Northern Oblasts

Kyiv

Rescuers continue to sort through the rubble of a high-rise building in the center of Kyiv, which was damaged by the fall of a russian kamikaze drone in the morning of October 17.

In Kyiv, electricity supply was restored to 83,000 families who were left without electricity after yesterday's shelling of a critical infrastructure facility. A member of the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament of Belgium, George Delleman, promised to lobby the head of government of his country to provide aid to Irpin. The mayor of the city, Oleksandr Markushyn, announced this on his Facebook page after a meeting with a foreign guest in the Irpin city council.

In the Kyiv Oblast, with the assistance of the charitable organization Caritas-Kyiv, current repairs will be carried out for 3,000 homes affected by russian aggression. As for today, work has already been completed in about 200 residential buildings, and another 260 are under construction. In particular, works are being carried out in Irpin, Gostomel, Kalynivka, Nove Zalissia, Peremoha, Nemishaeve, Gorenka, Velyka Dymerka and other settlements.

Today, Bohuslav raion met a countryman, soldier Anatoliy Yakobchuk, who died at the front. It is known that a 50-year-old fighter died defending Ukrainian land from russian invaders in Donetsk Oblast.

The regional championship among young men in boxing took place the day before in Kyiv Oblast. This is reported by the Boxing Section of the Bohuslav community. It is noted that more than 160 of the strongest young athletes gathered at the event. Boguslav raion was represented by two pupils of the local boxing school, Yatsenko Nazar (Lyceum No. 1) and Babenko Maksym (Lyceum No. 3). The boys reached the final with honor and took gold and silver. In turn, Nazar, together with the gold medal, won a ticket to the Championship of Ukraine.

 

Zhytomyr 

Zhytomyr said goodbye to Hero Antonevskyi Anatolyi. After his military service, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces. Participant in peacekeeping operations. With the beginning of the full-scale aggression of russia in Ukraine, he joined the work of the volunteer headquarters in Zhytomyr, organized by the Plastuns. And later he was mobilized to one of the mechanized brigades. Died while performing a combat mission on the eastern borders of Ukraine.

In Zhytomyr Oblast, the Security Service of Ukraine continues to systematically identify and block enemy propagandists who justify russian aggression, distribute materials calling for aggressive war and genocide of Ukrainians, and discredit our defenders. This time, residents of Zhytomyr, Novohrad-Volynskyi, Zhytomyr and Berdychiv raions turned out to be lobbyists of the "russian world" in social networks. Two of them are citizens of the russian federation, who have been living in our Oblast for the past decades.

Ukrainian rock musician Oleg Skrypka visited Zhytomyr with a concert in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The performance was organized in a safe place - in the Shultz brewery bomb shelter, so the townspeople could listen to patriotic songs and help our defenders.

 

Chernihiv Oblast 

During October 18, russian troops continued to attack the border areas of Chernihiv Oblast. This time, the Novgorod-Siversk, Semenivka and Snovsk communities came under fire. The russians shelled the territory of Novgorod-Siversk with mortars. Border guards recorded 10 explosions. Enemy drones dropped three explosive devices on the territory of the Semenivka community. The russians shelled the Snovsk community with mortars. Border guards counted 8 hits.

Today, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down two missiles in the sky over Chernihiv Oblast, near Kypti. 

It is also known about the downed russian drone. The military took him away from residential buildings and shot him down over a non-residential building on the territory of one of the city's enterprises in order to avoid a large number of victims. There are three injured men, all with head injuries. Currently, all specialized services are working at the scene. Explosives experts of the regional police remove the wreckage of the aircraft. A mobile forensic laboratory is in operation.

Today, explosive devices were detonated near the village of Shestovytsia.

Yesterday in Chernihiv Oblast they said goodbye to two soldiers - junior sergeants Viktor Prosyanik and Vasyl Varukha.

The Security Service of Ukraine detained a russian agent in Chernihiv Oblast who was collecting the coordinates of Ukrainian “decision-making centers” near the northern border. In addition, the henchman of the aggressor monitored the movement routes of Ukrainian troops in the Oblast. During the searches, the law enforcement officers found a mobile phone with evidence of correspondence with the russian "curator".

 

Sumy Oblast 

Yesterday, the russian military shelled populated areas of the Oblast four times. They hit civilians and civilian objects with mortars and artillery. The russian army shelled Yunakivka, Khotyn and Nova Sloboda communities. A total of 64 hits were recorded.

Yesterday, the russians conducted artillery fire on the Khotyn community of the Sumy raion. Objects of civilian infrastructure were damaged and civilian cars were damaged. A rescue building, a children's gym, a car and at least 5 houses were damaged in the community.

Eastern Oblasts 

Kharkiv Oblast 

Yesterday, the enemy launched missile strikes on Kharkiv and continued to terrorize the civilian population of Chuguyiv, Kharkiv and Kupyansk raions adjacent to the contact line and the border with the russian federation. With mortars, tube and rocket artillery, the russians shelled the populated areas: Vovchanski Khutory, Volohivka, Gatishche, Krasne, Ohirtseve, Staritsa, Strelecha and Khatne.

On October 19, as a result of shelling in the Kupyansk raion of the Kharkiv Oblast, two employees of the State Emergency Service were injured when they were returning from a call. Three specialized ambulances were also damaged.

Yesterday, the russian military shelled the city of Vovchansk. Four residential buildings were damaged as a result of the shelling, the police reported.

During the day, 2 people were hospitalized with injuries: a 28-year-old woman in Chuguyiv raion and a 57-year-old man in Kupyansk raion.

The police showed a place beyond Lyptsi near the dam of the Travyanskyi reservoir, from where the russian occupiers shelled Kharkiv. On the territory of the former recreation center and in the basements was the headquarters of the occupiers. Investigators found more than 400 122 mm shell casings on the spot, seized fingerprints, DNA samples and belongings of the occupiers.

A train arrived for the first time in the village of Slatine, liberated from the occupiers. Six passengers have already left from there to Kharkiv.

Demining continues in the liberated territory of the Oblast. During the day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service defused 709 explosive objects.

 

Donetsk Oblast 

The enemy carried out shelling in the Lyman direction - from artillery of various types, in the areas of the settlements of Grekivka, Zarichne, Novoehorivka, Serebryanka, Terny, Torske, and Yampolivka, and in the Avdiivka direction - from tanks and artillery of various calibers, in the areas of the settlements of Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Karlivka, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka and Novomykhailivka.

On October 18, the russians killed 4 civilians of Donetsk Oblast: in Kurakhovo, Bakhmut, Kurdyumivka, and Siversk. In addition, 8 more civilians killed by the russians during the occupation were found in Lyman. Another 12 people were injured yesterday.

Currently, it is impossible to establish the exact number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovaha.

Since February 24, the russians have killed 1,046 civilians of Donetsk Oblast, wounded another 2,435. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovaha is currently unknown.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion

The enemy is trying to hold the temporarily occupied territories and does not abandon attempts to conduct offensive actions in the Avdiivka direction, russian troops continued to shell the localities of Avdiivka, Pervomayske, Karlivka, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka and Novomykhailivka with tanks and various caliber artillery.

The enemy shelled the towns of Kurakhove, Avdiivka, the villages of Novoukrainka, Karlivka

Marinka community and Avdiivka came under fire. In the Marinka community there were periodic air raids on Marinka and Katerynivka, in Avdiivka - artillery and Grad shelling of the city center.

Russians shelled twice the town of Kurakhove of Pokrovsk district, as well as the village of Sontsivka and Kurakhivska thermal power plant of Kurakhivska community, there are wounded and damaged.

Bakhmut

The enemy fired from tanks, mortars, cannons and rocket artillery in the Bakhmut direction, near the inhabited localities of Andriivka, Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Bilohorivka, Zvanivka, Kurdyumivka, Mayorsk, Opytne, Rozdolivka, Soledar, Spirne, and Yakovlivka;

As a result of the night shelling of Bakhmut, a private residential building in the area of 100 square meters caught fire. Rescuers of the 8th State Fire and Rescue Unit arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire. According to the information, nobody was killed or injured. The fire was eliminated at 03:22. 9 personnel members and 1 vehicle were engaged from the Main Office. Also, a tanker of the municipal service was additionally engaged.

Mariupol 

Today the occupants dismantled the memorial to the Holodomor victims, erected in 2004 near the Drama Theater. Collaboration authorities stated that the granite will be processed into building materials. They called it a symbol of "disinformation at the state level".

Residents of the city who live in the private sector complain that the occupation authorities do not repair their houses. Mariupol residents fear that they will be left with broken windows and damaged roofs in winter. Russian authorities concentrated their attention on certain neighborhoods for the sake of demonstration, while they are not interested in the rest of Mariupol residents. 

Mariupol residents are intimidated by the occupiers that they will be accepted as collaborators in the free territories of Ukraine. They scare them with criminal liability for receiving "humanitarian aid". This is another fake from the occupiers.

Luhansk Oblast

Ukrainian Armed Forces have taken partial control of the Troitske-Svatove trace in Luhansk oblast, while the russians are bringing mobilized troops and a lot of military materiel to Luhansk oblast, they have already blown up several bridges. 

Residents of the occupied Luhansk oblast are freezing in their homes, which were left without windows and roofs after enemy shelling. Meanwhile, the occupants boast of almost one hundred percent readiness for winter.

Southern Oblasts

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

Russians shelled Orikhiv for 7 hours at night. 8 civilians were injured. They received injuries of varying severity, all were hospitalized.

According to Oleksandr Starukh, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, the russian military used multiple rocket launchers. The detached houses, the building of the city council, and an educational institution were destroyed. Currently, there is no electricity, and water supply in Orikhiv. Specialized services are working to restore the networks.

The occupation authorities of the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhya oblast organized the so-called inventory of housing stock and "census" of the population. These measures are aimed at finding and alienating the housing of local residents who left the occupied territories.

Kherson Oblast

On October 18, around 09:00, a unit of the Kherson anti-aircraft missile brigade of the "South" Air Command shot down a russian Su-25 attack aircraft in Beryslav raion of Kherson oblast. This was reported by the Public Relations Service of the "South" Air Command. 

Mykolaiv Oblast

On the night of October 18-19, the enemy attacked Mykolaiv oblast with kamikaze drones of "Shahed-136" type twice. 13 of them were shot down on the territory of Mykolaiv oblast. Thus, 11 drones were shot down by the forces and means of air defense of the "South" Air Command and two more - by the servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

The Berezneguvata community remains under constant enemy fire. At night, russians shelled the outskirts of three inhabited localities.

Odesa Oblast

The situation remains tense due to the threat of rocket attacks.

The preparations are continued for the heating season in Odesa. The heating network along Oleksandrivskyi Avenue, which was put into operation in 1973, is currently being repaired. The first stage of reconstruction was carried out in 2021. The second stage was planned to begin after the end of the heating season - in the spring. However, the full-scale invasion of russia into Ukraine has pushed back the work schedule. 

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

42-year-old Yurii Beihul from Kamianske, 28-year-old policeman Valerii Didyk, 24-year-old Ruslan Zelenyi, and 30-year-old Mark Kukhanovskyi from Kamianske raion, 39-year-old Volodymyr Shapoval from Sofiyivska hromada were killed at the front, defending Ukraine. 

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to Yevhen Kurash, brigade colonel from Dnipropetrovsk oblast, who led the soldiers during the liberation of the city of Izyum and other inhabited localities in Kharkiv oblast. 

Dnipro City Hall has decided to pay up to UAH 500 thousand in compensation for the damage caused to Dnipro residents by russian shelling.

As a result of yesterday's russian attack on the Prydniprovska Heat and Power Plant in Dnipro, more than three dozen residential buildings were damaged, and schools and kindergartens were affected. Four power engineers and a resident of the city got shrapnel wounds.

On the night of October 19, russian troops hit the energy infrastructure with missiles in Kryvyi Rih raion. Towns and villages in four communities and Ingulets district in Kryvyi Rih were left without electricity. There are also disruptions in the water supply. As a result of the attack, a two-story building in Kryvyi Rih was damaged.

Russian troops shelled Nikopol raion with Grad MLRS, Uragan MLRS, and major caliber. 

Anatoliy Alekseev, an entrepreneur from Dnipro, takes children to his country house near Dnipro for free and takes them to his ranch in the Carpathians. Children of the military, children from destroyed cities and villages, and children who lost their parents can get vouchers. In the summer, about 200 children from Irpin and children of servicemen were received free of charge. The entrepreneur employs 9 internally displaced people.

In Dnipro, children together with teachers paint the walls of temporary shelters in five out-of-school educational institutions. Children wanted to decorate the shelters themselves.

Kirovohrad Oblast

There was a threat of a missile attack on the inhabited localities of Kirovohrad oblast.   

The Volunteer Center started distributing hygiene kits for the needs of internally displaced people in the city of Oleksandria. IDPs from Oleksandriyske (the village of Oleksandriyske), Holovkivka (the villages of Holovkivka and Ivanivka), Izmail, and Zvenyhorod of starosta districts received assistance.

Anatoliy Stoyan, the regional coordinator of the Active Community, provided IDPs from Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv oblasts with consultations on obtaining documents on IDP status, as well as information on available resources of employers in the regional center and surrounding communities. 

Poltava Oblast

A tragic day in Poltava. Brothers and relatives of Yevgeny Brakh, Serhiy Byba, Oleksandr Belozerov and Yaroslav Kapka said goodbye to the fallen soldiers.Concerned Poltava residents paid tribute to the feats of four Ukrainian soldiers.

The head of the Poltava Oblast Military Administration, Dmytro Lunin, responded to the businessmen's proposal to simplify restrictions on the sale of alcohol. Lunin promised that the Oblast Defense Council would consider this issue, but then made it clear that the conclusion would be negative. He motivated his disagreement with the businessmen's proposal by the fact that many law enforcement officers are currently serving in the Kharkiv Oblast and therefore there is no need to undermine peace in the Oblast.

Plans to build housing for displaced persons in Poltava for 2 billion hryvnias have been postponed until spring. The authorities offer an alternative - a modular town in Poltava. An appeal was sent to the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine for his appearance. Almost a thousand people will be able to settle in the town. This accommodation is planned as temporary until people can return to their homes. In a modular town, they will be able to arrange their life until the end of the war. It seems that it will soon appear in the Bila community.

Lviv Oblast

There was one air alert. There was a threat of a missile strike by planes from the east.

Another 124 people arrived in Lviv from the epicenters of hostilities on two evacuation trains.

In the Lviv Oblast, the "Tachka na Prokachka" project continues, the purpose of which is to repair 4,000 military trucks for the local Territorial Defense units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Now these machines are in the storage bases of the Armed Forces, but they are not in the best condition. In order for our defenders to be able to use these cars in positions, the cars need a "PROKACHKA" - i.e. repair. Thanks to patrons, 17 cars have already been repaired and sent to the defenders at the front. 5 of these vehicles went to the 103rd separate brigade of the local Territorial Defense units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine!

Now the emergency workers of the Lviv Oblast will have two more fire trucks with towers, which will be used to rescue people from the height of the ninth floor and below. Drager respiratory equipment was also handed over to the employees of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Lviv Oblast, with which the rescuer can protect the respiratory tract of the person he is removing from the smoky room, as well as his own. This is extremely necessary equipment, because firefighters of Lviv Oblast use it every day, so it wears out quickly.

German charitable organization Freunde helfen Konvoi handed over fire trucks and respiratory equipment with a total value of 5 million hryvnias to the employees of the State Emergency Service Department of Lviv Oblast with the assistance of the Department of International Technical Assistance and International Cooperation of the Lviv Oblast’s State Administration. Since the start of the full-scale war alone, this organization has sent more than 140 trucks of food, medical equipment and fire trucks worth almost 2 million euros to Ukraine. In general, German benefactors have been supporting our country for four years.

Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast

Today, October 19, the russians again struck the Burshtyn territorial community (Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast). This was officially announced by the head of Oblast Military Administration Svitlana Onyshchuk in a video message. "Our Oblast has been hit by the enemy again - we have hit the Burshtyn community. As a result of which there was a fire. All services work on site. There are no victims," ​​she said. In addition, she reminded that the road around the station is closed, a detour through the villages is organized. As of now, this is all information about the state of the Burshtyn community.

Rivne Oblast

Today in Rivne they said goodbye to the fallen Hero - Major Vitaly Magel. The defender died during the hostilities between the villages of Ambarne and Milove in the Kharkiv Oblast. 

There is now mural in Rivne commemorating two Azov citizens who died defending Mariupol - Kostyantyn Druz and Vitaly Semchuk, who gave their lives in Azovstal. A mural with their portraits will now adorn a wall near Theater Square. 

In the Rivne Oblast, Security Service of Ukraine employees of the Oblast continue to expose persons involved in the dissemination of anti-Ukrainian narratives with calls to return to the communist regime on banned social networks.Thus, in the course of a special operation, a resident of the city of Zdolbuniv was exposed, who popularized the communist totalitarian regime among his acquaintances and distributed Soviet symbols banned in Ukraine on the Internet. The perpetrator was informed of the suspicion of committing a crime, provided for in Part 1 of Art. 436-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (production, distribution of communist and Nazi symbols and propaganda of communist and national socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes). 

In the Dubne Raion, settlers made charms. In Myrohosh, in the Dubne Raion, the campaign "With faith in victory" was held, where displaced people made talismans and wove blue and yellow bracelets for defenders. The ready-made souvenirs were handed over to the commanders of the military units of the Dubne Raion. In Zarichne, the students sold goodies, and all the funds collected, which amounted to almost 29,000 hryvnias, were handed over to the military. 

Khmelnytsk Oblast

City Mayor Mykhailo Positko assembled the City Civil Defense Headquarters. The main issue is the readiness of all units and enterprises for possible emergency situations in connection with massive enemy shelling of critical infrastructure facilities of Ukraine.

Thanks to the funds collected by the representatives of the structural subdivisions of the city council, a laptop, printer and binoculars were purchased and given to our military.

Assistance is regularly provided to needy categories of citizens. More than 800 IDP families received food assistance. And the other day - low-income families who are registered with the department of social protection of the population.

Chernivtsi Oblast

During the day, an air alert signal sounded in the Chernivtsi Oblast, currently the situation is calm and under control.

In the oblast, they said goodbye to the Hero who defended his native land from the russian invaders: junior sergeant Stepan Mudrei was taken to the village of Repuzhyntsi on his last journey.

Vasyl Moroz from Bukovyna was posthumously awarded the Order "For Courage" III degree. This is stated in the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 359/2022.

Ivan Semenovych Svynoboy, a resident of the village of Lomachintsi, was awarded for his patriotism during the russian armed aggression against Ukraine and exemplary performance of official duties in the implementation of measures to ensure national security and defense, deterring the enemy in the territory of Donetsk Oblast. The man defended the Motherland from the first days of the war.

Servicemen of the 107th separate brigade of the local Territorial Defense units of Bukovyna after the russian terror are returning joy and life to the de-occupied territories of Kharkiv Oblast. Toys and sweets were distributed to children, humanitarian aid and foodstuffs were handed over to the civilian population by the military. The situation in this direction is quite difficult, because the settlements suffer from numerous shelling every day. Therefore, local assistance is extremely important and necessary. 

"Yamariupol". This is the name of the center for comprehensive assistance to displaced persons, which started work in Chernivtsi today. Here, residents of Mariupol will be provided with all necessary assistance: medical, legal, psychological, etc. This is the 14th such center in Ukraine. Its goal is to support the people of Mariupol. In the future, they plan to monitor the needs of the displaced people in order to provide them with everything they need: from food to hygiene products and stationery. 

To support our defenders, students and teachers of the Chernivtsi National University named after Yuriy Fedkovych organized a charity fair. The event was held at the faculty of pedagogy, psychology and social work. Here you could buy exquisite products of folk craftsmen and taste home-made delicacies. A total of 38,388 UAH was collected. Proceeds will go to support the Armed Forces. 

Zakarpattia Oblast

Zakarpattia military lyceums were assigned new ranks. The ceremony of awarding epaulettes to young soldiers of the Zakarpattia Oblast Boarding Lyceum with enhanced military and physical training named after the heroes of the Red Field of the regional council was timed to the recent Day of Defenders of Ukraine.
