

Last week, in the direction of Kupyansk, the russian army tried to break through the Ukrainian defenses, but they did not succeed.

Kharkiv Oblast became the first oblast in Ukraine in terms of the number of cluster munitions used by russia. Based on this fact, 145 proceedings were opened in the oblast.

Donetsk Oblast

The night in Donetsk Oblast passed relatively calmly, no information was received about the victims.

Since February 24, 2022, the russians have killed 1,644 civilians of Donetsk Oblast, wounded another 3,932. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion

Yesterday, 3 streets in Siversk were shelled by the enemy in the Lysychansk direction, and 4 shellings were recorded in the Lyman community.

In the morning, the russians shelled Rai-Olexandrivka of the Mykolaiv community - 6 houses and the administration building were damaged.

In Kramatorsk, you can once again register a marriage. Today, on August 7, for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, newlyweds got married in the city. In addition, access to other public services in the city was restored.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

Over the past day, the occupants massively shelled Avdiivka and Maryinka communities. No one was injured or killed. 

In the Donetsk sector, a house in Selydove was damaged.  

Russian occupants are trying to encircle Avdiivka and completely capture Maryinka, but are not successful.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

In the Horlivka sector, the enemy dropped a bomb on Sukha Balka in the Toretsk community, damaging a house. In the Chasiv Yar community, 5 houses were damaged.

Volnovakha and Volnovakha Raion

In the Volnovakha sector, Vuhledar and Novoukrainka came under fire from the russian military.

Mariupol

In Mariupol, the russian military is using a new tactic of hiding: they are hiding in buildings that are supposedly intended for "repair". This does not attract the attention of the locals, as there are dead neighborhoods around.

The occupiers opened a supermarket in the morgue building. According to local public reports, the bodies of killed Mariupol residents used to be stored there, but now they sell food.

The occupation authorities of Mariupol intend to "russify" the city. To do this, they are introducing a russian curriculum in schools and forcing residents to obtain russian passports. And now the russians are also buying up property.

Luhansk Oblast

In the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk Oblast, the occupiers are mobilizing collaborators from the special services of the so-called "Luhansk people's republic" and the leadership of the occupation forces. Those mobilized are also prohibited from using phones, and those who violate the ban are severely punished.

Southern Oblasts 

Mykolaiv Oblast

A sea mine washed up on the Black Sea coast of Mykolaiv Oblast. 

The SBU detained a resident of Ochakiv who, according to the investigation, as a russian informant, was preparing a strike on Mykolaiv region during the visit of the President of Ukraine.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

Over the past day, August 6, russian troops shelled 24 localities in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. No one was killed or injured. In particular, the enemy fired at Novodanylivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast with chemical munitions, which are prohibited.

On August 6, rescuers extinguished 10 fires in Vasylivka and Polohy Raions of Zaporizhzhia, which were caused by shelling by the russian army.  

Odesa Oblast 

A storm brought a mine to the coast of Odesa Oblast, which spontaneously detonated. The explosion was recorded at a distance of more than a kilometer from the shore. The mine danger remains high.

The UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine, Denise Brown, condemned russia for the strike on Izmail and Ukrainian ports, which damaged thousands of tons of grain.   

Within the framework of the "Weeks of Good Deeds", the "Happy Society" Public Union held a free course for IDPs "Your steps in finding a job", and a children's party was held at the initiative of the "SpivDiia" charity foundation and with the support of partners from the "V azhuri" restaurant. The kids played games, made American cookies, and had their faces painted. At the initiative of the NGO "Votum", art therapy was organized for teenage IDPs from the Prymorskyi district.

Kherson Oblast

Over the past day, the russian military fired 99 shells at Kherson Oblast, 12 at the regional center. They were firing from mortars, artillery, " MRLS and drones. They hit residential areas and the territory of a dacha cooperative in Beryslav. Four people were wounded.

At night, russian troops shelled Kherson. The shells hit a private and an apartment building, causing fires. A woman died under the rubble of a private house. At least 15 people were wounded in the shelling. 

Two trucks with the bodies of russian soldiers arrived at the morgue in the temporarily occupied Chaplynka from the Kherson direction. They were buried in two locations.

In the Kherson Oblast, the former head of the Northern Correctional Colony No. 90 faces 12 years in prison. He is accused of deporting more than 1700 prisoners.  

Activists of the "Yellow Ribbon" movement print more than 200 posters a day in the temporarily occupied Henichesk, Kherson Oblast, and deliver them to Skadovsk, Zaliznyi Port, Kalanchak, and Novotroitske. 

The "Berehynia Tavriya" foundation received another batch of humanitarian aid from the NGO "Ukrainian Community in Norway". This time it is wheelchairs, walkers, and crutches. Volunteers have already delivered one of the wheelchairs to the Lviv Military Hospital and handed it over to one of the soldiers. The rest of the equipment will be sent to the Kherson Oblast. 

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

The russian army fired a missile at the Sinelnykivskyi Raion of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast at night on August 7. A fire broke out, which rescuers have already extinguished. No one was killed or injured. Also in the morning, the community of Myrivka in the Nikopol Raion was shelled. Information is being clarified. 

Soldiers from the Southern Command "East" shot down a russian drone in the sky over Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.  

A 36-year-old man was killed as a result of the shelling of Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast by russian troops on the afternoon of August 7. A 68-year-old local resident was injured. Private houses, outbuildings, and cars were damaged. A gas pipeline and power lines were damaged. 

Poltava Oblast

The mother of the fallen soldier of the amphibious assault troops Vitaly Ganaga from Poltava Oblast was presented with the order of her son. Vitaly Ganaga was a rifleman, together with his comrades he fought in Donetsk Oblast. He died in winter near Torske of Kramatorsk raion. The hero was posthumously awarded the Order «For Courage» III degree.

The sign «For Exemplary in Military Service» was posthumously awarded to the wife of 52-year-old senior soldier Oleksandr Yavtushenko. He was mobilized in March 2022. In November, he died near Yagidne, in the de-occupied Kharkiv Oblast.

The Center for Rehabilitation Medicine helps military and civilians recover from diseases of the musculoskeletal system, nervous systems or injuries.

The first recruitment of students to the newly established Poltava Lyceum with enhanced military and physical training, named after the Hero of Ukraine Vitaly Hrytsaenko, is underway. They accept boys and girls after the 9th grade.

Under the «Side by Side» project, 18 houses were repaired by teams from Poltava Oblast in two villages of Kherson Oblast: 11 - in Chkalove, 7 - in Pravdyne.

Cherkasy Oblast

In Cherkasy Oblast, since the beginning of the open invasion of the russian invaders into Ukraine, 45 parishes have transferred to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine from the Moscow Patriarchate, 19 of which - together with their priest.

More than half a thousand «Packages of Kindness» were sent to children from immigrant families by the publishing house of Cherkasy woman Nelia Raina, the founder of the «Read Ukrainian» project in just the last 6 months. The project started last year. This year, «Packages of Kindness» with books and sweets are sent to the children of fallen and captured servicemen.

 

Vinnytsia Oblast

To allocate one million two hundred thousand hryvnias for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - this decision was taken by deputies at the extraordinary 35th session of the Zhmerynka City Council.

Models of weapons used by soldiers to protect the Ukrainian sky, samples of enemy equipment, models of aircraft and examples of pilot equipment. Such exhibits can be seen in Vinnytsia at the

 «Wings of Ukraine» exhibition. It was organized by the Air Force Museum of the Armed Forces of Ukraine together with the tourism office.

 

Western Oblasts

Volyn Oblast

On the night of August 7, bad weather raged in Volyn: rain, thunderstorm and strong wind. Trees fell on the roads of the Oblast and power lines were broken.

In the village of Kniahynynok of the Lutsk community, the consequences of bad weather are being eliminated. Here, due to gusts of wind, the roofs of five houses were blown off, the roof of a motor vehicle company and two utility buses were damaged, and a private greenhouse was destroyed. Khmelnytskyi Oblast

Kamianets-Podilskyi

Over 4 million hryvnias for community education and over 150,000 hryvnias for management companies were allocated from the budget of Kamianets for the arrangement of shelters.

Volunteers of the Kamianets-Podilskyi «Ratusha [Town Hall]» public organization completed another humanitarian aid for animal rights activists in the South of Ukraine.

 

Ternopil Oblast

A festival was held in Zbarazh to raise funds for the Phoenix drone. Craftsmen from Ternopil Oblast joined the event, selling wood products, ceramics, straw, and dolls. A concert was organized for the visitors. 

The village of Byshki of the Kozova community in the Ternopil Oblast was called the capital of warring Ukraine in 1943-1945. A house has been preserved here, which now houses the department of the museum of the national liberation struggle of the OUN UPA. A replica of the hiding place was created in the village and a museum complex is planned to be opened. 

 

Zakarpattia Oblast

Transcarpathian rescue specialists have been demining the territory of Snigurivka, Mykolayiv Oblast, for 4 months. They have an area of ​​217 hectares. These are power lines, gas and water pipelines, fields and infrastructure facilities. 2 thousand 253 explosive objects were removed and neutralized.

In the Zakarpattia Oblast, the first salt was mined within the framework of the development of the Tereblia salt deposit, which is located in the Tyachiv raion. This event is of great importance for the food security of the country and the economic development of the Oblast: the deposit in Transcarpathia will be able to provide Ukraine with 100% of technical and table salt.
