Zhytomyr Oblast

The mother of a captured soldier from the Azov regiment - Dmytro Kozatskyi with the call sign "Orest" from Zhytomyr region, told how she was waiting for him from russian captivity. He is called the eyes of Azovstal. He showed the whole world how the indomitable defenders of Mariupol lived in the ruins of the factory.

Zhytomyr Oblast topped the list of regions where the most collaborators were found. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

Instead of rust - blooming murals and the national flag: anti-tank hedgehogs were decorated in Zhytomyr. Anyone could join and draw a patriotic picture. A theatrical performance "Symbols of Ukraine" was also staged on Korolev Square.

Chernihiv Oblast

On August 21, russian troops shelled Semenivka and Horodnia hromadas in Chernihiv Oblast. Five 120 mm mines fell on the territory of the Horodnia community. The shelling was from the russian settlement of Chornozemny Gorodok.

At the same time, Semenivka hromada was shelled by the enemy from the russian village of Lomakivka with barrel artillery. Border guards recorded four explosions.

A resident of Chernihiv is suspected of justifying the actions of the invading country. The man distributed publications on the Odnoklassniki social network aimed at justifying russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.

A charity football tournament was held in Chernihiv at the "Yunist" stadium. Eight teams competed, including both professional players and amateurs. During the tournament, the organizers managed to collect 82 thousand hryvnias. These funds will be used to rebuild the homes of those people who were left homeless during the aggression.

Sumy Oblast

Yesterday, at around 5 p.m., a russian UAV dropped an explosive device on the territory of Velyka Pysarivka hromada.

Residents of Shostka will pay their last respects to defender Artem Yavor, who died in the russian-Ukrainian war. 

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Yesterday at about 21:00, the Kyivskyi District of Kharkiv was shelled with MLRS, private houses were damaged. A 35-year-old man was injured.

Around 3 a.m., the enemy launched 2 rocket attacks from Belgorod on the Kyivskyi District. An infrastructure facility was damaged.

During the past day, the russian invaders shelled the settlements of Lozova, Kharkiv, Bohodukhiv and Izium Raions of the Oblast.

In Lozova Raion, grass and wood lines were burning due to shelling.

An 83-year-old woman was injured in Zolochiv, Bohodukhiv Raion.

The enemy tried to go on the offensive in the directions of Dovhenke - Dibrivne, Brazhkivka - Nova Dmytrivka.

Donetsk Oblast

In the Kramatorsk direction, shelling was recorded near Rozdolivka, Hryhorivka, Verkhnyokamianske, Dronivka, and Serebryanka. The enemy is trying to conduct an offensive in the direction of Spirne - Vesele, the fighting continues.

In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy fired from barrel and rocket artillery near Opytne, Marinka, Pisky, Avdiivka, and Nevelske. The russians tried to conduct assault actions in the directions of Spartak – Opytne, Novoselivka Druga – Krasnohorivka, Donetsk – Pervomaiske, Pisky – Nevelske, Lozove – Nevelske, no success.

Another school in Donetsk Oblast became a target for russians — this time Kostiantynivka school No. 17. The enemy attacked the school around four in the morning - the building was seriously damaged, but no one was injured.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the russians have already damaged 594 educational institutions in Donetsk region, including 263 schools.

In addition, Toretsk suffered a rocket attack last night — without casualties, but there are damaged houses.

On August 21, the russians killed 2 civilians in Donetsk Oblast: in Heorhiivka and Kostiantynivka.

Since February 24, the russians killed 757 civilians in Donetsk Oblast, another 1,943 were injured. 

Kramatorsk

The enemy fired at an industrial complex in Kramatorsk. There were no casualties.

In connection with the increased danger and possible provocations from the russian federation during the celebration of the Flag Day and the Independence Day of Ukraine, the head of the Kramatorsk City Military Administration Oleksandr Goncharenko issued an order according to which on the territory of the Kramatorsk community from August 23rd to 25th:

holding any mass events and gathering of citizens is prohibited; public transport stops; the activities of institutions, organizations, enterprises of all forms of ownership and subordination, including in the sphere of trade, public catering and household services, post and bank offices and ATMs, are prohibited; the issuance of humanitarian aid by the public, volunteer and charitable organizations is suspended in order to avoid crowding; planned evacuation flights are postponed until the termination of this order. The population is recommended to stay in shelters and not leave them without urgent need until the termination of this order.

In general, the situation remains alarming.

The coordinator of the Ukrainian Innitiative "Active Community" contacted a volunteer group that is engaged in evacuating the population from hot spots in the region. An agreement on further cooperation was reached.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsky district

The last day in the Pokrovsk community was relatively calm. No facts about the victims, destruction, or collaborationism were recorded.

Yesterday, the Selydiv community of the Pokrovsky district came under fire. There are no dead or injured.

The Security Service of Ukraine exposed corrections people who collected information about the geolocation and operation of local critical infrastructure facilities. It was established that on their "tip-off" the aggressors fired at the water intake system in the city of Selidove. According to the investigation, the perpetrators were in contact with militants of terrorist organizations in the temporarily occupied territories of eastern Ukraine. They transmitted the received intelligence through one of the officials of the so-called "people's police of the DPR", providing him with a photo with objects marked on electronic maps.

Bakhmut

In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy inflicted fire damage from barrel artillery and rocket salvo fire systems in the areas of Soledar, Zaytseve and Bilogorivka settlements. Russians led an offensive in the directions of Vershyn – Kodem and Hladosove – Kodem, without success. On the directions Streapivka - Soledar, Pokrovske - Bakhmut, Travneve - Kodema, Semihirya - Zaytseve and Hladosove - Kurdyumivka, hostilities continue.

Mariupol

From six in the morning, residents of Mariupol line up in huge queues to get a ticket to the doctor. Queues for therapists for weeks ahead.

The occupiers have reduced the list of people who can receive humanitarian aid. As of today, it can be received only by people over the age of 65, disabled persons, and children under 3 years of age.

Luhansk Oblast

Over the past night, the russians launched seven missile strikes, shelled the positions of the Ukrainian military 11 times with barrel artillery and rocket salvo systems, and tried to organize tank offensives five times.

In the so-called "LNPR", the occupiers offer money to people for information about the whereabouts of the men. "Law enforcement officers" of the occupiers detain children and wait for the appearance of their parents or relatives in order to mobilize them.

The occupiers have already removed Ukrainian books from the schools and libraries of the Luhansk oblast, parents of schoolchildren are threatened with reprisals if they refuse to teach their children according to the "LPR" school curriculum.

Recently they organized a ceremony of "initiation into a young army". Dressed in military-style uniforms and red berets, the schoolchildren in chorus repeated the words of the oath to the "commander", not understanding their meaning, and looked back at their parents and relatives, to whom the organizers of the event had for some reason allocated a place behind the fence. At the same time, neither the adults nor the children showed any sense of solemnity and importance of the moment on their faces. After that, there was a concert where Soviet songs were played.

Southern regions

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the russian military led an offensive in the direction of Makarivka - Vremivka, they did not succeed and withdrew. As of August 22dn, 24,222 consumers in 75 settlements were cut off electricity due to damage to power lines, poles, and equipment in the region.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, a commandant's office was created to regulate the procedure for leaving the temporarily occupied territory. The Security Service of Ukraine exposed an agent group of the russian central intelligence agency, which adjusted missile strikes on Zaporizhzhia.

On August 21st, a two-hour silent action "Bring back our heroes alive!" took place in Zaporizhzhia in support of Ukrainian prisoners of war.

Zaporizhzhia NPP (Energodar)

Missile and artillery units of the Southern Defense Forces strengthened fire control over the road bridge over the Kakhov Dam. This was reported by the spokesman of the Operational Command "South" Vladyslav Nazarov. According to him, the situation in the southern operational zone is consistently tense. Russian troops use aviation and missile strikes for remote defeat and psychological pressure.

Skadovsk

The looting continues, the occupiers go around houses, break down doors, and look through all personal papers. A new column of occupiers arrived in Skadovsk. Launching missiles on the free territory of Ukraine.

The mayor of Skadovska continues to work remotely and published a new post on the page. He said that the education process will undergo significant changes this year. The educational process will begin only in those institutions in which managers and educators left for the controlled territory. That is, in the Skadovska community, 6 institutions will start their work remotely on September 1st. Pupils from institutions that do not open will have the opportunity to study in another institution in the Skadovsk community. Students from other communities have the same opportunity, regardless of their place of residence. To do this, they need to fill out a Google form.

The situation in the city is critically stable. People leave, stay, work, and join volunteering. The "new military government" is working, the pension fund is working, the city council is "with new people". Not a single pharmacy works, only one Russian one. ATMs and banks are not working. Medicine exchange works.

Today, the coordinator of the Ukrainian Initiative "Active Community" held a working conversation with the city's youth initiative. They exchanged information and resolved humanitarian aid issues.

Mykolayiv Oblast

Shelling of Mykolaiv and the Mykolaiv region continues.

On the night of August 22nd, approximately at 03:00 a.m., Mykolaiv came under enemy fire. As a result of which the cafe was set on fire, it is also currently known that the territory of the enterprise was hit.

Yesterday afternoon at 1:00 p.m., enemy shelling took place on the outskirts of the village of Kostyantynivka of the Pervomai community. Hits were in open areas.

Yesterday evening at 06:20 p.m. the enemy shelled the city of Bashtanka and hit the private sector. As a result, the roof of a two-story residential building and a car caught fire. After the fire, the building cannot be restored. About 10 houses were also damaged. One child was slightly injured.

Yesterday, there were shellings outside the settlements in the territory of the Shirokiv community. At approximately 09:00 a.m., 01:00 and 09:00 p.m., the russians shelled the village of Shiroke. The hits were in the already destroyed service center and residential buildings.

Also during the day, there were shellings on the outskirts of the village of Novooleksandrivka of the Ingul community.

Shelling of the territory and nearby settlements of the Berezneguvat community continues.

Odesa Oblast

In the Odessa Oblast in the morning, the enemy launched a missile attack on one of the oblast's infrastructure facilities. The Kh-59 air-launched missile was fired from a Su-35 aircraft from the Black Sea. There were no casualties. The circumstances are being clarified, reports the operational command "South".

The mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov, took part in the meeting of the Board of the All-Ukrainian Association of Local Self-Government Bodies "Association of Cities of Ukraine", which was held online. Among the urgent issues is preparation for the 2022-2023 heating season.

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

The enemy hit the Nikopol Raion with the Grad multiple launch rocket systems and tube artillery. The aggressor shelled Nikopol three times during the night, firing 42 shells and wounding 4 people. A kindergarten, a church, shops, pharmacies, markets, a court, and a bus station were damaged. 2 private houses were completely destroyed, and more than 30 were damaged. 12 five-story buildings were mutilated. Two dozen outbuildings and 2 cars were damaged and destroyed. A gas pipeline and a power line were cut off. Up to 2,000 people were left without electricity.

In the Synelnykove Raion, the enemy destroyed a school, the cultural center, and an agricultural enterprise with rockets.

The enemy fired the Uragan MLRS at the Zelenodolsk community. 8 people were wounded. A woman was killed. Residential buildings and 2 outbuildings were damaged. The sports school was badly damaged.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, musician Vladyslav from Dnipro has been taking people out of cities that are constantly under fire of the russian troops for free. First there was Kharkiv, then the Luhansk Oblast, and now Bakhmut. Vladyslav and his friends go to the Donetsk Oblast every day. They take out all those who are willing to leave in including those with pets.

The name of a five-year-old girl from Kryvyi Rih was entered into the National Register of Records for a concert staged in Lviv. Maria Makeieva is the youngest volunteer who raised more than 35 thousand hryvnias for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with her performance.

From September 1, students of communal schools in Dnipro will study remotely.

In Nikopol, despite the daily shelling, the dance school continues to operate. The trainers arranged free classes for the IDPs, and maintain online communication with those who left.

Kirovohrad Oblast

An air raid alert sounded in the community, there was a threat of a missile attack on Kropyvnytskyi. Currently, the situation in the communities is quiet and under control.

The Oleksandrivka community of the Kropyvnytskyi Raion said goodbye to the serviceman Anatoliy Don today. Residents of the village of Oleksandrivka met the defender of Ukraine lining up in a living corridor and saw him to his home. Then, at 2:00 p.m., a requiem rally took place on the square of the Ivanov Children's and Youth Sports School, where last respects were paid to the Hero.

The head of the Kirovohrad Oblast Military Administration, Andriy Raikovych, addressed the citizens and urged them to be extremely attentive in the coming days, to watch out for each other, relatives, neighbors, and their communities, because the enemy is insidious and the freedom and independence of Ukraine is stuck in his throat.

As a result of the charity fair held in Oleksandria, it became possible to raise 16 thousand 111 hryvnias. The organizers plan to transfer the funds to help the military from the Kirovohrad Oblast, who are currently defending Ukraine from the russian aggressor. Not only Oleksandria residents joined the fundraising, but also entrepreneurs and craftsmen who donated from 20 to 50% and even 100% of their earnings that day for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The coordinator of the AUI "Active Community" provided IDPs from Zaporizhzhia, the Mykolaiv and Kharkiv oblasts with advice on obtaining documents on the status of an internally displaced person, as well as information on the available resources of employers in the oblast center and surrounding communities.

Poltava Oblast

In Poltava, on August 22, they plan to defuse an anti-tank mine from the times of past wars. The ammunition was found the day before in an open-air area in Poltava.

A resident of the Poltava Oblast shouted "Glory to russia" in the center of Khorol, he was beaten, and then he recorded a video for the occupiers. He was sentenced to 5 months in prison. He served his term in custody since March. The man has now been released. He pleaded guilty, but said his appeal had been given the wrong context, and explained it by his religiosity. Like, he joined the Orthodox community of the temple "Swept through all the holy lands of Russia" in Khorol. 

The walls of the Poltava gymnasium No. 17 are painted by an artist from the Kharkiv Oblast. Andrii Yankov has almost finished painting the facade. He came from Chuhuiv and has been living in the lyceum for 5 months. The principal of the lyceum supported such art therapy. During this time, he created more than 20 drawings on the walls, and dreams of returning to street art in his native Kharkiv Oblast.

The pickup truck, for which the Poltava residents raised funds, helps the Ukraine’s defenders “at zero” to be fast and efficient. The Cossacks thank all donators for their generosity and support! It is very important for them to see and feel that they and their exploits are not forgotten.

The Poltava branch of the AUI "Active Community" joined in helping volunteers who are engaged in the purchase and delivery of medicines for soldiers on the front line and for wounded soldiers in the hospital.

Vinnytsia Oblast

Khmilnyk and Khmilnyk Raion

Throughout the day, air raid alerts sounded. The past day was relatively quiet in the Khmilnyk community.

Residents of Khmilnyk met the fallen Hero Oleksandr Ksenchenko on their knees.

For the second time this summer, a charity fair was held in Koziatyn to raise funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The event was timed to celebrate Independence Day. The visitors made patriotic decorations with their own hands and tried homemade cookies. 5300 hryvnias were raised.

The coordinator of the AUI "Active Community" of Khmilnyk and Khmilnyk Raion met with Lyudmyla Perchuk, deputy head of the Department of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Khmilnyk City Council.

Western oblasts

Lviv Oblast

There were no air raid alerts in the oblast.

Another 433 people arrived in Lviv by two evacuation trains. 701 people traveled to Przemyśl from the Lviv Oblast by four trains.

22,839 people crossed checkpoints in the Lviv Oblast for exit and for exit, and 25 thousand 107 Ukrainians crossed the oblast’s checkpoints for entry.

Volunteer Serhiy Prytula, together with representatives of the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation, met with the command and servicemen of the 103rd detached brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the meeting, the military discussed new opportunities for training drone operators and obtaining high-tech "birds" that will destroy the enemy.

The number of patients with covid is growing. Over the past week, 610 tests for the presence of coronavirus were conducted in the Lviv Oblast, of which 560 were positive. 199 patients are undergoing inpatient treatment for COVID-19.

Drohobych

On the eve of Independence Day, the Drohobych Raion Military Administration, in partnership with the "KOLO" Charitable Foundation, transferred four reliable vehicles to the front for the Armed Forces of Ukraine within the framework of the Maksym Kozytskyi #1000_avtomobiliv_svobody initiative. The vehicles will be equipped with military equipment from the Dobro.Diy partners.

Ivano-Frankivsk

The situation in the Prykarpattia area is stable and under control. As of 6 p.m., there was one air raid alert during the day.

For the third time, Forbes published the national list "30 under 30" - young Ukrainians who will rebuild the country. It is they who are the likely creators of the new Ukrainian economy, education, and architecture, they will expand the boundaries of the national cultural space, the magazine wrote. This list includes a volunteer from the Prykarpattia region, Hero of Ukraine Dmytro "Da Vinci" Kotsyubailo. Dmytro has been fighting in the russian-Ukrainian war since 2014. In early December 2021, he received the highest state award from the hands of President Volodymyr Zelensky - the title of Hero of Ukraine. The serviceman joined the forces of resistance to the russian invasion back in 2014, when he was 18 years old. Dmytro Kotsyubailo is the first volunteer to receive the title of Hero during his lifetime. He has never been in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, having gone through the hottest spots of the war against the russians as part of the Ukrainian Volunteer Corps "Right Sector".
