The one hundred twenty sixth (126) day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people to a russian military invasion continues. 

About us: The Active Community Initiative, launched by activists of the Respublika Institute after the Euromaidan (2014), focused on activating and involving Ukrainians in the decision-making process. The goal for 2025 is to activate and involve at least 1% of citizens in decision-making and promoting reforms in Ukraine on a systematic basis for the well-being of Ukrainian communities. Today we work in 30 communities in Ukraine.

Ukraine in brief:

A large-scale exchange of prisoners took place, thanks to which 144 Ukrainian defenders returned home. Among them are 95 Azovstal defenders.

In the Volyn and Polissya areas, as part of the exercises, the military commissariats of the republic of belarus are inspecting the assigned composition and the possibility of mobilization in certain regions.

In the Siversky direction, the enemy continues to provide enhanced protection of the Ukrainian-russian border. In addition, the aggressor fired on civilian and military infrastructure in the areas of the settlements of Turya and Luhivka in the Sumy region. Inflicted an air strike on the settlement of Uhroidy.

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy fired from tanks, mortars, barrel artillery and jet artillery at the settlements of Kharkiv, Bazaliyivka, Pryshyb, Shestakove, Ruska Lozova, Verkhniy Saltiv, Ivanivka, and Zamulivka.

In the Slovyansk direction, the enemy regroups troops and holds previously occupied frontiers. Shelling was recorded in the areas of Dolyna, Bohorodychne, Mykilske, Hrushuvakha and Dovhenke settlements. The occupiers also launched an air strike near Husarivka.

In the Donetsk direction, the enemy, with the support of artillery, tries to block the city of Lysychansk and take control of the section of the highway Lysychansk - Bakhmut. It fired on civilian and military infrastructure in the areas of the settlements of Lysychansk, Verkhnokamyanka, Siversk, and in an air strike on the area of ​​the Lysychansk Oil Refinery. It supported sabotage and reconnaissance groups in the area of ​​Verkhnyokamyanka to support the offensive. Ukrainian soldiers found and neutralized them. The remnants of the occupiers' DRG left.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy did not conduct active hostilities, firing artillery at the Tetyanivka area.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy fired at the positions of our troops with artillery of various calibers near Klinove, Rozdolivka, Vyimka and Ivano-Daryivka. It struck an air strike near the village of Vidrodzenna. It tried to improve the tactical situation in the area of ​​the settlement of Spirne by offensive actions, was unsuccessful, and withdrew. Our soldiers neutralized the enemy's sabotage and reconnaissance group near Berestove.

In the Avdiivka, Kurakhiv, Novopavliv and Zaporizhzhia directions, the enemy fired mortars, barrel and jet artillery at our positions in the areas of the settlements of Avdiivka, Vesele, Pavlivka, Bilohirya, Inzhenerne, Olhivske, Preobrazhenka, and Huliaipilske. In addition, the russian occupiers launched airstrikes on civilian infrastructure near Orikhove and Scherbaky.

In the South Buh direction, the enemy carried out systematic shelling of civilian and military infrastructure with barrel artillery and jet artillery, and regrouped troops.

In the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, the occupying power continues to carry out measures of the administrative-police regime. The collection of personal information of local residents, compulsory certification and ban on the population to enter the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities are underway.

Some units of the Armed Forces of the russian federation, which were withdrawn from the territory of Ukraine to regain combat capability, are not able to replenish their units in time due to the reluctance of personnel to take part in the war against Ukraine. Personnel who refused to take part in the war are released, there are attempts to prosecute such persons.

 Our units continue to perform missile and artillery fire tasks in certain areas and beat the occupiers in close combat.

Southern Oblasts

Kyiv Oblast

The President of Indonesia Joko Vidodo arrived in Kyiv and Irpen https.

Billionaire and Virgin Galactic founder Richard Branson visited Gostomel. There he was interested in airfield "Antonov" and the possibilities of its restoration.

Diplomatic work continues. A delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) visited Irpen. The parliamentarians came to Ukraine to gather evidence of russia's war crimes and evidence of violations of international laws of warfare. Based on the resulting evidence base gathered by PACE and other international organizations, PACE deputies will initiate the creation of an international criminal court to deal with the crimes of russian aggression. 

Irpin City Council and the Association of Mayors of France signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. From now on, the French organization will help rebuild the city.

The exhibition "Destroyed but Unconquered Irpin" was opened in Brussels.

Zhytomyr Oblast

Zhytomyr paratroopers shot down a russian reconnaissance and attack helicopter "Ka-52".

Zhytomyr 95th Brigade received the honorary award "For Courage and Bravery". 

As a result of enemy artillery shelling in the Luhansk Oblast, the coach of the children's and youth sports school "Yunist" of the Zhytomyr Oblast Council Yuriy Horodniy died.

More than 300 objects damaged by russian air strikes have already been counted in Zhytomyr. Currently there are problems with dismantling.

Chernihiv Oblast

The russians continue to fire on the borders of Chernihiv Oblast. At about 9 p.m., 39 explosions were recorded. The shelling was carried out from the territory of the Bryansk region of the russian federation on the settlement of the Novgorod-Siverskyi Raion.

Work is underway to rebuild infrastructure damaged by russian aggression.

In Chernihiv, restaurateurs feed people whose homes have been destroyed. Every day it is about 750 hot lunches.

Sumy Oblast

Yesterday, the russians fired on the border all day. As a result of the attacks, two people were killed and three were injured.

In the morning, the russian military fired on Krasnopillia region and some settlements of the Velykopysarivka community. There were about 5 attacks on the Krasnopillia community. Initially, there were 30 hits from multiple rocket launchers "Grad". Also, the russians once again fired artillery at the community - as a result, there were 50 explosions. Later, 30 artillery hits were recorded. In the evening, there were another 40 artillery strikes and 12 shots fired from multiple rocket launchers.

The russians also launched 20 missiles from helicopters that did not cross the state border. All attacks were directed at the Krasnopillia and Myropil communities.

In the afternoon, a drone dropped an explosive device on the village of the Velykopysarivka community. After 8 p.m., the situation repeated itself.

The night in Sumy Oblast passed quietly.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

During the day, the russian occupiers fired multiple missile systems and missiles at the oblast's civilian infrastructure.

In Kharkiv, the Industrial, Shevchenkivskyi and Slobidskyi districts came under fire. In the afternoon, the enemy fired on the Industrial district, 5 people were hospitalized. Private houses, outbuildings and warehouses were damaged. At about 11 p.m., the occupiers struck at the Shevchenkivskyi district. As a result of the explosion in the house the windows were broken, 1 woman received shrapnel wounds. During the night, the russians hit one of the infrastructure facilities in Slobidskyi district again. 

During the day, the occupiers fired on the Izium, Chuhuiv, Kharkiv, and Bohodukhiv Raions og Kharkiv Oblast

In Pechenihy (Chuhuiv Raion), a boiler house, a hospital, a playground and residential buildings were damaged. The russians shelled the village of Ivashky (Zolochiv community) with artillery.

An air strike from helicopters "Ka-52" was carried out near the village of Yavirske.

As a result of the shelling of Tsirkuny, 2 people were killed and 1 was injured. Two more wounded were in the Dergachiv community.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine repulsed the assault and forced the occupiers to withdraw in the areas of Dementievka, Dovgalivka and Zaliman. Ukrainian defenders hold positions, in particular, in the hot Izium direction.

Donetsk Oblast

In the Donetsk direction, the main efforts of the enemy are focused on conducting hostilities in the Lysychansk and Bakhmut directions in order to encircle the city of Lysychansk.

In the Lysychansk direction, the enemy continues its offensive in the direction of Vovchoyarivka - Verkhnokamianka.

On June 28, the russians killed one civilian in the Donetsk Oblast - in Avdiivka. Another 8 people were injured today. In addition, 1 person died in Donetsk Oblast after injuries received in Luhansk Oblast. Another seven wounded from the Luhansk Oblast received medical treatment in Kramatorsk.

Since the beginning of the russian invasion of Ukraine, 539 civilians have been killed and 1,404 wounded in shelling and bombing in the Donetsk Oblast.

Volnovakha 

The situation is very complicated. The city continues to be under occupation.

The Ukrainian military is conducting an offensive, advancing little by little every day.

Today, the occupiers finally released 41 people from the village of Vilne. They were detained without explanation for three weeks. They were released only after numerous calls and inquiries to the occupation administration of russia in the occupied Donetsk Oblast and their leaders.

The AUI Active Community regional coordinator in Uman conducted a training event for internally displaced persons who wants to start their own business.

Kramatorsk

It was a very restless night in the city. After midnight, powerful explosions woke up the citizens. No casualties or damage were reported.

An air-raid warning could have been heard several times throughout the day. 

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) give a decent rebuff to the enemy that is trying to move in the direction of Kramatorsk and Sloviansk. The Territorial Defense Forces units are preparing to meet the enemy.

On June 29th, the Kramatorsk Vodokanal municipal production enterprise received Grundfos pumping equipment as humanitarian aid from the Podillia Hromada Charitable Foundation. This equipment will be installed at pumping stations, which will improve the city's water supply system and provide round-the-clock centralised water supply to separate settlements.

Citizens express great gratitude to the "Use Bude Dobre" ("Everything Will Be Fine") Foundation for the organized delivery of food kits for the elderly. Unfortunately, due to constant air alarms in the city, the work of public transport is stopped. Due to this, citizens cannot get to the help centre. Therefore, address delivery is very important.

The situation is becoming even more alarming as citizens hear constant explosions. However, there is no increase in the number of those willing to evacuate. The community has received information about the possibility of evacuation to Germany.

The AUI Active Community coordinator organized targeted delivery of food kits to the elderly.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

In the Avdiivka and Kurakhiv directions, the enemy fired artillery at the areas of Kamyanka, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka. A unit of Ka-52 helicopters struck near Avdiivka.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) soldiers repulsed the onslaught of the enemy. Local Territorial Defense Forces units are patrolling in the Pokrovsky community.

Yesterday, the situation in the community was relatively calm. Municipal utilities operate on a full-time basis, provide water and electricity, and clean the streets of garbage.

The Red Cross in the Pokrovsk community received another batch of humanitarian aid for the needed. 

The Pokrovsk City Council received another humanitarian cargo from Uzhhorod with medicines for medical institutions of the municipal non-profit enterprise "Center of Primary Health Care". From the first days of russia's invasion of Ukraine, the All-Ukrainian Charitable Foundation "From Heart to Heart" began to help Pokrovsk with medicines. The humanitarian cargo, which arrived from Uzhhorod this time, consists of 8 boxes with medicines and dressings. In addition, there were mats and blankets. Bakhmut

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy is advancing in the directions of Midna Ruda - Klynove. They have partial success and fortify their positions in the northern part of Klynovr and near the E-40 highway (near the Vuhlehirsk power station). In order to maintain the pace of the offensive in this direction, the occupiers strengthened their unit with one battalion tactical group.

The AUI Active Community coordinator conducted organizational preparations for the event, which will take place tomorrow in Cherkasy.

Mariupol

Starting from February 24th, the russians had forcibly deported 50,000 citizens. Deported Ukrainians start to flee russia. Even russian media report about that. This confirms that the russians are lying that Ukrainians from Mariupol are allegedly going to russia voluntarily.

The russians completely destroyed Mariupol. The city council publishes photos of the objects before and after the occupation. In the photo you can see the largest shopping center in the city. 

The humanitarian situation in the city is difficult. There are places where people can take a shower, but they have only 10 minutes. Citizens have to look for drinking water all the time. Food is prepared on fire under hot weather conditions. 

Luhansk Oblast

The russian army continues its offensive in the direction of Vovchoyarivka - Verkhnyokamyanka. They are trying to surround Lysychansk, Zolotarivka, Vovchoyarivka and Lysychansk. Yesterday, the enemy also attacked Spirne, which is located on the very administrative border of Luhansk and Donetsk Oblasts, and near Verkhnokamyanka, but they were forced to withdraw.

Hostilities continue in all settlements of the Lysychansk community. The russians are trying to break through the Ukrainian defenses, but they are failing. So they destroy everything in their path. The shelling continues constantly, the destruction is catastrophic. Only in Lysychansk the russians sent two battalion tactical groups of heavy equipment. 

Southern Oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast

On June 29th, in the morning, the russian occupiers launched a missile strike on Mykolaiv. One of the missiles hit a high-rise apartment building. 4 people were killed and 5 were injured. 

The garage cooperative and the tourist place were also damaged. 

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

In the afternoon, the occupiers hit the Kryvyi Rih Raion with artillery, Zelenodolsk and Velyka Kostroma were also under fire. There is one injured man who received shrapnel wounds to his leg. A power line in Velyka Kostromka was damaged.

Also, the russian occupying forces struck on the territory of the Kryvyi Rih thermal power plant. 

In total, 24 educational institutions in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast were damaged as a result of the shelling of russian troops. These are 13 schools, 4 kindergartens, 1 out-of-school institution, 5 vocational education institutions and 1 college. The air-blast damaged facades, roofs, windows etc.

In seven communities of Kryvyi Rih and Synelnykove Raions, which officially have the status of victims of russia, children will have classes from September 1st exclusively remotely. 

In Kryvyi Rih, Dnipro and Synelnykove, police detained four russian citizens who were illegally staying in Ukraine and could threaten national security. 

Starting from July 1st, the Inhulets Mining and Processing Plant and the Southern Mining and Processing Plant will be closed in Kryvyi Rih. The main reason for the stop is the company's problems with exports, higher transportation costs and falling prices.

As a result of yesterday's rocket, a car service and an industrial enterprise were destroyed in Dnipro. The general director and the accountant of the car service were killed. More than 21 cars and 13 trucks were damaged. The railway line was damaged, due to which the movement of passenger trains was delayed for several hours. Residential buildings located nearby were also significantly damaged. Also in Dnipro, seven people were injured during yesterday's russian shelling. Among them there is a 6-year-old boy. 

In Dnipro, during a session of the City Council, more than 20 street names associated with russia were changed.  

Yesterday in Synelnykove Raion of the city, the roofs and windows of residential buildings were damaged.

Kirovohrad oblast

Kropyvnytskyi

The day in the community passed quietly, there were no air-raid alarms. In general, the situation in the community is calm and under control.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine guard the borders of the region and military facilities. Territorial defense fighters conducted tactical exercises and patrolled the city.

Andriy Raikovych, the head of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Military Administration, called on the leaders of the communities and territories not to stop arranging shelters and providing them with water, medicines, electricity and furniture. He also appealed to the residents of the region not to ignore the air-raid alarm and to stay in shelters during it.

Darya Lopatina, a choreographer from Kropyvnytskyi, united dancers in Ukraine and Europe in a patriotic flashmob.

Kropyvnytskyi athlete Ivan Bulych became the winner of an international tournament held in the Czech Republic. This is an international competition between clubs. There are no sports schools abroad, and competitions are held among clubs. There were a lot of athletes. The Ukrainian athlete won first place in the triple jump at the tournament in Prague. He showed a high result in the age category of 14-17 years. This was reported on the website of the athletics federation of the region, informs the media portal DOZOR.

The coordinator of the AUI “Active Community” provided the migrants who arrived in Kropyvnytskyi with consultations on obtaining documents on the status of an internally displaced person, as well as information on the available resources of employers of the regional center and surrounding communities.

Poltava oblast

On June 29 and 30, training shootings will take place on the territory of the Lubny community.

As a result of bad weather in Poltava region, 78 settlements were completely and 3 partially left without electricity. Many damages in Poltava due to falling branches and trees. 22 power lines and 343 transformer substations in the territory of the former Poltava, Karliv, Kozelshchyna, Lokhvytsia, Mashiv, Myrhorod, Novosanzharsk, Reshetyliv, Chutiv and Lubny districts were shut down. Currently, emergency crews continue to repair the damage.

Destroyed Russian equipment will soon be available for a closer look. The Museum of Bomber Aviation in Poltava is preparing an exhibition of trophies. 

Today, the team of the AUI “Active Community” is scheduled to meet with the head of the public organization "Interaction" to discuss plans for July to conduct joint art therapy activities for families of internally displaced persons.

Vinnytsia oblast

Zhmerynka

The enemy did not carry out any military operations on the territory of the community. In general, the situation in the community is calm.

Representatives of the Territorial Defense Forces patrolled key facilities.

The city council's website published information about military assistance, but as it turned out, it was the help of volunteers, not the city council. Activists were outraged by the appropriation of their work and PR of the city authorities at the expense of volunteers, so the post was corrected with reference to the original source.

People have become more indifferent, they understand that the war has dragged on, it is harder to involve people in collecting aid.

Khmilnyk and Khmilnytskyi region

Air-raid alarms have been sounded for the past 24 hours

The past day in the Khmilnytsky community was relatively calm. Utilities operate normally, provide electricity and water, and remove garbage from the streets.

Khmelnytsky lyceum students who received awards from the Khmelnytsky City Council transferred them in support of the army.

Children from Kozyatyn joined the fundraiser for bayraktar. And although funds have already been raised for bayraktars, the children of Makhnivka of the Kozyatyn Territorial Community continue to raise funds, already in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The coordinator of the AUI “Active Community” in Khmilnyk and Khmilnytsky region talked to the head of the Center for Children and Youth Creativity.

Lviv oblast

The Security Service of Ukraine detained a russian agent who was adjusting missile strikes on the Yavoriv military range in the Lviv region.

Ivano-Frankivsk

The situation in the region is stable and under control. As at 5 p.m., there were no air-raid sirens.

The community is considering starting school on August 1. Rescuers are touring all educational institutions and checking the suitability of shelters. After the inspection, "safety passports" will be issued.

There are more comfortable trolleybuses in Ivano-Frankivsk. This year the community purchased 5 electric vehicles from Salzburg. And now absolutely free of charge, as a charitable aid, traction engines, lifts and spare parts came from this Austrian city.

Volunteers continue to work actively.

The AUI “Active Community” Coordinators conduct activities for both internally displaced persons and citizens. Such integration meetings bring people very close together and help them get used to the city and its culture. The team is also actively involved in fundraising to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 

Rivne Oblast

Rivne

As of 17:00 there were no air alarms. The general situation is calm.

Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine patrol the border with Belarus. Representatives of the Territorial Defense patrol and are on duty at checkpoints.

Today the head of Rivne OMA Vitaliy Koval held a briefing on the beginning of the school year in schools. In the Rivne Oblast, everything possible is being done to start the educational process on September 1 full-time - in the usual form for children. But the main thing is to ensure security in educational institutions. This was emphasized by the head of Rivne OMA Vitaliy Koval during the briefing. 

About 350 tons of humanitarian aid for the Volyn and Rivne oblasts came from philanthropists from Belgium. In particular, medicines, food, hygiene items, and military supplies were received.

Today, the Mayor of Rivne Oleksandr Tretyak and the Rector of Luhansk Medical University, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Serhiy Smirnov signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. Recently, Luhansk Medical University and part of its teaching staff moved to Rivne. Now it will fully function in the city. 

The coordinators met with partners - the Youth Space and the Library for Youth to hold joint events in July.

Khmelnytsky Oblast

Khmelnytskyi

The situation in the city and oblast is under control

A woman from Khmelnytsky, who was detained by the Security Service of Ukraine, was suspected of treason. In April officers from the Khmelnytsky Oblast Security Service of Ukraine exposed and detained a local woman who was assisting the occupiers. For a monetary reward, she collected and handed over intelligence to a representative of the special services of the Russian Federation, in particular about the location of military units and enterprises in the oblast that work for Ukroboronprom. The malefactor was also engaged in anti-Ukrainian agitation and propaganda.

The Regional Oblast Administration continues to work with philanthropists to provide units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with vehicles. Therefore, two more Mitsubishi SUVs from the Heart of the Ukrainian Nation Charitable Foundation were handed over to the soldiers of one of the military units of the Khmelnytsky oblast with the assistance of the oblast military administration.

These vehicles have been serviced and painted, and in addition, volunteers have filled the bodies with 200 packets of dry rations, which will be useful to soldiers during combat missions.

Volunteers donated a house to the family of the deceased defender of Mariupol, who comes from the Khmelnytsky oblast. The American organization "August Mission" raised money for the purchase of a house in just 4 days. They have been cooperating with the Podillya Volunteers Charitable Foundation since March.

In Khmelnytsky on the central Proskurivska, it was forbidden to turn on background music in the open areas of cafes, restaurants and other establishments. Musical ensembles and soloists are not allowed to perform on the mentioned street, where the Alley of Heroes is located. This decision was made during the last meeting of the executive committee.

The regional coordinators held an art therapy event for children and parents. Together they painted eco-bags, and talked about our impact on the environment and how we can improve its condition.

Kamianets-Podilskyi

Yesterday 20 more migrants arrived in the city. During the day, the community distributed 3,110 free hot portions of lunch and dinner.

Community medics continue to receive wounded soldiers for treatment and rehabilitation. Nine more defenders arrived in the city. Every effort is made to provide the fighters with comfort and appropriate treatment.

The city council's website has officially announced that schooling will begin on September 1 and last until June 30, 2023. The commission that inspects shelters in educational institutions continues to work.

The mayor announced that gas and gasoline are on sale at almost all gas stations. Diesel fuel is expected in the evening.

Since the beginning of the year, private carriers of the community have been asking the City Council to increase tariffs. The figures sounded 17-18 hryvnias. However, today there are already calculations of the fare taking into account the increase in fuel prices. This is 10 hryvnias. The issue is planned to be submitted to the session of the city council. The community also operates public transport with the involvement of comfortable buses transferred from the Polish city of Kalisz, where the fare is currently unchanged - 5 UAH.

A playground has been installed near the secondary school №6. This gift was made to the children by the CRH plant, which now operates in Ukraine under the new CEMARK brand. Also, the joint-stock company "Podilsky Cement" is completing another project this year - the arrangement of a sports location in the village of the cement plant.

A tent camp in the park of Heroes of Euromaidan continues to work for children of the community and young migrants. There are master classes, sports entertainment, and educational games.

Zakarpattia Oblast

Another patriotic mural in Uzhhorod was painted on one of the walls of the fence of the Avtomobilist stadium on Constitution Day. It was created within the framework of the All-Ukrainian action on writing a mural, which was organized by the volunteer movement of Ukrainian youth Building Ukraine Together (BUR).

A panel discussion on "The Basic Law of Ukraine in the Conditions of War" took place in Uzhhorod on the occasion of Constitution Day in the regional scientific library. Scholars spoke about the historical context of the main document of the state. Attendees watched archival videos, which recorded the night of June 28, 1996, in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

The artist of the orchestra of the Honored Academic Zakarpattia Folk Choir Timea Fabian returned from the front line. And immediately hurried to her native choir class, where later a spontaneous decision was born: to perform with the team. No rehearsals were held. Although the last time Timea held the violin was almost six months ago.

100 children affected by the war have free rest in the Gorbok camp in the Mukachevo district of Zakarpattia.
