Kyiv

Chernihiv Oblast

The russian army once again shelled the border areas of Chernihiv Oblast. On February 8, the village of Gai, in the Novgorod-Siversk community, came under fire. The russians fired two air-to-ground missiles at the Semenivka community. According to preliminary information, one civilian was injured, and three others were buried under the rubble. Anti-aircraft missiles hit an industrial building in the Semenivka raion.


Sumy Oblast

During the past day, February 7, the russian military shelled the communities of Krasnopillia, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Seredyna-Buda, Znob-Novgorodske, Shalygyne, Glukhiv. There was mortar fire (probably 120 mm caliber) in the Krasnopillia community. 20 hits were recorded. In the Bilopillia community, there was a mortar attack on the village of Pavlivka, as a result of which a woman died. They also recorded the dropping of two munitions (of the VOG type) from the UAV on the territory of the community.

Military Dmytro Hrystoslavenko died while performing a combat mission in the Soledar raion of the Donetsk Oblast. He will be buried in Lebedyn in Sumy Oblast.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

The occupiers continued shelling the Zolochiv community. artillery shelled the village of Udy. Before the invasion, 1,217 people lived in Udy, now no one lives in the village. After lunch, the occupiers shelled the village of Snihy, the head of the Zolochiv community, Viktor Kovalenko, said. A two-story building was damaged. In Izyum, Kharkiv Oblast, 21 people were reburied, discovered in a mass improvised cemetery. Donetsk Oblast

On January 7, russian troops shelled 10 settlements in Donetsk Oblast.

Over the past day, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled the attacks of the occupiers in the areas of the settlements of Verkhnokamianske, Fedorivka, Orihovo-Vasylivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Spirne, Vyimka, Bakhmut, Krasna Gora, Paraskoviivka, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Kamianka, Vodyane, Pervomaiske, Krasnohorivka, Avdiivka, Maryinka and Bogoyavlenka of the Donetsk Oblast.

On February 7, the russians wounded 2 residents of Donetsk Oblast, both from Bakhmut.

Since the day of the russian federation's full-scale war against Ukraine, the russians have killed 1,352 civilians of Donetsk Oblast and injured another 3,002. It is still not possible to establish the number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha.


Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion

Avdiivka suffered the most from shelling. The occupiers hit the city 17 times with "Hrad" and artillery. 

A house in Tonenko of the Ocheretyne community was damaged, and Kurakhov, Kurakhivka and Hirnyk of the Kurakhiv community came under fire, without casualties.

On the Avdiivka and Novopavlivka areas, Avdiivka, Vodyane, Maryinka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, Vugledar, Zolota Niva and Neskuchne of the Donetsk Oblast came under tank, mortar and artillery shelling.

Air strikes by the occupiers were recorded near Avdiyivka, Nevelsky and Maryinka.

In the Vodyane area, russian invaders dropped non-lethal K-51 aerosol tear gas grenades from unmanned aerial vehicles on the positions of Ukrainian troops.


Bakhmut and Bakhmut raion

In the direction of Bakhmut, Spirne, Berestov, Bilogorivka, Rozdolivka, Zaliznyanske, Paraskoviivka, Krasna Gora, Bakhmut, Ivanovske, Mykolaivka, Predtechine, Klishchiivka, Kurdyumivka, New York and Vesele of the Donetsk Oblast came under fire. And in general - more than 30 settlements.

So, in the village of New York, a nine-story residential building was damaged by shelling. According to preliminary information, there are no dead or injured civilians.

Tense situation in the Soledar community: 2 houses in Vasyukivka and 4 in Rozdolivka were damaged, under constant fire from Paraskoviivka.

Siversk and the neighborhood of the community came under shelling - no one was injured.

Volnovakha and Volnovakha raion

In the Volnovaskha direction, 9 private houses were damaged under intense fire from Vugledar.


Luhansk Oblast

The minister of defense of the russian , Serhiy Shoigu, declared control over a number of settlements, among which all but one are currently under the full control of the Ukrainian military. This was reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine.

In the Kreminna direction, the positions of the Ukrainian military are subjected to the heaviest shelling. Russian troops are constantly conducting assault operations.

In the front-line villages in Luhansk Oblast, people are forced to hide in basements almost all the time due to constant shelling by the russian army. This was announced by the head of the oblast, Serhiy Gaidai. Before the war, more than 800 people lived in Makiivka, now a little more than 20. In Nevsky, there are 142 residents left out of more than 700. Artillery destroys the already devastated villages every day.


Southern Oblasts

Mykolayiv Oblast

The Ukrainian army and russian forces are likely to have deployed small groups on Kinburn Spit, which control the Dnipro Bay, as of February 2023. An assault on the right bank by the russians is unlikely. This was reported in the intelligence department of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain.

Kherson Oblast

This morning, russian troops shelled Kherson with artillery. The projectile hit the house, the husband and son received a slight contusion.

The russians also shelled a kindergarten in Kherson, all the windows were broken.

On the morning of February 8, the territory of the Kherson community came under fire from russian troops, houses were damaged. There are no casualties or injuries.

In Cairy, Kakhovka raion , the russian military is seizing civilian cars from local residents.

In the schools of the Skadovsk raion, the occupiers are creating cadet classes with enhanced military training. The russians promise "benefits" to the graduates of the classes when entering the contract military service. In particular, appointment to sergeant positions.

The defense forces destroyed seven boats of the russian army, which they were going to use to ferry sabotage groups to the right bank of the Dnieper, and damaged two "Hrad" installations in Oleshki, from which the russian army was shelling Kherson.


Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

At night, the occupiers hit the Chervonogrigorivka community, firing two dozen shells at it. As a result of the attack, 7 residential buildings, 3 outbuildings, gas pipelines and electricity networks were mutilated.

Currently, 4,045 buildings have been damaged by enemy shelling in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast since the beginning of the full-scale war. Most of them are private or apartment buildings (more than 3,800).

Serhii Bilash, a mobilized machinist from ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, died of cardiac arrest during the fighting. He is survived by a daughter. During the fighting for Donbas, a 30-year-old soldier Serhii Reutsa from Pyatikhatky was killed. Serhiy is survived by his wife, daughter, father, mother, brother and sister. 22-year-old Serhiy Ryzhkovich from the village of Zoryanye and 32-year-old Artur Abagyan from the Maryanskyi Kryvorizka district, Ruslan Oginskyi from Pidgorodnyi were killed in the fighting. In the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, the recruitment of volunteers for the "Offensive Guard" continues. "Lyut", "Rubizh", "Karadag", "Bureviy" units are being formed on the basis of the National Police, the State Border Service and the National Guard - for the future counteroffensive and the liberation of temporarily occupied territories.

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast received a new head of the Oblast Military Administration. They appointed Brigadier General Serhiy Lysak. Prior to that, he headed the regional Security Service of Ukraine department.

The Chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council Mykola Lukashuk met with the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic's support for the region was discussed. The regional authorities will formulate their proposals in the near future.


Poltava Oblast

The President's website is collecting signatures to award the title of Hero of Ukraine to the fallen soldier Vitalii Koval from Poltava oblast. The defender was killed on January 6, 2023, during an assault on positions in Bakhmut. He died of being 21 years old.

The SBU exposed five more residents of Poltava oblast who turned out to be pro-russian agitators. These are residents of Kremenchuk, Horishni Plavni, Myrhorod, and Myrhorod raion. They posted content on a social network banned in Ukraine that denied or justified russia's armed aggression. They face a sentence of restraint of liberty for up to 5 years.

Today, Poltava oblast received 45 Starlink satellite communication stations from Polish partners and the charity organization '+380'. They will be transferred to the "Points of Invincibility" to provide uninterrupted access to the Internet. So far, 403 of them have been deployed in Poltava oblast.

A park of the Soviet era is to be created in Poltava oblast. The imperial monuments may be transferred to the balance of the oblast if the city authorities do not decide on their 'fate' by February. A similar park has already been created in the neighboring Sumy oblast. And after the war is over, the Hadiach Museum of History and Local Lore plans to create an exhibition "Territory of Terror."

A modernized train will be launched in Poltava oblast, running on the Kremenchuk-Poltava-Pivdenna route. The electric train has ramps, bicycle racks, comfortable upgraded seats, and modernized lighting and warning systems. It will be launched on February 10. By the end of 2023, the railroad plans to modernize and put two more similar electric trains on the routes in Poltava oblast.

The Drevo Museum has digitized the first 100 samples of fragments of ancient embroidery, which is of historical value to our culture. Currently, the photos are being prepared for publication, where it will be possible to examine in detail the embroidery, materials, and techniques used by our ancestors to create and decorate clothes.


Kirovohrad Oblast

The Trypillian Sich Charitable Foundation has purchased five vehicles for the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the past week and a half. The vehicles were purchased at the expense of benefactors. 3 vehicles will be sent to the front in the near future, 2 - after the completion of the equipment. Over the 9 months of its existence, Trypillian Sich members have helped Ukrainian defenders with food, generators, charging stations, clothing, and other essentials.

Residents of the Novoukrainka raion of Kirovograd oblast feed the military for free at a roadside cafe. They stop the soldiers to feed them and thank them. They started helping from the second day of the full-scale russian invasion.  

In the village of Dobrovelychkivka of Kirovograd oblast, an eight-apartment building for IDP doctors and military personnel will be renovated. Western Oblasts

Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast

The Carpathian oblast said goodbye to its Heroes. A 25-year-old lieutenant, mortar platoon commander Vasyl Stefanyshyn was killed on February 3 near the village of Zelenyi Hai of Polohiv raion in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

On February 5, a senior soldier from Ivano-Frankivsk oblast, 29-year-old Volodymyr Droniuk, was killed in Donetsk oblast. Also recently, it became known about the death of a 33-year-old soldier from the village of Potik, of the Rohatyn community, Bohdan Romanchuk, whose contact was lost on December 7.


Rivne Oblast

The Krupets community said goodbye to the Hero. On February 4, Vasyl Havryliuk died defending our country from russian invaders. The last battle of the soldier took place near the village of Chasiv Yar of Bakhmut district in Donetsk oblast.

In Rivne, a collaborator who supports the armed aggression of the russian federation and the annexation of Crimea will be tried. The 67-year-old man is a native of russia, but has been living in Rivne with his family for many years. Prosecutors sent the indictment to court.

Residents of the Korets community sent an aid vehicle to the front line. It is intended for residents of Lyman, fellow soldiers, and defenders who are in the hospital. Thus, food, gas equipment, medical supplies, trench candles, children's toys, warm clothes, hygiene products, camouflage nets, and patriotic amulets for children were delivered to the de-occupied territory.


Chernivtsi Oblast

Senior Sergeant Mykhailo Osipov was buried in the town of Khotyn, and senior soldier Ivan Matviyevych was buried in the village of Oleksiyivka. Eternal memory and glory to the Heroes.

Recruitment to the assault brigade of the National Police of Ukraine called "Rage" has begun: 100 people in Bukovyna have already submitted their applications to join this unit.

In Khotyn, a father set up a computer classroom in memory of his son, a hero who died fighting for Ukraine. A local philanthropist made a gift to school No. 1, where Vasyl Moroz studied. He financed the renovation of the classroom and the purchase of ten new computers and a multimedia interactive whiteboard for the students.

The communities of Bukovyna have 775 generators to ensure an uninterrupted power supply. 432 of them were provided by international partners, local volunteers, ministries, etc. The purchase of another 344 generators was financed from local budgets. In addition, there are 233 responsible business facilities in the region that are equipped with backup power sources, including shops, pharmacies, gas stations, post offices, and banks.


Zakarpattia

In Chop, Zakarpattia, old buildings are being restored for temporary accommodation of internally displaced persons. Currently, 2133 IDPs live in the city. Some of them have already settled in two reconstructed buildings that belonged to a hospital. A third building is currently being prepared for IDPs.
