About us: The Active Community Initiative, launched by activists of the Respublika Institute after the Euromaidan (2014), focused on activating and involving Ukrainians in the decision-making process. The goal for 2025 is to activate and involve at least 1% of citizens in decision-making and promoting reforms in Ukraine on a systematic basis for the well-being of Ukrainian communities. Today we work in 30 communities in Ukraine.


Ukraine in brief:

The one hundred eighths (108) day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people to a russian military invasion continues.

In the north of Ukraine, the situation has not changed significantly.

The russian occupiers are shelling civilian infrastructure in the village of Myropilske, Sumy oblast.

The situation in the Kharkiv direction has not changed significantly. The enemy focused its efforts on maintaining the occupied frontiers. The enemy fired on civilian infrastructure in the areas of the settlements of Uda, Prudyanka, Tsyrkuny and Verkhniy Saltiv. It struck air strikes in the Ternova and Rubizhne districts.

The enemy carried out systematic artillery shelling in the Slovyansk direction. Ukrainian soldiers successfully repulsed an enemy assault in the areas of Brazhkivka, Dolyna and Virnopilla. The occupiers withdrew. With the support of mortars, artillery, and multiple rocket launchers, the enemy is trying to gain a foothold in Bohorodychne, and fighting continues. The enemy is actively using electronic warfare.

In the Siverodonetsk direction, the enemy fired on civilian infrastructure in the districts of Siverodonetsk, Lysychansk, Metolkino, Ustynivka and Toshkivka.

Ukrainian soldiers successfully resist the assault of the enemy in Siverodonetsk. Part of the enemy units are storming the Toshkivka area, and fighting continues. In addition, the enemy assault was successfully repulsed in the area of ​​Metolkino. The occupiers withdrew.

The enemy had to strengthen the group by introducing reserve units into the operation.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy conducted artillery shelling of our positions near Mykolayivka, Bilohorivka, Hirske, Komyshuvakha, and Novoluhansky. Using army aircraft, it launched an air strike near Pokrovsky.

In the area of ​​Popasna, our defenders successfully stopped the enemy's offensive. The occupiers had to withdraw.

The enemy is advancing in the area of ​​Nyrkovo, fighting continues. In the direction of Mykolaivka the enemy's offensive was choked. Under heavy fire from our soldiers, the occupiers withdrew.

In the area of ​​Berestovo, the enemy suffered losses during the assault and withdrew to previously occupied positions.

The occupiers did not conduct active hostilities in the Avdiivka, Kurakhiv, Novopavliv and Zaporizhzhia areas. Civilian infrastructure was shelled in the areas of New York, Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka and Novoandriyivka. They were attacked by assault aircraft near Marinka.

In the South Buh direction, the enemy fired at Ukrainian positions in the areas of Dobryanka, Velyka Kostromka, Murakhivka, and Prybuzke in order to deter our troops. The enemy also tried to fight the battery.

The occupiers struck with assault and army aircraft near Snihurivka and Topolyny.

The enemy continues to suffer significant losses. In order to organize medical support for the actions of a group of Russian troops in the Slobozhansky direction, the 442nd Military Clinical Hospital from st. petersburg is additionally deploying a field hospital in the village of Shebekino, Belgorod region.


Northern Oblasts 

Kyiv 

The level of defense of the capital is not being reduced at the moment, but the defense is being strengthened. The speaker of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Motuzyanyk noted that in the near future experts do not predict an attack by the russians on Kyiv. However, the capital of Ukraine remains the main target of the occupiers.

The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Kyiv. She was one of the first foreign leaders to come to Kyiv as soon as possible after the deoccupation. During her first trip to Kyiv, the President of the European Commission handed over a questionnaire to Ukraine, which must be completed in order to be considered for EU candidate status. Ukraine has done its best. Ursula von der Leyen said that she and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would sum up the joint work needed for recovery and the progress Ukraine had made on its European path.

 


Kyiv Oblast

A pilot modular town for IDP “RE: Ukraine” migrants will be built in Bucha, the Balbek Bureau architectural studio reported. They found a site for the construction of a pilot modular camp for migrants. 15 families will be able to settle there.

Zhytomyr Oblast

In Zhytomyr, Novohrad-Volynskyi and Berdychiv, specialists from the regional department of the Security Service of Ukraine found collaborators who publicly supported the so-called "special operation" of russia and called the right actions of the russian military in Ukraine.

Zhytomyr Oblast has signed a statement of cooperation with the UNICEF Children's Fund. It officially launches a program of cooperation throughout the Zhytomyr Oblast.

In Zhytomyr, free training on home care is held once a week. Yesterday half a hundred Zhytomyr residents joined the participation. The training is conducted by employees of the Training and Methodological Center for Civil Protection and Life Safety of Zhytomyr Oblast.


Chernihiv Oblast

At night there was an air alarm.

Today, in one of the border communities of Koryukivshchyna, where the russian occupation forces were in March, the Ukrainian military found an F-1 grenade, which was used as a "stretcher". The military destroyed the grenade on the spot.

From Vinnytsia Lukashivka to Lukashivka, Chernihiv region, concerned residents are collecting aid. Residents of other villages of the Yakushinets community joined the action: Iskrynia and Dashkivtsi. Vinnytsia volunteers help to contact the villagers in Chernihiv Oblast and make a list of necessary things. Help will be brought in a week. Local entrepreneurs who provide their own products also help, in particular, local entrepreneur Oleksandr Didych provided cookies and flour.

Chernihiv Paralympian Dmytro Suyarko has put up for auction his bronze medal at the 2022 Paralympic Games. All proceeds from the sale of the medal will go to charity and assistance to the Ukrainian army. The starting price on Ebay is $ 5,000.


Sumy Oblast

Yesterday, russian troops continued shelling the border of Sumy Oblast. After 10 am on the territory of the Esman community from russia, the enemy opened fire with mortars, 10 flights. About 13 o'clock on the territory of the Krasnopol community the enemy began artillery shelling with heavy artillery. One person died from injuries received during the shelling. At 17:30 the enemy opened mortar fire, 18 blows on the Velykopysariv community. There are no destructions and victims.

At night, the russians damaged the homes of civilians in Vorozhba and power lines with mortar fire from their territory. About 5 hits, windows were broken in several houses, walls were cut down. The russians also fired 8 times from a mortar at the Shalygin community. There are no casualties or damage.


Eastern Oblasts 

Kharkiv Oblast

The russian occupiers have continued shelling Kharkiv and the Oblast’s settlements over the past 24 hours.

An industrial building was damaged in the Kyiv Raion of Kharkiv. No one was injured.

In the village of Korobochkyne, Chuhuiv district, a shell hit a private house. Rescuers rescued 2 dead men and 2 women from the rubble. Another person was injured in Korobochkin. Also 2 people were injured in Dergachi, 1 - in the village of Pechenigy, 2 - in the village of Malinovka.

Fighting continues in the Oblast. In the Kharkiv direction, the occupiers are trying to prevent the Armed Forces of Ukraine from reaching the state border. In the area of ​​Izyum, the enemy carried out assault operations in the direction of Pasik - Bogorodichne, trying to gain a foothold on the outskirts of Bogorodichnoe. The armed forces of Ukraine are holding back the enemy and inflicting significant losses on him.


Donetsk Oblast

Over the past 24 hours, the defenders of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk areas repulsed fourteen enemy attacks, destroyed four tanks, two artillery systems, eleven armored combat vehicles, three units of vehicles and a warehouse with enemy ammunition. Air defense units shot down four Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles.

On June 10, the russians killed two civilians in the Donetsk Oblast: in Kostiantynivka and Girnyk. Another 7 people were injured.

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, 491 civilians have been killed and 1,264 wounded in shelling and bombing in the Donetsk region.


Kramatorsk

No enemy action has been recorded in the city.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine and local Territorial Defense fighters are preparing to meet the enemy.

The entire Donetsk Oblast is without electricity. There is no power at the transformer substation 330. Repair crews went to the scene to find out the reasons.

The situation is generally alarming. As a result of the de-energization of the oblast, the issue of charging phones and cooking has sharply arisen. Given the high temperature - the townspeople have difficulty cooking on an open fire. In many yards of high-rise buildings, stoves and firewood have already been built. As of 19:00 in Kramatorsk power supply was restored.

The coordinator of AUI "Active Community" coordinated the departure of a group of people from Lysychansk to Dnipro. Families with children and pets have finally been sent to safer regions of the country.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

The occupiers did not take any active action in the Avdiivka and Kurakhove directions. They fired mortars, artillery and rocket-propelled grenades in the areas of Avdiivka and Marinka.

At night, the city of Girnyk (Kurakhovo community, Pokrovsk Raion) was shelled by russians. High-rise buildings, an outpatient clinic, private houses and a garage were damaged. There was one victim. The head of the community Roman Pedun reports about it.

According to the Donetsk Prosecutor's Office, on June 9 and 10, the enemy once again shelled the towns of Avdiivka, Netaylove and Pervomaiske in the Pokrovsk Raion.

The past day in the community was relatively calm. There were no casualties or damage. Utilities worked in a regular mode. Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine repulsed the enemy. Representatives of the local Territorial Defense unit conducted patrols in the Pokrovsk community.

Avdiivka law enforcement officers are serving in difficult conditions. They go around the streets to pick up the wounded - the police find and rescue the wounded civilians.

The service takes place in four shifts. The police serve not only the city, but also more than 20 villages, all of which are under daily attacks from the russians.


Bakhmut

In the Bakhmut direction, the occupiers are regrouping in order to attack Mykolayivka and Komyshuvakha. To strengthen the grouping of troops were transferred to one battalion tactical group.


Due to the fighting, the Bakhmut district was de-energized. Specialists of the Bakhmut Regional Center for Electricity Services are working on the restoration. According to the head of the Donetsk military administration Pavel Kyrylenko, the russians are purposefully beating critical infrastructure facilities to complicate the lives of locals who still remain in the oblast.

In Bakhmut, medical care was provided to one person injured in Luhansk Oblast.

Mariupol

Occupation "authorities" make life in the city unbearable. Mariupol residents are forced to stand in huge queues for everything: food, water, medicine. It is possible to take a hot shower only in the humanitarian headquarters of the occupiers from 11 to 16, ie in the greatest heat. The occupiers also launched a water supply, but it began to run out of pipes. Large water streams are now spreading through the city, carrying garbage and infections. Ukrainian authorities report the threat of cholera in Mariupol.

The occupiers recently opened a "branch" of the bank in a metal container. The Russians are demolishing houses that they destroyed themselves. Owners are not allowed in the surviving parts of the houses to take away personal belongings.


Luhansk Oblast

The russians hit Vrubivka with the flamethrower system "Solntsepek". Many houses burned down. The occupiers are destroying infrastructure. They also entered Orikhove and stormed Severodonetsk. Most of the city is controlled by the occupiers.


The russians deported Ukrainians From the temporarily occupied Popasna to Pervomaisk. When they were allowed to return, they saw the looted houses.

Five residents of Lysychansk, who had been injured in recent days, were hospitalized in Dnipro and Lviv hospitals.

Humanitarian aid is being delivered to Lysychansk.


Southern Oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast

The occupiers continue to fire at the Mykolaiv Oblast. Mykolaiv and Bashtanka Raions are under fire, namely: Shiroke, Ingulka, Bereznehuvate and Halytsynivka communities. There are casualties in the village of Lymany. In total for last days in the Mykolaiv Oblast 8 people were wounded.

Odesa Oblast

The day in the community was peaceful.

The danger of missile strikes remains. The Armed Forces of Ukraine conduct training. Representatives of the local Territorial Defense unit equip fortifications to defend the oblast.

People are united and active, they are engaged in volunteering.

Local authorities emphasize that the situation is currently under control, but the threat of missile shelling remains.

A motorized patrol returns to the roads of Odesa. Police officers on motorcycles will join the protection of public order in the city.

An enemy mine was again torn from anchor and brought to the Black Sea coast of Odesa Oblast.

It was found 20 meters from the shore. The mine detonated just in the sea, probably after a collision with another object.

The coordinator of AUI "Active Community" provided information to citizens on receiving psychological, informational assistance and humanitarian aid.


Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

The russians fired from a rocket system of volley fire "Hurricane" at Velyka Kostromka. A 71-year-old man was injured and had a shrapnel wound to his leg. As a result of the shelling, a house of culture, two houses, a summer kitchen and a gas pipeline were damaged in the village.

The enemy also fired on the Shyroke community. One man was injured in the leg and is currently in hospital. Several houses in the village were partially destroyed.

Russian shells practically destroyed a private house in the village of Pokrovske.

In Dnipro, the Security Service of Ukraine detained a man who was collecting and transmitting information about the Ukrainian military to the occupiers. According to the investigation, the citizen of Ukraine passed to the administrators of pro-russian "YouTube" and "Telegram" channels videos with the deployment of National Guard units, the movement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and military equipment on the Dnipro.

In Dnipro, the group "Tanok na maydani Kongo" [also known as "TNMK"] at a metro station held a charity concert. The raised funds will be used to purchase an ambulance for the military.


Kirovohrad Oblast

The situation in the community is under control. An air raid alert was issued due to the threat of a missile strike.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine guard the borders of the region and military facilities. Territorial defence fighters are on duty at checkpoints and patrol the city with police.

In Kropyvnytskyi, the Poetry Without Shelter project brought together poets from all over Ukraine and Ukrainians living abroad. One of the first publications about the current war will be published soon. The book will include poems by 70 poets they wrote in the first month of the war. The authors were well-known artists and novice authors of different ages, life experiences, poetry styles. A quarter of the proceeds from the sale of the book will be transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On June 8, the collection of signatures for a petition posted on the official website of the President of Ukraine on a first aid course for teachers and high school students began. Its author is Yuri Kozachinsky, a volunteer and serviceman from Kropyvnytskyi. "In order to improve the living standards and health of pupils, students and teachers from possible missiles, air strikes, sabotage, it is necessary to conduct mandatory training in first aid for all school teachers and university professors," the text reads. "All classrooms and premises where the educational process takes place must be provided with the necessary first aid equipment." The author of the petition proposes to conduct a course of tactical medicine for high school students and college students as part of a separate course. Of the 25,000 votes needed to take effect, 209 were collected. The petition can be signed within the next three months.

Poltava Oblast

The head of the Poltava Oblast Military Administration, Dmytro Lunin, said that the community had received another aid from its Western partners - 163 high-quality Belgian tents. Comfortable and reliable tents of different sizes will be handed over to the Ukrainian military.


From today in Poltava there are new tariffs for travel in transport: 10 hryvnias - in a trolleybus; 12 hryvnias - in municipal buses; 15 hryvnias - in private buses and minibuses. People are outraged by this increase in tariffs.

In Poltava, they are initiating the dismantling of the modern russian coat of arms from the bell tower of the Poltava Exaltation of the Cross Monastery, which was illegally installed during repair work in 2013. (https://poltava.to/project/7374/)

Vinnytsia Oblast

Khmilnyk

The day in the community passed quietly. There were no air defense siren signals.

On June 10, in the central square of the city, the Kozyatyn community said goodbye to Ilya Antonyuk. He volunteered to defend our peace. His relatives, school friends and fellow villagers came to see off the Hero on his last journey.

At the request of the Kalinov mayor of Khmilnyk Raion to the Vinnytsia Interregional Coordination Humanitarian Headquarters, the Kalinov region received more than three tons of poultry meat for the needs of the community. The frozen products were provided by the Vinnytsia Poultry Farm. The products were distributed in the Kalinov community to feed the forcibly displaced persons at the accommodation point in Nova Hrebla and to prepare canned meat for Ukrainian defenders. And more than 200 kilograms of poultry were donated to private entrepreneur Vladislav Bartosz, who makes meat porridge for the military.

Western Oblasts

Rivne Oblast

The general situation is relatively calm, there were no air alarms.

Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine patrol the border with Belarus. Representatives of the Territorial Defense are patrolling and on duty at checkpoints.

The Rivne Oblast Military Administration informs daily about the availability of fuel at gas stations in the oblast.

In the Rivne oblast, internally displaced citizens become volunteers and active participants in social projects. In particular, in one of the communities in the Rivneoblast lives a family that has twice fled the war - they help the military, help in the volunteer center.

Zakarpattia Oblast

Today, Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko is on a working visit to Zakarpattia. A volunteer medical office has been operating in Uzhhorod for 2 months now. Here from 09.00 to 16.00. more than 20 doctors and interns treat migrant patients free of charge.


In Uzhgorod, the settlers organized a theater. Ms. Oksana, a resident of Bucha, worked for the Association of Film Commissions of Ukraine. Since the russian invasion of Ukraine, she has been forced to move to Uzhhorod. She volunteered in Uzhhorod for a long time. While working, she met like-minded people. On June 10, in the Bozdosh Park of Uzhhorod, the Caritas Charitable Foundation organized a Myrolito holiday for children - a festival of children's joy. The children had a lot of interesting activities - aqua makeup, wax graphics, "Bubble Show", many workshops, creative competitions, delicacies and prizes.


The coordinators of the Active Community AUI were involved in weaving camouflage nets, disassembling humanitarian aid, receiving and then distributing food to hospitals and military units.
