Northern Oblasts 

Kyiv 

Almost 1,000 wounded soldiers will be able to undergo rehabilitation in the new rehabilitation space of Kyiv every year. It is planned to open in early 2023 on the basis of the Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.

Kyiv Oblast 

In the Vyshgorod raion today it was noisy - sappers were destroying explosive objects.

In the Kyiv Oblast, energy workers restored electricity to almost 36,000 families after the bad weather on August 6-7.

The communities of Kyiv Oblast received 8 school buses, purchased with funds from the state and local budgets. In total, 45 units of transport will be given to educational institutions of the region.

Zhytomyr Oblast 

In Zhytomyr Oblast, specialists of the SSU management found two more people who publicly supported and justified the armed aggression of russia against Ukraine and conducted anti-Ukrainian agitation.

 

Chernihiv Oblast 

Today, the russians attacked two communities on the border of Chernihiv Oblast with artillery. In the village of Senkivka of the Horodnya community, border guards counted three explosions, probably from barrel artillery.

Also, one explosion from barrel artillery was recorded in the village of Bleshnya of the Semenivka community.

Yesterday, August 7, border guards recorded 16 explosions from mortars and barrel artillery in the Novgorod-Siverske community near the village of Gremyach and in the Semenivka community near the village of Bleshnya. It was also loud in the Semenivska community. The military of russia probably fired with a 120 mm mortar.

Sumy Oblast 

During the day, the russian military carried out 88 strikes on the territory of Sumy Oblast. 7 settlements in 4 territorial communities were shelled. 2 private residential buildings and a car were damaged. 

During the night and morning, the russian military fired mortars at two settlements of the Khotyn community, 11 explosions were recorded.

In Sumy Oblast, due to bad weather, almost 6,000 consumers in 55 settlements remain without power.

Eastern Oblasts 

Kharkiv Oblast 

The russian military attacked Krugliakivka in the Kupyansk raion with four guided aerial bombs, hitting private houses. As of August 8, it is known there are about 9 wounded. Among them are two rescuers and two policemen. The number of dead increased to three: a 45-year-old woman, 52- and 65-year-old men died. Over the past three days, the russians have dropped 10 guided aerial bombs on Kruglyakivka. 

Today, the russia struck Kozacha Lopan, two men were wounded. They were hospitalized in serious and moderate conditions. 

A 14-year-old boy was injured as a result of shelling in Kupyansk on August 8. He was hospitalized in moderate to serious condition.

Donetsk Oblast

Since February 24, 2022, the russians have killed 1,649 civilians of Donetsk Oblast, and wounded another 3,962 people. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown. 

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion

3 houses were damaged in the Lysychansk direction in Siversk. In the Zvanivka community, a house in Pereizny was destroyed, and a house in Zvanivka was damaged.

The outskirts of Kramatorsk were also hit during the night - there were no casualties or injuries.

 

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion 

The night before, the russians hit Pokrovsk with "Iskanders". As of 11:00 - 7 dead and 88 wounded. Among them are children, 31 police officers, seven employees of the State Emergency Service and four military personnel. Among the dead are a rescuer and a soldier. They were mortally wounded during a repeated rocket attack on Pokrovsk. Twelve high-rise buildings, a hotel, buildings of the prosecutor's office and pension fund, pharmacies, shops, cafes and cars were damaged. 

In Pokrovsk, August 8 was declared a Day of Mourning for those killed in a double rocket attack on the city on August 7.

On the morning of August 8, the russian army bombarded Avdiyivka with tanks and artillery and launched an air missile attack on the city. 

In the Donetsk direction, a house in Selidovo, 7 houses in Uspenivka of the Kurakhove community were damaged. 

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

In the Bakhmut sector, russian troops fired 630 times at the positions of the Defense Forces with artillery, 10 battles took place, during which 67 russian occupants were killed and 118 wounded.

In the Horlivka sector, a school and 8 houses were damaged in the Chasiv Yar community, and a house in Shcherbynivka in the Toretsk community was destroyed.

Volnovakha and Volnovakha Raion

In the Volnovakha direction, Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, and Bohoyavlenka of the Vuhledar community, Burlatske, and Vilne Pole of the Komar community came under fire.

Luhansk Oblast

The village of Novolyubivka in Svatovo Raion of Luhansk Oblast was shelled by russian artillery, and as a result the bridge was completely destroyed.

Mykolaiv Oblast

This afternoon, russian troops shelled the Kutsurub community in Mykolaiv Oblast. A local resident turned to the hospital for help, bringing his two sons, aged 13 and 16, with mine-blast injuries. The shelling damaged residential buildings and vehicles.  

On September 9 and 10, Mykolaiv will host animation workshops and art therapy sessions for internally displaced children. The idea of the project is to give mothers a chance to relax while their children learn animation and spend time with their peers.elling of Krasnohorivka was recorded.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

Over the past 24 hours, on August 7, the russian army conducted 105 attacks on 30 settlements in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. 

Around 2 a.m., the aggressor country launched three strikes with S-300 missiles at the village of Yulivka, Zaporizhzhia Raion. The hangar of an agricultural enterprise was completely destroyed. Another hangar was damaged. Agricultural machinery was also damaged.  

Defense forces have advanced by "hundreds of meters" in the Melitopol direction, the Tavria military grouping reports. They continue to advance in the Berdiansk sector.

Odesa Oblast

In Odesa, a sailor who swore allegiance to russia and ordered the launch of missiles at Odesa and Mykolaiv in 2022 was found guilty of treason. The man was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Over the past day, the кussian army attacked Kherson Oblast 68 times. They fired 342 shells at the oblast and 18 at the city. They hit residential areas and the building of the "Point of Unbreakability" in Kherson. One person was killed and 13 were wounded.

The russian army shelled Mykilske in Kherson Oblast. They hit a house. A 50-year-old woman was wounded and hospitalized.

In the temporarily occupied settlements of the Kherson Oblast, in particular, in Kakhovka, the russian military spread fakes about the withdrawal of their troops. In addition, the russian military cut off russian mobile communications and wired Internet, while cars equipped with special electronic equipment to detect the operation of information transmitters were driving on the streets.

Over the past day, in Kherson Oblast, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed two russian subversive groups and two boats that were trying to maneuver between the islands.

In Kherson, a man was detained who worked in a local prison called "isolation facility No. 1", identified pro-Ukrainian Kherson residents, kept them in cells, and participated in torture. He faces up to 15 years in prison.

In Kherson, power engineers have reconnected more than 100 consumers who were disconnected due to flooding. Currently, 11.3 thousand people in the city are without electricity.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Two lyceums, 12 private houses, a gas pipeline, 4 power lines, and an energy facility were damaged as a result of shelling in Nikopol on the night of August 8. The russian army fought with heavy artillery and “Grads”. There are no dead or injured. On the morning of August 8, they struck Nikopol itself, information about the consequences is being clarified. 

A 34-year-old woman was injured as a result of the shooting down of a russian rocket in Dnipro raion yesterday. She has abrasions and will be treated at home.

Three doctors from the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast went on a business trip to the Kherson Oblast. In local medical facilities, they will help their colleagues save people.

Dnipro handed over a fire engine and a special vehicle for rescuing animals to the rescuers. The city received this technique from Cologne, Germany. Earlier, Cologne delivered to the Dnipro 5 large passenger buses, “fast” cars, a number of humanitarian and medical cargoes, equipment and equipment for hospitals and schools, and about 300 generators.

The issue of water supply in Nikopol is still open two months after the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP. Kirovohrad Oblast

Eight territorial communities of Kirovohrad Oblast received grant funds to support military personnel. The purpose of the grant programs is to strengthen the capacity of the community to reintegrate veterans, start or develop their own business by veterans, provide micro-grants for their own business, etc. This is implemented at the expense of international organizations, the governments of Germany and Korea, as well as the US National Endowment for Democracy, the state employment center.

 

Poltava Oblast

The cost of the construction of the military memorial at the Zaturyn cemetery was estimated at more than 20 million hryvnias. The deputies of the city council have already provided for full funding in the city budget. The memorial complex will consist of a commemorative stele, two memorial stele, four memorial plaques, flagpoles, paths and other amenities. Also, 96 unified tombstones of fallen soldiers will be built.

Residents of Poltava can donate russian books for recycling and help purchase a drone for rescuers in the Kharkiv Oblast. The event will be held on August 12 as part of the «City Picnic» festival for Youth Day. You can also bring Ukrainian literature. It will be sold for a nominal fee, and the funds will be used to purchase a drone.

 

Cherkasy Oblast

Three people from Cherkasy were released from captivity. Captain Yaroslav Hrushetskyi, senior sergeant Anatoly Hryshchenko and soldier Serhiy Hryb return home. Ahead of them is necessary treatment, a course of physical and psychological rehabilitation, reintegration.

At the session of the city council, about 95 million hryvnias were additionally directed to the support of the country's defense capability and social support of the defenders and their families. Funds were withdrawn from such directions as the construction of a landfill for solid household waste, repairs to the premises of educational institutions, major repairs to Peremogy Avenue, etc.

Students of one of the colleges in Cherkasy spend their vacations with benefits, helping to repair cars for our defenders. They learn to inspect cars, identify problems, paint them. Together with volunteer teachers, they have already repaired more than 30 cars.

A camp for internally displaced persons was organized in Cherkasy. It is a joint project of the Youth Resource Center and the “Forced to Leave” project. Currently, the 5th set has already been collected. There are 25 participants in the teams - both locals and immigrants. In order to make friends with young people, an educational program was invented for them.

 

Vinnytsia Oblast

Five years of imprisonment with confiscation of property - this is the sentence handed down by the court for the metropolitan of Tulchyn and Bratslav of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the moscow patriarchate, Ionafan. The priest was accused of justifying the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine.

An ambulance with resuscitation equipment and medical supplies, a jeep, six radios and two night vision devices were handed over to Ukrainian defenders by Vinnytsia volunteers together with British volunteers. The 81st and 95th brigades received such assistance.

 

Western Oblasts

Rivne Oblast

Rescuers from Rivne continue to demine the de-occupied territories. In particular, sappers in the Kherson Oblast, more than 73 hectares of territory were examined, where more than 350 explosive objects were discovered and destroyed. In the Mykolayiv Oblast - 12 hectares, where 80 ammunition were destroyed. 

610 tons of humanitarian aid - Rivne Oblast continues to support Kherson Oblast. These are drinking water, fuel, filters for water purification, heat guns, boats, wetsuits. As well as electric generators, electric pumps and motorized pumps for pumping out water, construction tools and materials. 20.9 million hryvnias were allocated from local budgets to help Kherson Oblast.

 

Volyn Oblast

According to the order of the mayor, all educational and medical institutions of the Lutsk community will check the availability and serviceability of alternative power sources, which will be needed in the event of a blackout.

 

Lviv Oblast

Ukrainian defenders with injuries took part in rope jumping in Lviv. Jumping with ropes was organized by representatives of the charity fund «With an angel on my shoulders», which is engaged in military rehabilitation. 5 fighters who are currently in Lviv Oblast took part in the event.

 

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

Kamianets-Podilskyi

Chechen Husein Dukaev, who has been living in Ukraine since 1990, grows apples, pears and plums in the Kamianets-Podilskyi raion. He will donate part of it to the Ukrainian army, because he considers himself a citizen of Ukraine, obliged to help the defenders in this war.

 

Chernivtsi Oblast 

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny awarded the resident of the city of Kitsman Ivan Tkachuk with the «Golden Cross». Andriy Kyrychyk, a combat medic from Bukovyna, received a Wolverine Beret from the commander of the 68th Separate Huntsman Brigade.

In the Yurkivtsi community, the opening of the Memorial Alley to fallen heroes took place. Portraits of 11 residents of the community who did not return from the war were placed near the village council. A memorial service was held for the fallen defenders.

Repair work has been completed in the Khotyn psychoneurological boarding house. In 2022-2023, thanks to the International Organization for Migration, it was possible to reconstruct bathrooms, kitchens and laundry facilities for the amount of over UAH 1.1 million. Currently, 194 women live here, 54 of them are immigrants.

Support for the Kherson Oblast from the Novoselytsia community: food kits, hygiene products, and home preservation were collected and handed over to the residents of war-affected areas.

Workshops, Cossack cuisine, singing and holi painting – «Donate Youth Fest» took place in Chernivtsi. At the event, money was collected for equipment for the 115th brigade.

Ukrainian embroidered shirts, woven carpets, and folk costumes from the currently occupied territories are being rescued: in the Chernivtsi museum, embroiderers continue to receive ancient items that are sent from war zones.  

Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast

12 forcibly displaced people live in a shelter that was opened in August 2023 in the village of Bodnariv of the Kalush community. The shelter is designed for 22 people.

«Education of a democratic citizen» and «Education of human rights» - such topics are discussed in the summer club, which operates on the basis of the Komarivskui Lyceum named after Antin Mohylnytskyi in the Halych community. The educational institution is one of the winners of the Swiss-Ukrainian DECIDE Summer Clubs project «We are at home in Ukraine».

 

Ternopil Oblast

An All-Ukrainian commemoration for the families of fallen servicemen was held in the village of Lishnya of the Kremenets community. It was attended by almost 1,300 people from 12 Oblasts. The liturgy was celebrated in the pantheon temple, which is being built in honor of the soldiers killed in the russian-Ukrainian war. On the walls of the temple are tables with the names of soldiers who died since 2014. 

Zakarpattia Oblast 

In Uzhgorod, a priest who called for prayers for the «reconciliation of the two nations» was removed from the service in the cathedral.

In Zakarpattia, another 79 monuments that are symbols of russian or soviet politics are to be dismantled. Within the scope of decolonization, more than 120 such objects have already been removed from public places of settlements in the Oblast.

Uzhgorod National University received 30 computers from its British partner, the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) as part of the «Twinning» support program for Ukrainian universities. Part of the equipment is already located in the Center for Information Technologies, where, in cooperation with public organizations, computer literacy courses are held for immigrants.
