About us: The “Active Community” initiative was launched by activists of the “Republika” Institute after the Euromaidan (2014), which focused on the activation and involvement of Ukrainians in the decision-making process. The goal for 2025: to activate and involve at least 1% of citizens in making decisions and promoting reforms in Ukraine on a systematic basis for the well-being of Ukrainian communities. Today we work in 30 communities in Ukraine.

Ukraine in brief:

During the current day, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled the attacks of the occupiers in the areas of the settlements of Bilogorivka in the Luhansk Oblast and Spirne, Yakovlivka, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Opytne and Klishchiivka in the Donetsk Oblast.

During the current day, the enemy launched 2 rocket attacks on the civilian infrastructure of the city of Kupyansk and carried out about 10 attacks from rocket salvo systems on the positions of our troops along the contact line.

In the Volyn, Polissya and Sivershchyna directions, the situation remains without significant changes, no signs of the formation of offensive groups have been detected.

The republic of belarus continues to support the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine, providing it with infrastructure, territory and airspace. Airplanes of the air and space forces of the armed forces of the russian federation fly almost daily in the airspace of the republic of belarus. The MiG-31K aircraft, which takes off from the Machulyshchi airfield, is the carrier of hypersonic missiles “Kynzhal”, capable of hitting objects throughout the territory of Ukraine. It is because of this that we are forced to announce an air raid alert so often in all Oblasts of our state.

In the border areas of Bryansk and Kursk Oblasts, the occupiers continue to maintain separate units of their troops.

In the direction of Slobozhansk, the enemy shelled the areas of Dvorichna, Ohirtseve, Strelecha, Staritsa and Chaykivka settlements of the Kharkiv Oblast.

In the Kupyansk and Lyman directions, the enemy is conducting defense on the captured lines, firing mortars, tube and rocket artillery, in particular in the areas of Krokhmalne and Tabaivka settlements of the Kharkiv Oblast; Novoselivske, Makiivka, Ploshanka and Nevske in the Luhansk Oblast and Berestove in the Donetsk Oblast.

In the Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Novopavlivka areas, the enemy is concentrating its main efforts on conducting offensive operations. Conducts shelling from tanks and the entire range of artillery in the areas of Andriivka, Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Bilogorivka, Verkhnokamianske, Vesele, Vremivka, Vugledar, Klishchiivka, Mayorsk, Opytne, Rozdolivka, Paraskoviivka, Soledar, Spirne and Yakovlivka settlements of the Donetsk Oblast.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the occupiers are defending themselves. The areas of Vyshchetarasivka, Gulyaipole, Dorozhnyanka, Zaliznychne, Novopil, Orihiv and Chervone settlements of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast were affected by the enemy's artillery fire.

In the Kryvyi Rih and Kherson directions, the enemy is conducting positional defense and improving fortification equipment. Directed fire from tanks, tube and jet artillery in the areas of the settlements of Antonivka, Veletenske, Novokairy, Novotyaginka, Ponyativka, Tokarivka and the city of Kherson.

In the Kakhovka raion, the russian occupiers continue to engage in looting and robberies. Local residents are deprived of personal cars, motorcycles and even bicycles.

The enemy continues to suffer losses. So, about 100 wounded servicemen of the russian occupation forces were brought to the city hospital of Skadovsk, in the Kherson Oblast.

According to the updated information, fire damage was confirmed at the places of concentration of the enemy's manpower on November 19. The invaders lost more than 100 people wounded in the settlements of Pology, Kam'yanka, Mykhailivka (Vasylivka raion) and Energodar of Zaporizhzhia Oblast. About 20 units of military equipment of various types and 2 ammunition depots were also liquidated. In addition, a column of enemy equipment was destroyed near the village of Syrotyne, Luhansk Oblast.

During the current 24 hours, Ukrainian aviation made 6 strikes on the enemy: 3 on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, and 3 on the positions of anti-aircraft missile systems.

At the same time, units of missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces hit 2 control points, an ammunition warehouse, an area for the concentration of personnel and anti-aircraft weapons, and 2 other important objects of the occupiers.

Northern Oblasts

Kyiv

Volodymyr Zelenskyi together with the Prime Minister of Great Britain Rishi Sunak visited the exhibition of the destroyed military equipment of the russian occupiers on Mikhailivska Square. Rishi Sunak announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine worth £50 million.

The 101 Tower business center in the very center of Kyiv was damaged by russian attacks on October 10. The owners of the business center cannot accurately estimate the amount of damage. But they say it could cost $10 million. Currently, it is difficult to make an accurate assessment due to the dilapidated condition of the building and limited access to it.

A peaceful action “Piv roku polonu, piv roku nevidomosti [Half a year of captivity, half a year of obscurity]” was held in Kyiv to mark the half-year anniversary of the withdrawal of the Ukrainian military from Azovstal. The participants of the action wanted to draw the attention of society and the world community to the catastrophic situation of Ukrainian prisoners of war held by russia, which disregards the norms of the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

 

Kyiv Oblast

Minister of Defense of New Zealand Pini Henare arrived in Irpin. He also held a meeting with Oleksiy Reznikov. They discussed joint projects, ways to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities, and coordinated efforts to rebuild Ukraine after the war.

In Gostomel, on Sviato-Pokrovska Street, a house destroyed by the russians is being restored. On one of the high-rise buildings, workers are repairing the roof. Funds for reconstruction were allocated from the reserve fund of the state budget. 

Sumy Oblast

The night from the 19th to 20 of November in Sumy Oblast passed without russian shelling.

Over the past 24 hours, 7 explosive devices were discovered in the Okhtyrka, Konotop and Shostka raions in Sumy Oblast.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Throughout the Oblast, the Kupyansk, Chuguyiv, and Izyum raions came under russian artillery fire during the day.

A fire broke out in Kupyansk as a result of shelling of an elevator. There are no casualties. In addition, private homes and commercial buildings were damaged.

During the day, 2 people were hospitalized as a result of shelling in the Kupyansk raion: a 54-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man. Both received blast injuries and shrapnel wounds, the patients are in serious condition.

Yesterday, for the first time in many months, the light was restored in the village of Kupyansk-Vuzlovy. Some consumers in this settlement already have electricity in their homes. Currently, specialists continue to work on connecting the remaining residential buildings to the power supply. In addition, electricity supply was restored yesterday to some subscribers of Izyum, as well as villages of Izyum raion.

Work on the restoration of gas and heat supply does not stop. Gas supply to the boiler houses of Borova village of Izyum raion was restored today. In total, during the day, gas supply was restored to 594 families in the Kharkiv and Izyum raions.

Pyrotechnic groups continue to work with demining in the Kharkiv Oblast. During the day, 269 explosive objects were neutralized.

Donetsk Oblast

On the 19th November, the russians wounded 2 civilians in Donetsk Oblast: Bakhmut and Vugledar.

Since the 24th of February, the russians have killed 1,216 civilians of Donetsk Oblast, wounded another 2,613. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha remains unknown.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion

In the east of the Pokrovsk raion, the russians once again shelled Avdiivka from the “Hrad”. Aimed at the central part of the city. Fortunately, there were no civilian casualties.

With the participation of the head of the Pokrovsk City Military Administration, a meeting was held with the coordinator of the Wash Cluster for 7 Oblasts of Ukraine, during which the issues of joint implementation of the project to provide residents of the Pokrovsk community with water were discussed. Within its framework, about 2,000 meters of pipeline have already been laid. It will deliver only technical water according to the 3/3 schedule. The installation of the tank will make it possible to supply water around the clock.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion

Mass shelling of the Toretsk and Zarychne Lyman communities does not stop in the Lysychansk direction. At night, the enemy shelled Sviatohirsk. The consequences are being clarified.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut raion

In the Horlivka direction, isolated communities near Minkivka, Rozdolivka, Yakovlivka and Bakhmut Soledar communities and on the outskirts of the Toretsk community were shelled. Also, in the Chasiv Yar community, the russians took aim at an infrastructural object - no casualties, the object continues to work.

 

Mariupol

In the least affected schools and kindergartens, education continues, but there is no heating. Even the promised windows were not installed before the onset of cold weather. Children are freezing.

Southern Oblasts

Zaporizhzhia Oblast 

Over the past 24 hours, the russian military has shelled civilian infrastructure in the area of ​​12 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. 30 reports were received about the destruction of houses and apartments of citizens and infrastructure facilities.

Last night and this morning, the russian military fired on the territory of the Zaporizhzhya NPP. According to "Energoatom", at least 12 hits to the infrastructure of the nuclear plant were recorded.

As a result of the explosions, overpasses of communication with special corps, storage tanks of chemically desalinated water, steam generator purge system, auxiliary systems of one of the two general station diesel engines and other infrastructure equipment of the station were damaged. Three hits were also recorded in the area of ​​the Rainbow substation. Information about damage and destruction there is still being ascertained.

The fact of more than ten explosions was also confirmed by the Director General of the IAEA. The agency's team reported damage to some buildings and systems at the ZNPP site, but so far "none of them are critical for nuclear safety." Fortunately, there were no casualties.

Kherson Oblast

In the Kherson direction, the russian military is conducting positional defense and improving fortification equipment. The russians shelled the areas of the settlements of Antonivka, Veletenskyi, Novokair, Novotyaginka, Ponyativka, Tokarivka, and Kherson with tanks, barrel and rocket artillery.

Residents of the Kherson Oblast will receive a one-time payment of 1,200 hryvnias from the Red Cross Committee in Ukraine. You can get them through a bank or Ukrposhta. Before that, the person will receive an SMS message on the phone, which will indicate the algorithm for receiving money.

13 ambulance teams started working in Kherson.

On the 20th of November, a performance by the orchestra of the Naval Forces of Ukraine took place on Freedom Square in Kherson. The orchestra performed the national anthem of Ukraine, "Chervona Kalina" and the song of this year's Eurovision winner Kalush "Stefaniya". 

Mykolayiv Oblast

At night, from 04:16, the enemy attacked the water area and the settlement of the Ochakiv community with anti-aircraft guns. As a result of the shelling, a fire broke out in the commercial building.

In Mykolaiv, Pervomaisk, Voznesensk and Bashtanka raions, the day and night passed relatively calmly.

Central Oblasts 

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

On the night of 20 November the russian troops shelled 4 communities of Nikopol raion. Kirovohrad Oblast 

A boiler house on alternative fuels was built in the Novomyrhorod community of the Kirovohrad oblast. This made it possible to refuseon 95 percent the use of natural gas for heating the buildings that are on the balance of the community.

Poltava Oblast 

Poltava says goodbye to Artem Medvedeyev "Hess" - a fallen defender of Ukraine and a representative of the Vorskla football club fans' movement. With the beginning of the full-scale war, he became a grenade launcher of the military unit A1619. He served in the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Yakov Handziuk.

An electrician driver from Poltava oblast Andrii Kalinichenko was killed in the war. The warrior defended Ukraine from the first days of the full-scale war. His mother, brothers-in-arms and community will accompany him on his last journey.

Ruslan Moroz, head of the logistics platoon of the A4020 military unit, was killed in action. The 40-year-old senior sergeant fell on June 17 as a result of artillery shelling by the russian army near the village of Tsapivka in Kharkiv oblast.

36-year-old Kostyantyn Vasylchenko was from Hadiach. He died in June from wounds received as a result of artillery shelling. Then the russian army shelled the village of Tsapivka in Kharkiv oblast.

The searches are conducted at the factories of the oligarch from Poltava oblast. The Bureau of Economic Security suspects tax evasion of UAH 10 billion. Kremenchuk authorities supported the demolition of the Pushkin monument. At the session of the city council, the deputies voted to dismantle the monument and free the public space of the city from the russian imperial marker.

Neskorenykh Street and Ukrainian Renaissance Boulevard are the new names that will appear on the map of Kremenchuk. The fourth stage of street renaming, which lasted from 20 October to 9 November was completed in the community. Members of the council approved new names for 31 toponyms  

The Poltava author of the stamp with the Crimean bridge created illustrations for the book of poems by Pavlo Vyshebaba - poet, commander of the 68th separate hunting brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush. A photo exhibition of Kharkiv destruction will be opened in Poltava. It will feature photos of the destroyed streets of the city, which were taken in the period from March 10 to August 19. The exhibition will be open from November 21 to 27.

Vinnytsia Oblast

The hlukhovetska community of Khmilnyk raion is in mourning. On November 18, a citizen, who defended our country from the enemy, died. Serhiy Chesnyuk recently turned 56 years old. The soldier is survived by his elderly mother, wife, children and grandson. Eternal glory to the Hero.

More than one hundred liters of "Bandera" smoothie and 360 half-liter jars of ground viburnum with sugar for the defenders were made and delivered by volunteers from Khmilnyk of Vinnytsia oblast.

Western Oblasts

Rivne Oblast

"Warm support for the Armed Forces''. In Smyga, grandmothers united to help with their work the Defenders of Ukraine. For several months now, residents of one of the streets have been gathering together and disassembling knitted items to make socks. This idea appeared in autumn to help women in a neighboring village who knit socks for the military. They are already receiving ready-made balls of thread.  

A fragment of the centenary monument to Sich Riflemen was dug up in Rivne oblast. A citizen Mykhailo Stepchuk found out that the basalt block lies on the territory of the former NKVD department in Kostopil in the late 90s of the twentieth century. Then they found part of the monument and returned it to the place, to the grave of the UPR soldiers. Another element was taken out of the ground only in 2022. 

Chernivtsi Oblast

A new trolleybus was bought in Chernivtsi, four more are to be delivered by the end of the year. This is a Ukrainian-made transport. There are validators, air conditioners and Wi-Fi in the cabin.

Lviv specialists are scanning the former residence of metropolitans in Chernivtsi. Then they will make an accurate 3D model of the facades, rooms and territory. This is being done as part of an international project to preserve cultural heritage. The creation of the model will allow for scientific research, drawings and calculations, as well as planning restoration work. 

Zakarpattia Oblast

Today, more than half of more than 700 educational institutions in Zakarpattia have been connected to the Internet and provided with uninterrupted access to the World Wide Web. Most of the costs were covered by local providers.
