About us: The "Active Community" initiative was launched by activists of the "Republika'' Institute after the Euromaidan (2014), which focused on the activation and involvement of Ukrainians in the decision-making process. The goal for 2025: to activate and involve at least 1% of citizens in making decisions and promoting reforms in Ukraine on a systematic basis for the well-being of Ukrainian communities. Today we work in 30 communities in Ukraine.

There are no significant changes in the enemy's activity in the Volyn, Polissya, and Siversky directions. The enemy shelled the areas of Mykolaivka, Volfyne, Pavlivka and Ulanove settlements in the Sumy oblast with barrel and rocket artillery.

In the Kharkiv direction, shelling was recorded, in particular, near Stary Saltiv, Petrivka, Rusky Tyshki, Pechenihy, Tsyrkuny, Pytomnyk, Dementiyvka, and Korobochyne. The enemy launched airstrikes near Mospanovove and Rtyshchivka. It unsuccessfully tried to advance in the direction of the village of Pytomnyk.

In the Slovyansk direction, the enemy carried out fire damage from tanks, barrel and rocket artillery in the areas of Dolyna, Bohorodychne, Kostyantynivka, Husarivka, Velyka Komyshuvaha, Pokrovske and other settlements. Ukrainian soldiers again successfully repelled enemy assaults in the Bohorodychne district.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy shelled the Kramatorsk, Serebryanka, Verkhnokamyanske and Ivano-Daryivka districts with artillery. Delivered missile and air strikes near Kramatorsk and Slovyansk.

Assault actions in the districts of Hryhorivka and Spirne ended with losses and retreat for the enemy.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy is trying to create favorable conditions for establishing control over the city of Bakhmut and the territory of the Vuhlehirska TPP through combat operations. It carried out shelling in the areas of the settlements of Berestove, Vesele, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Vesela Dolyna, Kodema, Mayorsk, New York and others. It airstrikes on Pokrovske. Conducts assault operations in the Berestove area and on the approaches to the Vuhlegirskaya TPP, hostilities continue.

In the Avdiyivka, Novopavlivka, and Zaporizkzhia directions, the enemy continues systematic shelling of civilian and military infrastructure in the areas of settlements Novobakhmutivka, Avdiyivka, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Volodymyrivka, Pavlivka, Prechistivka, Velyka Novosilka, Zelene Pole, Novoukrainka, Olhivske, Malynivka, Hulyaipole, Preobrazhenka, Zaliznychne , Kamianske. Airstrikes were recorded near Avdiyivka, Kamianske and Novoandriivka.

The occupiers again failed another combat reconnaissance in the area of ​​Novoselivka Druha, suffered losses and retreated. Enemy units advancing in the direction of Mykilske and Novomykhailivka had the same participation.

In the South Buh direction, the enemy is concentrating its main efforts on preventing the advance of our troops deep into the temporarily occupied territory. Conducts intensive reconnaissance of the UAV. Conducted systematic shelling of civilian and military infrastructure in the areas of Osokorivka, Olhyne, Ivanivka, Velyke Artakove, Lozove, Shyroke, Kvitneve, Lyubomyrivka, Berezneguvate, Kotlyareve, Stepova Dolyna, Nova Zorya, Lupareve and a number of others. Delivered missile and air strikes near Murakhivka and Novohruhorivlka.

Northern Oblasts

Kyiv Oblast

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Jan Lipavski, and Austria, Alexander Schallenberg, arrived in Kyiv Oblast on an official visit. They examined the remains of our "Mriya" aircraft at the military airfield "Antonov" in Gostomel. Next, the foreign delegation visited the damaged residential areas in the city of Irpin.

The Center for National Resistance has assembled an evidence base about military personnel of the 83rd separate assault airborne brigade from the city of Ussuriysk, Primorsky Krai. Together with other units, this brigade participated in the offensive on the Kyiv Oblast in February 2022 and committed atrocities in the city of Bucha.

Restoration work continues in the region. Lyceum No.1 of the Hostomel settlement council suffered considerable damage during hostilities in the Kyiv Oblast. 139 doors, 111 windows and 187 glass units were broken in the institution, and more than 30 radiators were deformed. The building is being restored at the expense of patrons. This was reported by the head of the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration, Oleksiy Kuleba.

 

Zhytomyr Oblast

The general situation in the community is relatively calm. 

Representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to cooperate with defense headquarters at all levels. Representatives of the territorial defense patrol and keep watch at checkpoints.

Another collaborator was reported suspected in Zhytomyr Oblast. Berdychev's resident justified russia's armed aggression and spread fakes and anti-Ukrainian texts on a banned social network.

Deputy Head of the Zhytomyr Oblast Military Administration Viktor Hradivskyi took part in the meeting chaired by the Vice-Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk. The meeting discussed the resettlement of internally displaced persons temporarily living in educational institutions in connection with preparations for the beginning of the academic year.

Chernihiv Oblast

On the morning of July 19, the russians massively shelled the Semenivka community, about 100 shells exploded. The Novhorod-Siverskyi hromada was also shelled, the russian army fired barrel artillery and MLRS three times a day, and 48 explosions were recorded.

A solemn funeral of the warrior of the 1st tank Seversk brigade Alexei Babakov took place in Chernihiv.  

Today emergency response groups neutralized explosive objects by detonation near the villages of Krasne, Yagidne and Shestovytsy.

Sumy Oblast

The night in Sumy Oblast was quiet, but at 8 a.m. shelling began. The Shostka hromada was shelled with mortars, the details are being clarified. 

As a result of yesterday's shelling of the village of Yastrubyne, a house was damaged, two people were injured, one of them is currently in the intensive care unit.

Today, at about 12 o'clock, the enemy shelled the Esman hromada. The church, public toilet and power lines were damaged.

Eastern Regions

Kharkiv Oblast

At night, the russians attacked Chuhuiv and Bohodukhiv districts.  

The enemy army shelled the settlements of Kharkiv, Lozova and Izium districts of the oblast. Residential buildings, outbuildings, commercial facilities and an educational institution were damaged. Some people were killed and wounded. A 61-year-old man died in the Izium district. 7 civilians were injured: in Kharkiv district – 5 wounded, in Chuhuiv district – 1, in Bohodukhiv district – 1.

As a result of the morning shelling of Kharkiv by multiple rocket launchers, 3 people were killed, including a 13-year-old boy, and the victim's 15-year-old sister was injured. A 72-year-old woman was also hospitalized.

Donetsk Oblast

In the Slaviansk direction, shelling from tanks and artillery was recorded near Dolyna, Krasnopillya, Kostyantynivka, Chepil, Husarivka and Adamivka.

In the Donetsk direction, the aggressor shelled the areas of Kramatorsk, Siversk, Serebryanka, Hryhorivka, Verkhnyokamianske, Spirne, Ivano-Daryivka with barrel and rocket artillery. The enemy launched an airstrike near Verkhnokamianske. The russians are conducting assaults in the direction of Ivano-Daryivka, hostilities continue.

On the Avdiivka, Novopavlivske and Zaporizhzhia directions, shelling was reported in the areas of Novobakhmutivka, Vugledar, Novopil, Poltavka, Huliaipole, Kamianske, and a number of others. The enemy launched an airstrike near Avdiivka.

The invaders conducted reconnaissance by battle in the area of Novoselivka Druga and advanced in the direction of Mykilske, without success, and withdrew..

On July 19, the russians killed 5 civilians in Donetsk Oblast: 2 in Krasnopillya, 1 in Kramatorsk, 1 in Soledar and 1 in Avdiivka. Another 16 people were injured.

Since the beginning of the russian invasion of Ukraine, as a result of shelling and bombing in Donetsk Oblast, 631 civilians have died, and another 1,626 have been injured.

Kramatorsk

One dead, six injured - these are the consequences of today's rocket attack on Kramatorsk. According to the conclusions of explosives technicians, the enemy used a R-37 air cruise missile. Ten high-rise buildings in the central part of the city were damaged.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

Russian occupiers hit the cities of Kurakhove, Avdiivka, and Hirnyk. The enemy used R-37 missiles, S-300 air defense systems, Grad and Tornado-S multiple-launch rocket systems, and artillery installations against civilians.

The past day in the Pokrovsk community was relatively calm. No facts were recorded regarding casualties and destruction during the day.

Today, vulnerable residents of Rodinskyi city (Pokrovsk community) received humanitarian aid from World Central Kitchen.

There was a morning shelling of Selydovo (Pokrovsk Raion). The mayor of the town, Ruslan Sukov, reported on the situation in the community.

Pokrovsk sportsmen are preparing for the world tournament in sambo and mixed martial arts.

Bakhmut

In the Bakhmut direction, the occupiers are conducting combat operations to create conditions for an offensive on the Bakhmut city and to take over the territory of the Vuhlehirsk TPP. Shelling was carried out from tanks, barrel and rocket artillery in the areas of the settlements of Berestove, Bilohorivka, Yakovlivka, Pokrovske, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Vesela Dolyna, Kodema. The enemy carried out airstrikes on Berestove, Yakovlivka, Bakhmut, Vershyna, New York and Pokrovske.

Fighting continues in the direction of Berestove, Vershyna and Novoluhanske.

The Bakhmut community suffers from constant enemy shelling. On July 19, the occupiers mercilessly shelled the central part of the Bakhmut city.

Mariupol

The occupiers have destroyed the entire infrastructure of Mariupol and are not making any preparations, so there will be no heating season in the city. This was announced by the mayor Vadym Boychenko.

Luhansk Oblast

At night, the russians shelled Bilohorivka, rocket artillery was used.

It is impossible to evacuate from Bilohorivka and Verkhnokamianka due to constant shelling.

The russians now plan to recognize the entire Luhansk Oblast as the so-called "lnr" and hold a referendum. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are destroying the enemy, so there are losses of personnel among the occupiers.

Southern Oblasts

Odesa Oblast

At night, the enemy launched a missile attack on Odesa using Su-35 aircraft. One of the missiles, presumably Kh-59, was destroyed by anti-aircraft defense forces, the second hit an abandoned warehouse building. The fire was promptly extinguished by rescuers. There were no casualties. This was reported by the operational command "South".

In Odesa, police officers exposed a local resident who called on the aggressor state for active hostilities in the city. The law enforcement officers established that a fan of the "russian mir" repeatedly sent messages to russian chat rooms with a request to carry out a missile attack on Odesa, similar to those that shook Vinnytsia. Operatives of police department №2 of Odesa district police department №1 detained the intruder at his place of residence. During the search of his home, the police seized a computer and a mobile phone with evidence of his collaborative activities. As part of the pre-trial investigation, initiated under part 1 of article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaborative activity), the seized equipment was sent for examination. Law enforcement officers are now checking Odesa residents for involvement in aiding the enemy.

The International House of Regensburg in Odesa, together with the Burgomaster of Regensburg, Mrs. Astrid Freudenstein, help large families and people with disabilities to move to a safe zone in this wonderful city. Today, Deputy Mayor Pavlo Vugelman held a meeting with the management of the organization, where they jointly planned to send the fourth bus with 50 Odesa residents to Regensburg. They are provided with free transportation, accommodation, food and treatment. Deputy Mayor thanked the organization and the sister city of Regensburg for their care and assistance to Ukrainians.

The situation is tense due to the threat of missile strikes. People are united and active, they are involved in volunteering.

The coordinator of AUI "Active Community" provided information to citizens about receiving psychological, social assistance and humanitarian aid.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Russian troops shelled Nikopol: 2 people were killed, 9 were wounded. Shelling in the city destroyed 3 private residential buildings, damaged 12 houses and 4 farm buildings. There were fires in the private housing sector. Undetonated ammunition is scattered around the city. The territory is fenced.

As a result of the shelling of Kryvyi Rih Raion, 50 hectares of fields near the Shyroke community were burned. Shells hit agricultural lands with wheat and rapeseed. Also, russian troops fired barrel artillery at the park zone of Zelenodolsk.

2 enemy drones were shot down over the oblast.

On July 9, the Ingulets district of Kryvyi Rih was shelled by the russian military. 282 residents of the district applied for financial assistance to the social welfare department of the city council. While waiting for compensation, the consequences of the cluster shells explosions are eliminated: broken windows, doors and damaged roofs are covered with the provided building materials.

In Dnipro, the Country's Defense Fund handed over humanitarian aid for internally displaced persons to a volunteer station. The packages for IDPs contain basic necessities: food, medicine and hygiene kits. All this humanitarian aid weighing 20 tons came from Azerbaijan.

Musician Mykola Serga and rapper Yarmak performed for defenders of Ukraine in Dnipro. The artists visited city and oblast medical institutions, and also visited the rescuers of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The team has already visited the fighters on the front lines in Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, in the Kherson direction and in the Bakhmut Raion.

Kirovohrad Oblast

The day in the oblast passed calmly, there were no air alarms. In general, the situation in the communities is calm and under control.

The head of the Kirovohrad Oblast Military Administration, Andrii Raykovych, said that in the morning he once again instructed the emergency workers everywhere to check the condition of shelters on the premises of all forms of ownership. And, necessarily, the presence of signs.

Volunteer centres from the communities of Kirovohrad Oblast can receive such services from financial support for volunteers to mentoring assistance. Implementation of this program in the oblast was initiated by the Kirovohrad oblast organization "Association for the Promotion of Self-Organization of the Population". According to public activists, the program involves training volunteers in project management, digital fundraising, crowdfunding, team building, and cooperation with benefactors and authorities. In addition, volunteer organizations will be able to receive financial and media support and get to know the successful practices of Ukrainian and foreign volunteer centres.

Preparations for the new heating season are in full swing in Kropyvnytskyi. According to utility companies' managers, the heat-generating enterprise's readiness for a start-up is 50%, and the readiness of domestic networks to receive the coolant is estimated at 55-57%. The Deputy Mayor of Kropyvnytskyi, Oleksandr Mosin, noted that this year the authorities rely exclusively on the existing heat supply network and heat-generating equipment, special attention is paid to the replacement of emergency sections of heat pipes, shut-off fittings, and repair of pump and boiler equipment.

The coordinator of the AUI "Active Community" worked at the Humanitarian Center for Internally Displaced Persons, forming packages with food and hygiene items, and sorting clothes.

Poltava Oblast

Today in Poltava near the Holy Assumption Cathedral, a farewell was held for fourteen defenders of Ukraine - Soldier Andriy Budantsev, 38 years old; senior soldier Vladyslav Grechikhin, 25 years old; soldier Tymofiy Zakabluk, 26 years old; soldier Pavlo Ivashchenko, 49 years old; Sergeant Anatoly Kir'yan, 44 years old; soldier Artem Korsun, 30 years old; junior sergeant Oleksandr Lastovin; captain Ihor Leshchin died at the age of 49; soldier Ivan Lysenko; soldier Mykola Lomov, 45 years old; senior soldier Yaroslav, 44 years old; Sergeant Anatoly Malichenko, 49 years old; soldier Maksym Ostyak, 35 years old; sergeant Eduard Tsvitchenko, 50 years old. The Poltava City Council published the first results of a survey of parents regarding the form of education of children in 5 Poltava schools. A total of 3,839 parents of students were interviewed. Of them, 1,209 (31.5%) parents prefer face-to-face education, and 2,630 (68.5%) want their children to receive education remotely. 

In Poltava, the second meeting of the working group on renaming streets and other objects on the territory of the Poltava urban territorial community took place. Elders of Starosty districts of the community were invited to the meeting. The members of the working group, together with the elders and representatives of the population self-organisation bodies, discussed the streets and alleys in the eldership districts recommended for renaming, as well as those that are planned to be recommended to be excluded from the list for renaming.

The Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital received a modern anaesthetic breathing apparatus from the Mindray company from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. It allows to carry out anaesthesia with the help of inhalation anaesthetics - in accordance with world medical standards. 

The Brickmania company released lego figures of Ukrainian defenders. Among them is a figurine of Kateryna Galushka, a paramedic and communicator of the central office of AUI "Active Community", who hails from Poltava. Kateryna is currently saving the lives of soldiers as part of the "Hospitaliers" medical battalion. 

The team of AUI "Active Community" conducted preparations for an art therapy event for families of internally displaced persons and families raising children with disabilities, which will be held at the "Senegal" tourist camp.

Khmilnyk and Khmilnyk Raion

During the day, air raid signals sounded. The situation is calm.

Three residents of Khmelnyk died in the battles for Ukraine - Vinnichenko Oleksandr, Bilyk Viktor and Shurko Serhiy.

The military from Kozyatyn, who are on the front lines, needed a drone. Volunteer Serhii Sivakivskyi announced a fundraiser through social networks. In less than two weeks, thanks to caring people, it was possible to collect more than one hundred thousand hryvnias for equipment that will become the eyes of Ukrainian soldiers and help defeat the enemy.

Kalinivsk community of Khmilnyk raion is preparing for the new school year: set up shelters at kindergartens and schools. Where it is impossible to do this, they look for storage facilities nearby, conclude agreements with establishments where they are available.

Western Oblasts

Lviv Oblast

There were no air alert notifications.

Another 221 people arrived in Lviv by two evacuation trains. Evacuation buses also arrive in Lviv oblast. They were organized by the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. Since May, it has been possible to evacuate 1,300 people from Voskresensk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv and other places where active hostilities are taking place to relatively safe oblasts of Ukraine. The organizers of the evacuations communicate closely with the medical and psychological assistance organized by the Lviv Oblast State Administration. Volunteers meet people who need help. 808 people were sent from Lviv Oblast to Przemyśl by four trains.

17 thousand 187 people crossed the exit checkpoints in the Lviv oblast during the day. 36 thousand people left Ukraine through the western border. Instead, 34,000 citizens of Ukraine returned.

The head of the Lviv Oblast State Administration Maksym Kozytskyi met with the Hungarian delegation led by the State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Foreign Economy and Foreign Affairs of Hungary Levente Modyor. During the meeting, Mr. Modyor noted that Hungary can currently accept about 300 wounded Ukrainian children for treatment, and also wants to continue the medical program for the military, which was started in 2014. As Mr. Modyor noted, he personally came to Lviv Oblast to find out what else Hungary can do to help.

At the district administrations of Lviv Oblast, consultation and coordination centers for displaced persons will start working. In the Lviv oblast, a working group was created to coordinate the resettlement of internally displaced persons. According to Andrii Godyk, the first deputy head of the Lviv Oblast Military Administration, the same working groups should be established in the district military administrations, the main task of which is to prepare educational institutions as much as possible for the academic year and at the same time provide internally displaced persons with proper living conditions.

It is noted that according to the inspections carried out by the employees of the State Service for Emergency Situations, the shelters of 37% of schools in the oblast have already been inspected.

Rivne Oblast

The general situation is relatively calm, as of 16:40 there were no air alarms.

Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine patrol the border with Belarus. Representatives of the security forces patrol and are on duty at checkpoints.

Currently, there are 37 relocated enterprises operating in the Rivne region. Most of the enterprises moved from Kharkiv, Kyiv, Donetsk and Mykolaiv regions. 

Almost 12,000 hryvnias were collected for the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the youth of the Sarnen community in the Rivne region during a charity fair. 

Kamianets-Podilskyi

Today, representatives of the city council continue to issue food kits to displaced people in preferential categories (thanks to the cooperation of the city council and the "World Central Kitchen" charitable foundation). About 1,000 families received help yesterday and today.

Ukrainians should prepare in advance for a severe winter: from insulating houses to providing alternative sources of heat. The Coordinating Council works in the City Council on issues of preparation for the winter period during the war. Utility companies are instructed to think about backup options for supplying heat, water, and electricity.

A summer leisure school is open for all children free of charge at the Center for Children's and Youth Creativity.

In the community, there are again delays in payments in the treasury. Employees of utility companies are waiting more than 10 days for an advance. This issue is at the state level, because in the first place payments related to martial law are made.

Today is the first day of the "Young Ambassador Course" project. This is a pilot project for the training of young promoters, launched by the Department of Humanitarian Policy with the support of the best of the best in the field of tourism. Over the course of five weeks, 19 young people, who were forced by the war to leave their home and find shelter in Kamianets-Podilskyi, will get to know the history of the city. Interactive activities, excursions, quests in combination with leisure and recreation in various forms await course participants. After training, future promoters will prepare individual presentations of the city "How Kamianets-Podilskyi will remain in my heart." In the final, each participant of the project, on the Independence Day of Ukraine, will receive the title of "Young Ambassador", a certificate of completion of the course. And also - a case of recommendations from guides, which will allow you to independently develop and implement any excursions in the future.

The coordinators of AUI "Active Community" collected fabric for weaving camouflage nets and delivered it to the destination. An art therapy session was held for children and adults.

Chernivtsi Oblast

Currently, the security situation in the territory of Chernivtsi Oblast is fully controlled.

Bukovyna bid farewell to the heroes who gave their lives for the freedom of Ukraine in the battles against the Russian invaders - senior soldier Dmytro Yakubovsky, soldiers Maksym Kravets, Mykola Gorban and Andrii Bozhek.

The living conditions of forced migrants have improved in the Hlybotsk community. A boiler and a shower are installed in their compact living spaces. The kitchen was also equipped - a refrigerator, electric stoves, kettles, microwave ovens, and electric dryers were purchased. Assistance to internally displaced persons was provided within the framework of the project "Operative support of the needs of communities of Chernivtsi oblast regarding the reception of internally displaced persons", which is implemented by the Bukovyna Community Development Agency.

At a charity concert at the Chernivtsi National University, nearly 6,000 hryvnias were collected for shoes and uniforms for the Ukrainian military. During the event, participants of the shows "Voice of the Country" and "Everyone Sings" - the trio "Girls in jazz" performed.

Today, Inna Pashanyuk, the regional coordinator of Active Community in Chernivtsi, helped internally displaced persons with their job search: she contacted employers, provided information about available vacancies to displaced persons, contacted the authorities on this issue and others.

Zakarpattia Oblast

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the work of doctors has increased significantly, because the population of the region has increased several times. Since February 24, more than 100,000 forcibly displaced persons have received medical services from Transcarpathian doctors. In particular, as of July 20, this number is 113,202 people.

The first summer mathematics school opened in Uzhhorod. More than 250 local students and internally displaced children now have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of mathematics under the guidance of leading teachers.

In Mukachevo, a new world record was set for breaking boards with a foot. In 60 seconds, the record holder managed to break 198 boards with his foot.
