Northern oblasts
Kyiv
A rally in support of captured Ukrainian defenders is held in the capital. Hundreds of people took to the streets calling for the return of prisoners of war, including the defenders of Azovstal. The relatives of the prisoners also gathered on the Maidan, demanding more intensive efforts to release the Ukrainian fighters.
The State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations allowed the stations and lobbies of the closed branch of the Kyiv subway to be used as shelters. The relevant agencies were instructed to further check the safety of such shelters.

Kyiv Oblast
Students of the Bucha community schools raised almost a million hryvnias to buy drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Together with their teachers, in all schools and kindergartens in the community, they organized charity fairs called "Give the Armed Forces a Kamikaze Drone" where they sold a variety of goodies. The first five attack drones have already been purchased and delivered to the front line with the funds raised. About 50 more have been ordered and will be delivered to military units within a month.
Zhytomyr Oblast
Ukraine continues to fortify and mine the border with belarus, although no actions have been recorded there that would pose a threat to Ukraine now.
Chernihiv Oblast
Russian troops used mortars and unmanned aerial vehicles to shell two border communities in the Chernihiv Oblast.
Sumy Oblast
On December 9, the russian military shelled 7 communities in the Sumy Oblast. 135 explosions were recorded.

At night, the russian army shelled four communities in the Sumy Oblast. 14 explosions were recorded.
In the Sumy Oblast, 6 settlements (622 consumers) were cut off from power supply due to shelling. In total, 51 settlements with 4,906 consumers are de-energized, 14 of them partially. Restoration works are ongoing.
Eastern oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
In the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled seven russian attacks in the areas of Synkivka and Petropavlivka.
More than 22 settlements of the Kharkiv Oblast came under russian artillery and mortar fire. As a result of the shelling, a dormitory of an educational institution was destroyed in Velykyi Burluk. The students are on distance learning, so there were no casualties. At least five private houses and outbuildings were damaged in Kupiansk.
A private house was damaged in Podoly, and a 51-year-old woman was wounded.
Donetsk Oblast
The russian army uses more drones in the Bakhmut sector, while aviation is more active in the Lyman-Kupiansk sector. On December 9, the russian military shelled these two sectors more than 800 times.
On December 9, it became known about one person who was killed earlier in Pereizne.
Since February 24, 2022, the russians have killed 1,789 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast, and wounded another 4,373. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion
In the Horlivka sector, 6 private houses and a multi-story building were damaged in the Chasiv Yar community. In the Soledar community, Rozdolivka and Vasiukivka came under fire.
Mariupol
Problems with public utilities continue in the occupied city. Due to the networks that have not been replaced, there are constant ruptures. In addition, there are problems with stations and voltage drops. People complain about the lack of light and heat in their homes and social institutions.
Instead of rebuilding the homes of the Mariupol residents that they destroyed, the invaders are building mortgage housing. Residents have nothing left but to live on the street.
Mariupol children undergo a free medical examination at the Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery in the capital. Providing medical consultations is one of the basic services of the YaMariupol (Je suis Mariupol) network of centers.
Luhansk Oblast
Immigrant children from the Luhansk Oblast were invited to make New Year's toys for the Christmas tree, which was installed by a volunteer from Sievierodonetsk Yuriy Shirokov at the border of the Oblast. In the Zaporizhzhia Oblast, the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled three attacks by the russian army near Novopokrovka and Robotyne.
Kherson Oblast
Yesterday, the russian military fired 264 shells from mortars, artillery, Grad MRLS, tanks, UAVs and aviation in the Kherson Oblast. They targeted residential quarters in populated areas of the Oblast and an educational institution in Kherson. One person died, four were injured.

In the temporarily occupied Henichesk Raion of the Kherson Oblast, police officers from the Investigative Committee of the russian federation conducted a raid in search of "underground members". They cordoned off the village, ransacked houses and tried to find informers of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Central oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
In the Kryvyi Rih Raion on the evening of December 9, air defense forces shot down a russian missile. In the afternoon, the russian army attacked Nikopol with two kamikaze drones. An infrastructure object, a warehouse building and a five-story building were damaged.
On the night of December 10, russian troops attacked Nikopol. Heavy artillery was used. The territory is being examined. There are no casualties or injuries.
Kirovohrad Oblast
Leonid Mamets, a soldier from the Pryiutivka settlement community of the Oleksandria Raion, received the "Golden Cross" from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny.
In the Kirovohrad Oblast budget for 2023, almost 80 million were provided for the social protection of the military. The money is sent to wounded soldiers and the families of the dead. Almost 31,200 veterans live in the Kirovohrad Oblast.
In the city of Oleksandria, an open military-sports all-around championship "Combat duel" was held, dedicated to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. More than 70 participants from Kremenchuk, Onufriivka and Oleksandria competed for prizes.
Poltava Oblast
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, almost 600 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have undergone rehabilitation therapy in the rehabilitation department for patients with musculoskeletal disorders of the Poltava Oblast Rehabilitation Hospital. The complex treatment course at the institution lasts from 14 to 21 days.
An image of Lenin was dismantled in the village of Lyman Pershyi, located in the Reshetylivka community. In Sazonivka, located in the Lubny Raion, the sickle and the hammer were removed.
Vinnytsia Oblast
Another transfer of aid for the military from the Interregional Coordination Humanitarian Headquarters went to the Kharkiv Oblast. We are talking about three Mavic drones and five thousand chemical heaters to protect the military from hypothermia in the winter period. The aid was given to the military unit, where most of the employees are residents of Vinnytsia and the Vinnytsia Oblast.

The serviceman Maxym Sanieiev from the village of Hlyboka received the award of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - the "Golden Cross" badge. Soldier Illia Kavtseniuk from the village of Drachyntsi was awarded the "Silver Cross".
One of the 58 enterprises operating in Chernivtsi produces prostheses for the military free of charge. On average, the company creates 15 prosthetic legs per month.
A large-scale charity festival "Ambassador of Childhood" was held in Chernivtsi. During the day, more than fifty locations worked for Bukovyna children and children who came from regions where active hostilities are taking place. They tried on the uniform of a policeman or rescuer, took master classes in robotics, drone control, karate, tourism, assembling a Kalashnikov assault rifle, making charms for Ukrainian soldiers, and visited various educational locations.
Students of Chernivtsi gymnasium No. 16 held a charity fair to purchase a drone for their teacher Vadym Humeniuk, who defends the country as part of the 93rd battalion.
Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast

Hungarian carriers will not block the border for truck traffic. On December 11, they planned to start a demonstration at the border near the Zakhon-Chop checkpoint.
